The walls were damp and peeling, it was dirty, the shower was freezing cold, the kettle had mouldy water in it. The radiator didn’t work so the room was beyond cold. It wasn’t a comfortable stay at all.

Woke up half hour before check out time to find out my room had no hot water despite running it for a long time, when checking out staff did offer me to take a shower in another room but I had somewhere else to be not an ideal start to the day, hotel is generally dated and under invested in, room lacked extra pillows or even comftable ones, also the bathroom stunk of cigarette smoke.

Not the Ritz but would definitely revisit

The location was brilliant, right by the sea, staff were really nice and helpful (sorry we didn’t get the lady’s name but she always chatted to us and took a genuine interest in our plans and gave us some good recommendations of where to eat), also it was very reasonably priced. Don’t know about the breakfast as we didn’t eat there as we don’t get up very early on holiday!

Just a few things that could have been improved with a bit of maintenance in the room, a stain on the carpet where a previous occupant had missed a bin with a tea bag, another stain where the radiator had leaked, rusty toilet seat and no hot water from the shower at certain times of day.

Having read some negative reviews was pleasantly surprised

Nice room at front of hotel, great location couple of minutes walk up to high street with shops and pubs or along to harbour area. Since hotel was not that busy out of season breakfast was cooked to order rather than buffet, generous portion served by friendly member of staff.

I had booked for two people but my wife was ill and couldn't come, thought would have been straight forward to knock off price of one breakfast at the hotel but all had to be done via booking.com, but got sorted out in the end - just a bit of hassle after a long journey.

Communication needs improvement.

Comfortable bed, clean large room.

I waited more than 5 minutes for someone to show up at reception when I arrived for check in at the prearranged time. There was a lift to my floor, but it didn't go anywhere near my room. I had to go up and down 3 separate flights of stairs after using the lift, as several houses of different levels were joined to become one hotel. It's a nightmare for someone with mobility issues. I ordered breakfast for the next morning, and staff were surprised when I showed up. The breakfast order was not forwarded. Communication is poor here.

Decent, spacious, clean, great value for money

It was a large spacious room with a closet and desk. There was a kettle with a good amount of coffee and tea. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. The bed was okay but pillow was a bit too soft. It is a great value for money and located at an excellent location. Cleanliness is a massive plus point for me when travelling so I was very happy with that.

The building is quite old. The bed was decent in comfort. It did the job and overall I was quite satisfied.

Place has been refurbished I think. It’s a bit old and creaky but I liked it. Good value.

Location is great and the bed was very good plus lots of room in the double room.

Hot water took ages to come through in the shower, a good 10 minutes minimum, tap similar. No dedicated parking.

Very pleased, pleasantly surprised.

Lovely staff, great breakfast, freshly decorated. I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. For the money, I wasn't expecting that much, but it was clean and comfortable and recently decorated, and the breakfast was lovely. We had to ask for some shower gel as there wasn't any in the dispenser, and they brought it to our room in minutes.

This building was built back in the day, so soundproofing wasn't a big thing because people back then had manners! Not like the people on our floor who thought it acceptable to shout and crash about at 3 -4 am on Sunday morning. Not the hotels fault, obviously but an annoyance none the less. The age of the building also shows in the creaking floorboards, but otherwise, it was a great hotel, with all the charm of a traditional seaside weekend away, at a great price.

Amazing value for money in convenient, friendly hotel. All-you-can-eat breakfast!

Excellent value for money! Location was perfect for us, directly opposite the park (ideal for our dogs, which were welcomed in the hotel) but only a short walk down to the quay. Very friendly staff, especially at breakfast... happy to chat to guests, nothing too much trouble. We even had our own private area at breakfast, due to having dogs with us. The room was perfect, with a bath and shower (hot water) and central heating; it faced the road, but surprisingly there was no traffic noise. Would love to return.

Parking was limited, but we were lucky to get a space in the car park (small charge). There would have been some street parking not far away.

stayed here a couple of times with work the hotel is ok but is becoming dated, the carpet is fraying and faded and wallpaper is peeling, shower is dated and is just a trickle of water, but its ok for what i need just would nt want to stay here if I was on hoiday

Excellent experience at this hotel, near to the beach and local bus services right outside.

Property is very good convenient to everything, tourist attractions,amusement and etc.

The only problem that I see is no one is coming to tidy or even change the cups in the bedroom because this is a hotel not self catering. House keeper is coming knocking the the at 5 or 6 pm which is time to rest after the long day walking.
