Luxurious and Grand

The Red Sky Edwardian Mansion was like staying in a grand stately home. The views from the enormous upstairs windows were stunning

The 2 downstairs bedrooms had no aircon only free standing fans which didn’t work over well so the rooms were unbearably hot

Great self catering facility

The accommodation was suitable and you have all the essentials for a comfortable stay, including a dishwasher and washing machine.

The neighbors were extremely loud and played music everyday. It didn't feel like we had much privacy - but this is not the fault of the hosts. It did have an impact on our experience

Lovely stay! Spacious property close to Somerset West and some lovely wine farms. It was quiet, clean and comfortable. They had a space for our dog to roam freely in an enclosed garden as well as a bigger area with a swimming pool. Will definitely return.

Beautiful property, well equipped, friendly and relaxed.

We stayed in 3 units on this absolutely stunning, beautifully maintained, family friendly property with a huge garden, sparkling clean pools, strutting peacocks, cutest little bunnies. The communal pool has fabulous 360 degree views of the Helderberg Basin. 6 mins drive to the centre of Somerset West, the units are spotless and well equipped, super comfy beds, good wifi. 24 hour helpful security, Matthew welcomed us warmly and showed us to our units, everyone we met was really friendly and efficient.

Below expectations

The location was good.

Although it is advertised as having load shedding back up, our villa did not have backup. The bathroom flooded as the shower blocked after 1 shower as the drain under the wooden slats was so full of hair and muck. The DSTV didn't work, and when it did, the channel options were so poor it wasn't worth switching the TV on. The carport is way too small to fit in a larger car. There is nowhere to blow dry your hair and look in a mirror. The room is cramped and actually not suitable for a family of 4. The peacocks are so loud throughout the night, and the alarm beeps randomly throughout the night. It was not peaceful or conducive to a good night's rest. It was way overpriced and a real disappointment. In fact, we checked out early. I would not stay here again, and I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

Some of the group members were very happy with their rooms.

One of the villas we occupied was very cold - the air conditioner wasn't working. We were promised a gas heater, however it was not delivered. The blanket was very light - during cold days and in winter, it would be great if warmer blankets could be provided. This villa was also quite far and isolated.

There were a few small things: No washing up cloths (other apartments had) No bathroom mat Load shedding - this facility has absolutely no preparation for load shedding. A few torches. No way of boiling the kettle. I would suggest they invest in something to cater for load shedding. BUT the setting and location is absolutely beautiful, apartments very comfortable.

It was a nice stay but feel expensive in comparison to our other stays with better facilities.

The property is well sited and has great views of the mountains, Somerset West and the Sea

Bedroom and en- suite were fine except there is a door to the next accommodation kitchen which meant from 6am voices would disturb you. The Lounge/dinner and Kitchen badly designed and in need of refurbishment. No facilities to overcome load shedding.

it was lovely and worth every cent.

Everything! The staff was so helpful, one of the gardeners helped me set up a braai. The receptionist was very informative and accommodating and the scenery was beautiful. It’s a great place to unwind and find peace. I had booked for one day but ended up extending as I was in love with the villa.
