Not so nice

The location was very good, public parking was near, and the staff was very friendly.

The hotel is quirky and shabby, partly tastelessly decorated. They have done some renovation, but they should continue it, for example they should put new floors. Our room was perhaps the worst and smallest in the hotel: you could hardly move in the shower stall, and the sink was in an odd position.

You need to make sure you get to the correct car park, but once there the hotel is very close indeed.

Great location. Room (single) big enough, bed comfortable. All very clean and staff friendly.

No air conditioning. That can be quite tricky in Freiburg in the summer. My room (in the separate guesthouse) faced Konviktstrasse. As sleeping with the window closed was not an option, I “suffered” a lot with late night revellers and early morning road sweepers and delivery vans underneath my window.

Quiet, Well-Located Hotel

Well-located hotel in Altstadt and easy walking distance from the train station. The desk clerk was super nice and inviting and gave us some tips for places to go in the area. It is located on a quiet pedestrian street near the hillside park.

Great location! Right in the Historic District of the city! Friendly staff and very clean! Our room was un available so we were upgraded to the family apartment! Was wonderful to have so much space and a full kitchen! The view from our apartment was great!

Great location and good hotel

The location of the hotel was suberb. Located in the center of the old town of Freiburg, everything was within walking distance. The tram was just 5 minutes away with a direct connection to the central station. The room itself was in good and clean condition. Nothing particulary outstanding for good or bad. I cannot judge the breakfast as I always ate elsewhere.

Personally, I had no problems. But the guest wing of my room had no step-free access so the hotel is not exactly accessible. The surrounding area has almost exclusively cobblestone which is nice to look at but challenging for people using wheelchairs.

Wonderful stay!

The hotel staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. The hotel was ideally located near the Munster and restaurants. The week we stayed (mid-June 2023) was unusually hot, but the staff provided a fan, and with the window open, we slept comfortably. We asked for a quite room and the what we got (floor 3, room 132 exceed our expectation). The shower is tiny, but we managed fine. I would stay again in heartbeat and would choose the same room again.

Parking was expensive, but you don't need a car once you are there. No hot water for tea in the room.

Great location in the historic centre with a comfortable and quiet room.

Great location, close to many shops, restaurants and bars. Within walking distance to everything we wanted to see. Parking is conveniently just steps away at a large lot and you get a discount through the hotel. The staff was so friendly, both check in (we were late and they waited for us) and check out. The room was spacious, clean, tastefully decorated. We liked this area of the Aldstadt - it's a little quieter, more quaint. Highly recommend!

Great location but don’t have a street facing room

Great location and the staff were very friendly

Single room was very basic, in need of refurbishment, no air con and noisy when opened window. Room near the stairs and lift, very noisy with guests and staff.

Lovely hotel, close to the centre of a charming city

This hotel was very centrally located, albeit easier to access on foot than by car. Only a couple of minutes from the city centre, and with plenty of eateries and life on the doorstep. Based in a pedestrian precinct, so no traffic noise (apart from the street sweeper!).

Only minor gripe was a lack of private parking - but it was within 100m of the Schlossberggarage car park, so easy to transfer bags.
