Not the Ritz but would definitely revisit

The location was brilliant, right by the sea, staff were really nice and helpful (sorry we didn’t get the lady’s name but she always chatted to us and took a genuine interest in our plans and gave us some good recommendations of where to eat), also it was very reasonably priced. Don’t know about the breakfast as we didn’t eat there as we don’t get up very early on holiday!

Just a few things that could have been improved with a bit of maintenance in the room, a stain on the carpet where a previous occupant had missed a bin with a tea bag, another stain where the radiator had leaked, rusty toilet seat and no hot water from the shower at certain times of day.

Having read some negative reviews was pleasantly surprised

Nice room at front of hotel, great location couple of minutes walk up to high street with shops and pubs or along to harbour area. Since hotel was not that busy out of season breakfast was cooked to order rather than buffet, generous portion served by friendly member of staff.

I had booked for two people but my wife was ill and couldn't come, thought would have been straight forward to knock off price of one breakfast at the hotel but all had to be done via booking.com, but got sorted out in the end - just a bit of hassle after a long journey.

Decent, spacious, clean, great value for money

It was a large spacious room with a closet and desk. There was a kettle with a good amount of coffee and tea. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. The bed was okay but pillow was a bit too soft. It is a great value for money and located at an excellent location. Cleanliness is a massive plus point for me when travelling so I was very happy with that.

The building is quite old. The bed was decent in comfort. It did the job and overall I was quite satisfied.

Communication needs improvement.

I waited more than 5 minutes for someone to show up at reception when I arrived for check in at the prearranged time. There was a lift to my floor, but it didn't go anywhere near my room. I had to go up and down 3 separate flights of stairs after using the lift, as several houses of different levels were joined to become one hotel. It's a nightmare for someone with mobility issues. I ordered breakfast for the next morning, and staff were surprised when I showed up. The breakfast order was not forwarded. Communication is poor here.

Place has been refurbished I think. It’s a bit old and creaky but I liked it. Good value.

Location is great and the bed was very good plus lots of room in the double room.

Hot water took ages to come through in the shower, a good 10 minutes minimum, tap similar. No dedicated parking.

Very pleased, pleasantly surprised.

Lovely staff, great breakfast, freshly decorated. I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. For the money, I wasn't expecting that much, but it was clean and comfortable and recently decorated, and the breakfast was lovely. We had to ask for some shower gel as there wasn't any in the dispenser, and they brought it to our room in minutes.

This building was built back in the day, so soundproofing wasn't a big thing because people back then had manners! Not like the people on our floor who thought it acceptable to shout and crash about at 3 -4 am on Sunday morning. Not the hotels fault, obviously but an annoyance none the less. The age of the building also shows in the creaking floorboards, but otherwise, it was a great hotel, with all the charm of a traditional seaside weekend away, at a great price.

Amazing value for money in convenient, friendly hotel. All-you-can-eat breakfast!

Excellent value for money! Location was perfect for us, directly opposite the park (ideal for our dogs, which were welcomed in the hotel) but only a short walk down to the quay. Very friendly staff, especially at breakfast... happy to chat to guests, nothing too much trouble. We even had our own private area at breakfast, due to having dogs with us. The room was perfect, with a bath and shower (hot water) and central heating; it faced the road, but surprisingly there was no traffic noise. Would love to return.

Parking was limited, but we were lucky to get a space in the car park (small charge). There would have been some street parking not far away.

stayed here a couple of times with work the hotel is ok but is becoming dated, the carpet is fraying and faded and wallpaper is peeling, shower is dated and is just a trickle of water, but its ok for what i need just would nt want to stay here if I was on hoiday

Rooms were not very clean. The shower was not clean. Lift very small and had to wait quite often.

Property is very good convenient to everything, tourist attractions,amusement and etc.

The only problem that I see is no one is coming to tidy or even change the cups in the bedroom because this is a hotel not self catering. House keeper is coming knocking the the at 5 or 6 pm which is time to rest after the long day walking.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Full of joy morning and night.

So no open for guests on thr friday night. Rooms were very out dated compared to photos on webiste. Broken beds. Paint hangin of walls. Hooks for towels broken. No window in toilet. Damp patches in rooms. Hallway carpet 1920s. Hotel needs a repaint and refurbed. Also states sea view available on website. No room has a seaview.

Spacious rooms and friendly customer service on arrival.

Stating £10 per dog during the booking process would have been helpful. As this added £20 on plus £16 to park near the hotel, so these extra’s added greatly to the cost of the stay.

It's not a recommended place to stay for a nice holiday

Near to seaside, but not very clean, an old building with a very strong odour, especially on the corridors. Poor isolation, waking up at 2 am. by others guests from next door.

Poor hygiene, towels not changed in 3 days. Strong odours, very old building structures, and windows were very old, wind was blowing up the thick curtains

No WiFi, no TV, and a terrible night sleep.

The WiFi 'didn't stretch' to the 2nd floor. The tv in room 207 was not working (flickering screen). The walls were so thin I could hear everything the people above me and next to me were doing. People in the room above me were loud from 3.30-5.30am, so I asked the night staff to ask them to be quiet, but he declined, saying he could not leave his position at the front desk. I would not stay at this hotel again, and I would not recommend it.

Breakfast ok. However, the hotel was not properly refurbished as I was informed on the phone. Carpets were dirty and were rundown. The furniture and doors, paintwork was shabby, and no AC. The hotel needs to be cleaned and modernised.

Ideal location, friendly staff but the rooms are just a bit tired

It was close to everything we needed and short walk to the quay. The buffet breakfast was lovely and we were able to book this on the morning. The staff on reception were very welcoming/friendly and helpful after a slight issue with our parking.

The room was very hot and stuffy even with a fan (though it was extremely hot outside). The shower cubicle is very small, so difficult to move about if needed to once inside. There were no hand towel rails by the sink. We paid for breakfast but nobody even checked that we had paid - anyone could easily just walk in and help themselves.

Everything. Never known such rudeness in my life. I am not one too judge by reviews but my god this place is bad, For instance my room wasn't ready at 3.00pm at 3.20pm I asked how long and they told me very rudely that it can be anytime after 3.00pm even though it states check in is avaliable from 3.00pm. Would never stay here again they even demanded I wore my shirt whilst in the hotel which is poposterous in 32° whilst they have women outside sunbathing with there privates on show. Very judging place only like women. Never again. (P.S THIS IS THE FIRST REVIEW I HAVE EVER FELT I HAVE HAD TOO DO) also no windows very hot

Basica hotel for cheap prices

Could be so nice

The Dining Room and the Lobby looked nice and looked as though it had been done up recently.

The single room I was in was dated, and small. Little things like no teaspoon to stir your coffee, no fan in the room even though it was really stuffy. A couple of bits of furniture had foreign writing on, which looked totally out of place. The furniture was dark, and to negotiate the shower down onto the floor, was risky, ad it had such tall step. The room also, wasn't like any I had seen on the website, all modern and not dated.

Very relaxing and entertaining weekend with the Morris Dancing around the area. All nice.

We just had a very enjoyable weekend at the Dilkhusa Grand Hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful, the room was very clean with nice views.

We were happy nothing to be unhappy about. All good.
