I stayed at Hotel Adria in Bolzano and overall it was a solid, simple stay. The location was excellent, right by the mall and close to everything I needed, which made getting around really easy.
The room was very compact, especially for one person, but it was cosy and clean. I slept well and it had everything I needed for a short stay. Overall, a straightforward, comfortable option in a really convenient spot.

The location is great, specially if you want to explore the surroundings. You just have to walk across a square to reach the train station. The bus station is a few meters farther.
Next to the hotel, there’s a newly renovated square and a new shopping mall with an amazing food court.
The room is very clean and and the bed is comfortable.
Our room had a minibar, although it was empty and noisy.
Big bathtub and good shower.
The staff is nice, but the hotel doesn’t seem to be very computerized. Everything is manual, so even finding the guest’s name at check-in takes some time.
The breakfast is 15 euros, too expensive for a meal that only offers coffee and a few supermarket snacks.
The heating could have been better.

Very helpful staff who made us a lovely breakfast. Great location.
Too expensive.

Location close to train and bus station, plus old town
Just the usual gripe about European double beds that split down the middle!

The location is great and for a fair price
Leaving my key at the desk before I left each time and the 1 am curfew.

Good hotel with helpful staff, a good breakfast and a secure place to store our bicycles.
Unfortunately, the hotel was surrounded by a construction site at the time we stayed there. Had trouble finding the entrance.

The location is excellent! Yes there is construction going on right across from the hotel as of this review, but honestly if you leave your windows closed it's not that noticeable in my opinion. The A/C worked and that was enough to keep the room cool during my stay. The room was large as well as the bathroom. Multiple towels for the shower and hand towels. The water pressure was insanely good, although the temp did fluctuate a bit during a shower. The bed was decent and the room was very clean. And one of the most important things is the wifi! It worked great!
The shower head holder was sorta broken so it was tough to hang back up. Not a big deal at all!

Vey nice hotel, close the the historic center. The staff is nice and helpful. The room was large and comfortable. Very clean too. I walked a lot and it was well situated.
There was a construction site just in front of the hotel. Very noisy and not inviting. The view of the mountain was completely blocked by this new building. However, with the windows closed, the noise was not invasive and it did not wake me up.

Didn't try the breakfast as we were leaving early, but location was awesome, slept really well.

Great location close to both the train station and the central square. Quiet, comfortable, nice staff.
Can't think of anything

It was clean, centeal location and cheaper compared to average in the historical center. Polite receptionist.
Overall, quality is below average, you pay for good location. The cleaning lady was rather rude talking to the guests.

Perfect location closed to the station and to everything
Small room simple

Very close to central train staion and pedestrian zones in Bolzano. Helpful staff.
A large construction project faces hotel entrance. So entrance to hotel is either through a bus depot or a sidestreet with construction scaffolding.

The hotel is very old and not updated. And very very expensive for what you get. No facilities. It felt going back to year 1960. The staff could barely speak English. And most of then was not happy. I will never go there again. It was just acceptable with a bed, roof over my head.

I noticed that some earlier reviews perhaps put in some negative comments on various aspects of this hotel. Firstly - the wifi policy has obviously changed and is now free for ones entire visit.
Secondly - yes there is construction site outside but work doesn't start until 8.00am so not really much of an issue compared with the convenience of the location and proximity to the station. And finally some reviewers commented on the number of itinerants in the area and how as a solo female traveller they felt unsafe. I was a bit concerned after reading these reviews as unfortunately a late illness meant I too was travelling to Bolzano alone. But it proved a non event. Yes it's not the most attractive location, but unsafe - hardly- just turn right out of the hotel and around the corner one is right in the main town square. Lots of people, great cafes and about 3 mins max from Hotel Adria.
a kettle and coffee and tea making facilities wouldn't go amiss.

They were open when we got there at 22:30.
The guy at the desk wasn't rude. There is an elevator
The entry wasn't lit up. We walked up a flight of stairs in the dark before finding the reception desk. The guy checking us in didn't tell us that there was a door after we got off the elevator that would lead to our room. So we opened a door with our key, not knowing if it was someone else's room or not. Weird feeling. There wasn't much for lights in any hall way. We had to use a flashlight.
Not the hotels fault but it was not a comfortable feeling walking to the hotel from the train in the dark. Groups of people wanting money, cat calling.

I dit not stay at the hotel, but canceled the stay after talking to the receptionist.
I canceled My stay at the Booking.com-app.
From the short visit :dusty, noisy (huge construction site as neighbour) and dark with an indifferent receptionist. The receptionist asked me to cancle the stay at My own Booking.com-app, that I did.
I realy did cancle the stay, - clicking at the red line etc. wherefore I do not know, why this misunderstanding appear.

Great for a brief stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Very conveniently situated close to the train station on the way to the city center.
Apparently the place has been renovated not too long ago.
Not luxurious but more than exceptable.
There is currently a construction area just across the road but during my stay it was not very noisy and didn't disturb me at all.

Location
The neighborhood was pretty sketchy and second I go to my room. The lights shut off, and I had no power. Also, the rooms the size of a prison cell.
Also construction started across the street early in the morning.

I really enjoyed the stay here. Excellent cleaning, huge bed, large room and everything you need for your stay.

The reception was fine. It's located very near the train station and a short walk to see Otzi in the museum.
There were a bunch of loud partiers in the building around 1am and they carried on for an hour before passing out. The area between hotel and train station is filled with loiterers who drink and smoke weed. There seems to be a decent police presence in town so I would recommend that the owner suggests that they crack down and deport the people who are there illegally before this beautiful town becomes dangerous for tourists to visit.

Hotel Adria is right next to the city center. The owners and other workers were very nice.
One of the most inconvenient facts is that you cannot go out and arrive before 1:00 a.m. You have to leave the key in the lobby, and after 00:00 h, you have to ring the building doorbell to get in. Another problem is the vast construction site in front of the hotel. This is out of the hands of the hotel, and the windows have good sound isolation, so it is not so bad. The breakfast was ok, but I would have appreciated more fruit variety (only apple was offered) and some veggies could be added. I was offered eggs only on the last day, so I am not sure it is an option for every day.

Cleanliness
Big room size
Kitchenette with all the things you need
Location and view ( but turned out to be negative due to ongoing construction nearby and hang out of unvolenteered friends in the bus stand)
Dont expect complimentary water bottles, tea bags/coffee, sugar, etc for the amount you pay.
Everything is managed by the cleaning ladies.
Receptionist called me to check-out at 11am even though I have informed earlier at reception (cleaning lady cum receptionist) that I will check-out at 12noon
Very low water flow in the shower
Too hot room no temperature controls (need to open the window)....when informed the reception at night he in turn ask what you have eat to make you so hot
Too noisy due to construction works started very early in the morning, and it wakes you up and goes very late in the night, sometimes continued with night shift work this spoils the location and mountain view into a disadvantage.
Unvolenteered friends say 10 to 15 people hanging out in the nearby bus stand makes you think to avoid that way to the hotel even though it is the shortest (we went around opposite road to walther platz is better). Hotel management should take some action saying their guests are complaining and cannot brush away, saying it is out of their control.
Overall, it was too expensive and would not suggest this hotel mainly due to the construction works (noisy even with good soundproof windows) and with the unvolenteered friends hanging around near the hotel not safe at night especially for females
2.0 / 10.0
- Proximity to train station
- Nice reception staff
- No noise coming through even when there’s a construction work in front of the hotel
- The group of men hanging out in the evening right along the street where the hotel is could make females specifically feel unsafe. From personal experience, some even followed me all the way to the door of the hotel even if I was trying to be polite while not encouraging the conversation. They remarked “oh so you do not want to talk to us?”
Stopped walking around in the dark after that encounter.
- Toilet smells of sewage at times.
- Shower water pressure is weak.
- Cleaning staff could enter your room in the morning even if you are still in the room.
