Great value choice for a short stay

Perfect location, only a short walk to the old town. Large breakfast choice. Although our room was small, it was comfortable enough and quiet.

The shower is very tiny, but that's just a detail.

The hotel has a great location at the edge of city center and beside a beautiful quiet park with great coffee. The rooms are clean, breakfast is very good with good selection. Hotel has its own parking lot with EV chargers.

The beds aren't the most comfortable, some rooms don't have the AC, fortunately the temperatures dropped a little, but i think it can get very warm in the rooms, but they provide a ventilator in the room. The parking lot can get crowded, but the staff keeps the keys in case a car needs to be moved, so they can fit a lot of cars.

Charming hotel in a great location. Very quiet, very clean, with it's private parking for a fee. Upgraded to a spacious room with a hugh bathtub, which was perfect since it was a cold rainy night. very comfortable room. Breakfast is available but we did not have it.

easy place to stay if you want to be able to walk around Freiburg.

Location was very good. Staff at the bar/restaurant were friendly and it was a good place to hang out for a beer or snack.

1st floor room looked out over a bike parking area. Drain in shower was very slow.

Location excellent rooms great breakfast great. Just needed more staff at desk at busy times.

Location room and ease of parking was great! Breakfast beautiful but also close to bakery and cafes.

No tea or coffee in rooms !! Staff on desk were inundated with lines of people at check in. It was a slow process but they remained calm and caring. Needed more staff at that time as guests were getting angry at the time it was taking to speak to someone. Our room was not ready at check in and we sat for an hour and a half waiting. Was very busy !!

Location is excellent but needs work on customer service

Location. Close to Old Town.

Room not ready at checkin time. Kept being told "5 minutes" until it was ready one hour later. The toilet door did not close properly and the room was hot at night. There was a fan but it made more noise than a night club with poor acoustics. I understand that staffing is a problem but be honest with your customers - we can be understanding if presented with the real situation!

Rooms look completely different!

It‘s very close to the center.

The rooms are not like advertised, which is deceiving and disappointing at best. The hotel is extremely dated and beds are utterly uncomfortable. Not worth the money.

A gem in Freiburg

My husband and I really enjoyed our short stay in Stradthotel. We arrived very late (almost midnight) but they still welcomed us very warmly. Large rooms and shower. Very good b'fast with cold cuts, bacon, scrambled and boiled eggs, sausages, cereals, yoghurt, fruit salad, slices of fruit, fruits, you can make your own smoothies/juices and waffles, orange juice (packet), very good coffee, teas, jams, Nutella, cakes, all types of fresh bread (buns, loaves brown and white). You can also ask for coffee on the go. Daily housekeeping and really nice helpful staff. They try to accommodate you with everything you ask (we asked for a kettle and they provided it to us along with 2 cups). One of the best hotels I have stayed in.

If I may suggest 2 things, please change the pillows. I had to put in a towel to sleep. And another coffee machine in the b'fast room will be better than one. But I wouldn't change my rating because of this slight inconvenience.

Good location for exploring the city centre, only a 15min walk to the main train station.

Even though we booked last minute, we received a message the day prior to our arrival that the hotel is undergoing renovations and we would be rebooked to their affiliate hotel across the street. While fine, it seems odd that they wouldn’t have known about the renovations at the time of booking, a week before. upon arrival there was mud in the bathroom, which we mentioned to the front desk staff right away and were told someone would take a look the next day. After returning to the room that next day, the mud had still not been removed, even though the bathroom/room had been cleaned…
