Stayed here in a wonderful city

The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and full of choices. The in-room sink came in handy with the bathroom being shared. The place has a nice, attractive atmosphere in my opinion.

Pleasant Stay

Location was excellent, 10-15 mnute walk from the old town with a tram stop 2 minutes away if walkings not your thing. Friendly staff, nice resteraunt, beds were comfortable. Nice selecion for breakfast in the morning which was continental.

Some of the furnishings in the room need a litle TLC. Not a massaive fan of a shared bathroom but the water was hot and good pressure, but shower head holder and brackets could be better, and paint on the walls was a bit flakey,

Staff very nice and very professional. Nice location with the Altstadt easily reachable by Tram or on foot. Restaurant good food and drink options.

great parking for our motorcycles.

the room was very clean and well appointed, bed was comfortable and shower worked very well. staff and food were amazing, the location was perfect for us and there was plenty of safe and secure parking, including a garage, for our motorcycles.

limited breakfast choices. decor shabby dated. a little far from the centre to travel easily. noisy people at night kept me awake. dinner choices limited and only average quality. ok for a drink in the garden but wouldn’t eat there. under staffed so service is hit and miss…not as cheap as you’d think.

Don't make the mistake I made, of thinking Shared Bathroom meant shared with my family. It's shared with other rooms. This was fine and it was kept very clean; it was just a surprise.

Breakfast had plenty of choice, pub downstairs did nice food aswell. Room was large and bathroom very spacious. Good location only 15 minute walk to centre or tram was across the road.

This may sound silly, but the entrance is not as simple to find as you may think, and you have to walk through the restaurant to get to the rooms. Bed not as big, but it did the job.

Great value stay in Freiburg

Our bedroom was clean and comfortable and had a washbasin. The shared bathroom was spacious, very clean and always accessible. Breakfast served in a period room was excellent. All the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Within walking distance of the town centre. Varied menu available lunch and evening.

The hotel is in a Lovely historical building in 5 minutes walging distance of the city centre of freiburg, but the rooms could definitely use some upgrade, they lokken like there was nothing done in 20 years, the shower was broken, the floor was full of cracks the bed was not comfortabel, also the diner at the restaurant was very dissapointing. But the breakfast was ok

Short walk away " Maria Hilf Kircher tram stop".

The tram stop was a short walk away " Maria Hilf Kircher". Three stops from the Hotel brings you into centre to " Oberlindenof", you can then to walk into the old town and to the Munster. Yo get to the Hotel from Basel airport you exit the airport to the French side there is a bus to Freiburg arriving at the Stadtbahnbrücke Hbf (Train Station) up the stairs above the track you will see trams running to various directions. Take the No1 direction Litten Weiller and stop at the " Maria Hilf Kircher" % stops from the station. You can buy tickets at the Station stop at other stops around the city also on some Trams. If you have a car there is space at the Hotel to park.

You had to run the hot water for some time to get warm.

Unheated, ice-cold room!

The only good thing about the place was the breakfast buffet. It was not outstanding but quite acceptable.

Unfortunately overall not a good experience. Would not recommend! When we arrived at 5:30 p.m. we asked if we could reserve a table for dinner but the receptionist told us that the restaurant was fully booked for the evening. She wasn‘t very helpful and didn‘t recommend any other restaurants in the area or anything like that (at first she hesitated to even look at the reservations-book to check if she could squeeze us in - only when we insisted did she check). We were given a room on the second floor and when we entered it was as if we were entering an ice cave. The windows were open (who knows for how long) and the heater was turned off (it was december and minus degrees outside!). We turned the heater on immediately but when we went to bed a few hours later it was still very cold in the room. What‘s more: the mattress was awful! I haven‘t slept so badly in a long time… Our recommendations for the future: 1) if you have a restaurant at the hotel please make sure that hotel guests are also able to eat there. 2) heat the rooms to a winter appropriate inside temperature!

Great Freiburg guesthouse

A lovely authentic German guesthouse attached to a popular restaurant and beer garden. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

It was unfortunate that the restaurant was fully booked on the night we arrived and the beer garden was closed. The staff managed to fit us in so we were able to sample their lovely traditional German fare.

Since the hotel has no elevator, access to rooms on floors 1, 2, and 3 is awkward especially for those with a mobility problem and/or a heavy suitcase.

Pleasant place to stay. Would stay there again.

The guest house is central. If you travel by train you get off the train walk to the tram. You can buy the ticket on the team. The tram stops about 50m from the guesthouse. The food served in their restaurant is value for your money. We walked around town and it was a very pleasant place to stay for a stop over. I would use it again.

Would have liked a kettle and fridge in the room.
