An exceptional place, we loved everything about JW Marriott, Venice.

We truly loved our time at the JW Marriott in Venice. The island was beautifully kept in all aspects, as you would expect from a high-end Marriott. It felt like a special place. The grounds were lovely, the restaurants, food, and refreshments were top notch. The outdoor pool was very relaxing with great views. Our room was superb, a ground floor with an outdoor private garden. We will never forget our visit and the boat trip from the hotel to the main venice hub was a memorable experience. On the last day we booked a private taxi as we had 3 suit cases and it was a great personal experience that will live with us forever. We can not wait to go back to this special hotel. 10/10!

Second time and planning to come back to enjoy the tranquility on the island. Very friendly staff. Especially, Luca at the pool. And best cappuccino!

Prices at restaurants, for water and coffee are high. Food choice is rather limited.

A beautiful luxury hotel on its own island a stones throw from the heart of venezia

This is the perfect location to stay when you have a couple days in Venice. you can get in and out of Venice easily and its a welcome escape to sit at the pool in between discovering the very busy (and hot!) town.

The kids pool was heated and a bit too warm. That said when we were there is was 35C check-in took a bit too long but was forgvable.

The price of a 5-star for an overall 3-star experience

Secluded + shuttle every 30min

The family suite was dark, no view with a v strong smell of chemical (prob cleaning product) - def not worth the price. The pool on the rooftop has a beautiful view of Venice but it is small and not available to kids - they have to go to the family pool on the ground floor at the end of the property (no view), and so have their parents. The style of the facilities, lobby, common areas, is cheap and not up to a 5-star hotel. Finally, as hotel guest, we had to negotiate to be able to get a table on the rooftop restaurant. The breakfast was also average for that level of accomodation (eggs not cooked as per request, fruits served were too green to be eaten). Way below expectations.

It is not well maintained, walls look worn out, curtains are ripped and instead of replaced, they are sewed and the rooms are not clean, the carpet is dirty also! Bedsheets had a strange smell, not fresh or clean.

Our stay at JW Marriott Venice was an experience we’ll never forget. Everything about this resort radiates luxury, serenity, and thoughtful hospitality. The location is absolutely unique — set on its own private island, it offers the perfect balance between peaceful seclusion and easy access to the heart of Venice. The complimentary water shuttle, running every 30 minutes, was incredibly convenient and reliable, making the journey to and from the main city both smooth and scenic. One of the first things that struck us was the beauty of the grounds. The resort is surrounded by lush gardens and beautifully landscaped paths filled with vibrant flowers — it truly felt like a private paradise in full bloom. The staff were outstanding: warm, professional, and always eager to help. Their attention to detail and commitment to guest comfort were evident in every interaction. Our room was impressively spacious — far beyond what we expected in Venice. It was tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, and flooded with natural light. The modern design combined with high-end amenities made it a joy to return to after a day out. The resort amenities were equally top-tier: from the luxurious spa and wellness facilities to the spectacular rooftop infinity pool with panoramic lagoon views. Every corner of the property was designed with elegance and relaxation in mind. Breakfast was another daily highlight, offering a wide and generous selection — from freshly baked pastries and fruits to hot dishes and live cooking stations. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented.

If there’s one area that didn’t quite match the otherwise impeccable experience, it was the service at the rooftop restaurant, Sagra. Although the views and ambiance were wonderful, the service was noticeably slow and a few mistakes were made with our order. Still, this was a small blemish on what was otherwise a flawless stay. JW Marriott Venice is a rare gem — combining space, beauty, and tranquility with outstanding service and convenience.

Nice but more American than Venetian

The private island setting is magical, with an amazing view from the rooftop restaurant and pool towards San Marco. The staff go out of their way to help, especially Soda in the Sagra restaurant, and all the staff in Dopolavoro; the food in Dopolavoro is exceptional. The spa is also relaxing and the gym is quiet. The private shuttle to San Marco is regular and easy to find. Late check-out is possible.

The hotel's culture is very American, sometimes verging on sycophancy; tips are requested on everything and there are extra charges (e.g. just to use the sauna, use a bicycle, restaurant 'cover' charges, arrival deposit etc); food portions in Sagra are excessive (part of a general disregard for sustainability); guests around the rooftop pool tended to be loud and inconsiderate. The rooms are a little bland for the price.

Breakfast was great. Dinner options v limited with children. Burger on rooftop bar tasted fine but was not hot when served. Staff v good. Got the impression concierge had preferred restaurants in Venice to book. Better options on booking apps. We had dinner in room on final night which was average. Staff excellent, room carpet and mattress needs an upgrade, it sinks by morning. Terrible experience with heating and cooling, only heating allowed and that even did not work well.

Not worth it. Stay in Venice with cheaper options and better views

The initial image is misleading, as it suggests a luxurious experience. However, the premium view and level of luxury are only provided with an additional charge of 300 euros. Without this upgrade, access to the property is through a side entrance, which is a far cry from what is portrayed in the photos. Also we were told about the heated pool, it wasn’t heated in any way.

The room was not as good as I was expecting for the price and for been a deluxe . Small and not up to the standard of a J W Marriott. Hotel itself is very outdated. The location is a little inconvenient even do the free transfer to San Marco was excellent.

Room was next to a store so it was very noisy - lots of banging and shouting early in the morning Tea, milk and coffee were not refilled in the room Bathrobes were not replaced in the room There were ants in the room TV only had two international channels - CNN and world news!

Very Disappointed!

I am very sad to be writing this review. We are having so much issues from the first day of our stay til the last day, ie shower not working, mattress very filmy, housekeeping not cleaning the room properly etc but the staff did nothing to amend the situation, definitely not a 5 stars standard.

Ok place if you want to blow cash on a place to sleep and visit Venice all day long.

Other guests monopolized staff with unnecessary, selfish requests. Only met a few people who weren’t trying to prove how rich they were. Very snobbish. Complicated getting back and forth to the island, not hard, it just make things more difficult. Don’t think it was worth the money cause most of the time we weren’t in the island.
