Clean but unfairly priced for the service received.

It’s a well maintained property.

The property seems to function only partially as hotel business - with real hotel prices but no hotel commodities such as soap in the bathroom. Guests are expected - Jugendherberge style - to take part in cleaning and waste disposal rituals. It’s, however, not a Jugendherberge price.

Good as a gate to Schwarzwald

Exceptionally peaceful place to stay, yet 5 minutes from Freiburg main station. Supermarket is 2 minutes away.

I know it’s Gästehaus, but no soap/gel whatsover is a bit annoying (cheapest mini-soap wouldn’t make them go bankrupt I guess…).

Wifi was terrible and almost dysfunctional Basic amenities like soaps and handwash was missing Kitchen wasn’t present in the floor of assigned room. First floor common shared kitchen was over crowded all the time and far from the assigned room in ground floor.

Minus: The trashbin was not emptied after the previous guest, the leftover food was there! It was very confusing how to get the key from the safe and to find the safe to start with! The toilet seat was broken! It was difficult to get the toilet paper 🧻 out of the toilet paper container Plus: The location was good closed to the railway station.

Affordable price, location close to the station, and supermarket nearby! Hot water comes out gurgling. Overall, I think it's usable.

I made an additional reservation due to the strike, but the strike was canceled! I requested a date change but was ignored! We booked not only Germany, but also France, but a strike is just a strike. The responsibility is ours! And I still don't know where to put the towels! Contrary to the staff's explanation, there is no place to separate and throw away garbage in the aisle between c and b! And where the hell do I throw my towels? In addition, the staff is only in the office at 8:30, so you have to call if you have any questions. And even if you ask for extra towels, they are ignored! What is the probability of using it next time? Poor Germany and France... Who staged the strike?

in summary, although it’s relatively cheap in freiburg, but It is not recommended

large rooms

1- the property don’t have an elevator and we were in the 3rd floor, that was totally not convienent for ll of us and especially one of my travelers because of sickness and there is no personally available employee to talk to them.. 2- we are traveling a lot, and this the first time we will be required to take the trash out from the room and search for the big containers in the streets and take all the bed sheets and bathroom sheets to some areas downstairs and wash our dishes, and there was a rude man who was commenting on that in the office down. 3- if you are more than 2, you have to buy your wifi!!!

Good place for young students

The location and price were reasonable as the other hotels were much more expensive due to the opening of the Christmas markets. Unfortunately the Christmas markets were all canceled and we had traveled from North America to see them. We were not able to cancel this hotel otherwise we would have traveled to another city. The fridge was a bonus.

The area lacked bars, restaurants, shops and bakeries. There was a lot of nasty graffiti on the outside of many houses, not art graffiti just tagging curse words defacing the neighborhood. There is no soap, shampoo or hairdryer.. The stairs to the beds were steep and the twin beds were small. There was no comfortable place to sit, only two ridged plastic chairs in front of two simple desks. You needed to sort and take out your own garbage and strip your beds and take your linens to the laundry room. Also, no elevator so it was a bit of a hazard carrying a large suitcase up four flights of stairs. Perhaps a good place for people in their early 20s as it is a dormitory.

The location.

We paid 42.50 euro's per night per person. But still we had to take the trash ourself out and put the linen ourself in a box special for it at the entrance of the building. So we paid a normal hotel price but didn't get the service that comes with it....

Nice but at times a bit noisy

The location, just opposite the center of Freiburg, yet with an easy access to the city highway. If you love doing sports - just go on the other side to Engelberger str and enjoy the park, the places for gardening and the cycling lanes. The staff - great team. The other guests - it's a place to make friends with interesting people. The bed - fantastic ! It was equipped with an orthopedic mattress !!!! The room - just great in terms of size and light ! A perfect working place, good lamps and wifi. The set of equipment including a real fridge. Besides of the disadvantages of the construction I liked everything about the place !

Construction of the building: U-Form, balconies inside, naturally all folks is out there, chatting, smoking laughing - all fine, but the construction works like an amplifier - thus noisy! Further within the U-Form there is a parking in the basement, which serves all kids around for doing their skateboard training, sometimes with music until midnight! Even more noisy, of course they need to go somewhere. Thus watch out to book a room on the outside of the U-form building.

Good

The self-check in was a nice feature, which allows great flexibility. The room itself was quiet, cosy, clean and had a desk to study, the TV was a bonus, although it didn't have any French or English channels. Great location, 2 min to a supermarket and 5 min walk to the central station.

If you are planning on using the kitchen facilities, you need to set your expectations straight. I stayed for one night for an exam and a group of young people were staying there at the time, they really managed to leave a HUGE mess every time, dirty kitchen papers on the floor and garbage all over the place. To be fair, in the morning the kitchen was spotless clean again, thanks for the cleaning staff. There was no elevator and nobody was wearing a mask in the common area...

Sehr schönes, ruhiges Zimmer mit Blick ins Grüne. Geräumig, sauber, sehr angenehm.

Die Gemeinschaftsküche war etwas klein für viele Gäste. Der Gemeinschaftsraum zum Essen war mit einer Gruppe belegt.

Für einen Kurztrip zum Übernachten völlig ausreichend

10 Minuten fussläufig vom Bahnhof entfernt. Zimmer war absolut zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Gemeinschaftsräumlichkeiten waren zweckmäßig, sauber und einladend gestaltet

Bettwäsche hatte an zwei Stellen kleine harte Flecken,,, als wäre Plastik darauf verbrannt... ansonsten war alles sehr sauber

Preisgünstige Unterkunft in Bahnhofs- und Citynähe

Die Unterkunft ist in wenigen Minuten sehr gut fußläufig vom Freiburger Hauptbahhof zu erreichen. Supermärkte sind in der Nähe und direkt nebenan ist ein Restaurant. Das Zimmer ist einfach und zweckmäßig ausgestattet (ohne TV Gerät, mit Safe und Kühlschrank) Für die Gemeinschaftsküche gibt es Besteck, Geschirr und Kochuntensilien. Während meines Aufenthaltes wurden Seifenspender in allen Zimmern installiert. Duschgel, Shampoo und ggf. einen Fön müssen allerdings mitgebracht werden. Zur Abreise muss man die Bettwäsche selber abziehen und in den Wäscheraum bringen.

Günstig, sauber, ruhig, aber mangelnde Ausstattung.

Sehr ruhig, sauberes Zimmer und Bettwäsche.

Es fehlen Duschgel, Fön, Zahnbürste usw. Abluft in der Dusche funktioniert nicht, so dass der Rauchmelder, der vor dem Eingang ins Bad angebracht ist, vom Dampf angeht und sehr laut piept.

Zentrumsnah,trotzdem ruhig

Danke, dass Sie mir unkompliziert geholfen haben, als ich versehentlich den Zugangscode für die Schlüsselbox gelöscht habe. Das Zimmer war einfach, aber flächenmäßig großzügig und sauber.

dass man als Gast bei Abreise das Bett abziehen sollte, Bett-und Badwäsche in einen Container bringen, sowie den Müll entsorgen. Das fand ich eigentlich soweit in Ordnung, ist aber doch bei dem Übernachtungspreis etwas überzogen.

Für zwei Nächte in Ordnung

Die Lage und der Preis sind unschlagbar. Auch der kontaktlose Check-in hat problemlos funktioniert, was ich sehr angenehm fand, da ich spät angekommen bin. Das Zimmer ist zwar groß, aber nicht besonders gemütlich. Es ist okay für den kurzen Aufenthalt.

Es ist alles sehr spartanisch. Was ich wirklich störend fand, war, dass es im Bad keine Seife gab.

Es war eine gute Unterkunft - nicht mehr und nicht weniger.

Die Lage ist sehr gut, bis zum Bahnhof und zur Altstadt ist es nicht weit. Die Dokumentation, was das Goethe-Institut seinen Gästen bietet (Küchenbenutzung etc.) war gut. Wer die Anzeige auf Booking.com gründlich liest und die Bilder betrachtet, bekommt schon einen guten Eindruck, was er erwarten kann - und was nicht.

Es ist sehr anonym, der Hausmeister war zumindest am Wochenende nicht da. Man muss das Bett selber abziehen und mitsamt den Handtüchern zur Wäschekammer bringen. Der Fehlalarm nachts um ca. 2:20h wurde erst nach einer guten halben Stunde abgestellt.
