Craylord

This accommodation was well stocked, neat and well maintained. We really enjoyed our stay.

The location

When we arrived at Craylord, it was obvious that the house had not been cleaned. The floors were dusty and particularly noticeable on the couches and main bedroom seating cushions. These obviously don't get vacuumed, which makes sense because there is no vacuum cleaner. We ended up re-cleaning the house ourselves to an acceptable manner as well as getting people in to clean at our own cost. The dishwasher was broken and didn't work for three days. We didn't come on holiday to wash dishes and given the size of the property you can imagine how many dishes there were. The washing machine did not work at all and no efforts were made to replace/repair it. We had to send our washing in at our own cost and during Covid-19 lock down which put both families at risk. The kitchen is poorly equipped and we even purchased items such as knives, chopping boards, potato pealers, again at our own cost which we ended up leaving there. There are only two operational stove plates on the stove and the deep freeze is more of a fridge, it doesn't freeze. The patio had broken and loose tiles all over and clearly has not been maintained. This is extremely dangerous given the house is child and pet friendly. The pictures of the top deck sea view portion is a huge misrepresentation of the actual space which is a shame because it is the best part of the whole house. It is unusable due to no deck umbrella and the plastic chairs are all broken and unusable. The deck chairs displayed in the advert which is obviously the selling point don't even exist. The advertised air-conditioner also only works for short periods at a time. This house doesn't require a lot to get it to an acceptable state and given the exorbitant amount we paid to stay here, I would imagine the owner can afford to attend to these issues very easily. We felt completely ripped off. Overall it would've been more comfortable camping in the beautiful Paternoster Nature Reserve.
