The brothers Owner (Dego) took care of our stay, even that he had his own Villas he had to handle during that stay.
- Communication was very mixed, somehow it was the owner we had to talk to but somehow it was in the responsibility of the owners brother.
- The booking don’t include a private bathroom in the first place (some room a few doors next to the bedrooms, in very questionable conditions). We got the possibility to change the rooms because we were the only guests.
- The double bed rooms aren’t in a good condition.
- The tours we got arranged were not as we expected, but the brother and the sister in law of the owner provided us as a compensation a delicious breakfast.

The sheets were clean and so was the floor.
No welcoming tea or coffee, no breakfast (even though that was paid for) surroundings disorganised and dirty. There was a toilet but not a flush one and there was one shower for half a dozen rooms down two sets of steps that were not undercover. I ate some plain coconut biscuits from the store up the road for dinner and boiled some water to dampen my towel to wash in the morning. Worst of all there was no lock at all on my door! When I asked the old gentleman (in signs)where it was he shrugged and indicated I should pray! The upside was the sunset and sunrise walks through the town were interesting.
The road from Sideman had been made impassable after a slip and my driver had to go a very long route to get to Bangli. It was beautiful even in the rain but the back road was steep and had holes in some places large enough to break an axle. Bangli is not,NOT, an interesting stopover en route back to the airport as I had imagined, but another traditional mountain town that was expensive to get out of! I’m sure there are beautiful walks and waterfalls and interesting things to learn but my stay at D’Sari Undisan will ensure I never return.

****We were upgraded to "D SARI WOODEN House" which is on the same property as D'SARI UNDISAN Houses. Anything to do with the room is about D SARI WOODEN House (search this name on booking.com to find it), but the rest of our experience still applies to this guesthouse.****
Made, the guesthouse owner, is extremely hands-on with his guests. He makes sure anyone staying has a local experience in Undisan and showed us around the village during our stay. He took us to his family's temple ceremony (which we never would have experienced on our own), took us to a coffee farm to do an amazing tasting, organized a silver ring making workshop in the village (instead of us driving all the way to Sidemen) and showed us to some local waterfalls.
The wooden house we were upgraded to is 100% the extra cost. It's beautiful inside, spotlessly clean, and the bed is massive and so comfortable. The semi-outdoor bathroom is very nice as well.
You can rent a motorbike for 100K a day (about $6 USD), which is necessary to get around during your stay, unless you are willing to pay for a driver. There are no warungs within easy walking distance, so having a motorbike made our stay much more enjoyable.
You can also do cooking classes and other cultural activities while you are here - just ask! If you are looking for a very local stay away from the party and over tourism of Bali, this is it.
We were not told how much the motorbike rental and ring making workshop were beforehand, but we easily could have asked. Just make sure you ask questions before joining any activities if you are on a budget.

It was a great pleasure to meet Made and his family. They were incredibly generous and helpful, they kindly invited us to join them for their ceremony at their temple, where we were introduced to many of their extended family, and had the details of the ceremony explained to us. A fascinating experience. This is the real Bali, in a small town with almost no tourists. If you're looking for a genuine Bali experience then this is your opportunity.
Nothing, all good.

I stayed two nights in D’Sari Undisan Houses and it was absolute worth it.
The whole family is welcoming. The room is very spacious. I was able to spend few hours in the second guesthouse with the rice field view, absolutely beautiful. You can order some food and everything was really good as well.
Then I did a Silver Class with a friend of the owner (specific price), and then Balinese activities with an other one (donation, it was amazing). He is really helpful with what you want to do, and you can also rent a scooter and go around to waterfalls, nature, villages…
If you want to see the real Bali, don’t hesitate to come here! Thanks again!!

Lovely little place to stay away from the busy tourist areas. A more authentic Bali experience close to Mt Batur. Basic facilities but comfortable and amazing staff who us helped organise tours and transport. Thank you 😊
No air conditioning.

We had an amazing time staying with Komang and his family, they were so welcoming. We stayed for 4 nights and got to experience real Balinese culture way more than anywhere else we’ve been in Bali. They always gave us tea coffee drinking water and fruit free of charge.
Komang showed us around the area including his farm which was beautiful and has an amazing view of the rice terraces. We also did a cooking class with them one evening which was great. Hot shower was a very nice surprise!
The room smelled slightly damp but it wasn’t a big issue.

Very nice & cozy place ! The family is so kind, helpful and welcoming ! We had the opportunity to discover their culture and to discuss with them. We had the chance to visit waterfalls with the host as well !
The location is quite far away from Sidemen and taxis can be expensive

The experience at D'Sari homestay was amazing and Komang and his family were very welcoming.
This is a real Balinese experience and no tourists.
Komang was incredible and we spent and amazing morning with him around the area.
I wish I could have spent more time there.
Highly recommend staying here if you are looking to meet a great local family.

It is beautiful on outside, looks like a temple and the family are so lovely, they gave us fruit and were so helpful trying to sort out activities and giving us recommendations.
There was no aircon in the room, our bad for not reading and the toilets are what you pay for.

I can’t even describe the hospitality of this family by words. They are so nice! The place is very basic, balinese style. The owner arranged massage for us, took us to the temple for ceremony, coffee plantation (must visit) and some other actvities! Very nice experience!

It is very simple place to stay but so enriched by local people, owners and their family that you feel so good there. The room is ok, no hotel quality, even bathroom and WC is shared outside so you can't have very high requirements but for this price it is very good. We got special food in the morning because it was beginning of Gulingan so family offered us the traditional food and we had it outside with coffee and nice talk with them. So easy accommodation with perfect people and very local experience! If I go back I would go there again and meet this family again :)

I had a wonderful stay at the D'sari house. The owner were friendly and welcoming, in fact he is one of the most friendly and welcoming Person I've ever met. He invited me to join the local ceremony, to enjoy the meal with his family and showed me secrete spots in his village.
The breakfast was delicious and the garden was a lovely place to relax and Chat with other travelers. I highly recommend this guesthouse for a peaceful and comfortable stay and if you want to know more about the local culture.

The warmth with which I was greeted and treated thought my stay is something one can hardly put into words. From the first moment I felt like an honorary family member and everyone at D'sari Undisan was pleased to try and give me the best time possible. Great place for anybody thinking of hiking up Mt. Agung. Komang and his family will happily arrange everything for you and go beyond your expectations.
Literally nothing. There's nothing I didn't like.

10*** for having a trekking pole right in the room!
What a bonus! It just saved me while hiking to the top of Agung.
The stuff is great too, the whole family!
The toilet/shower is outside, cold water only.

The whole family invites you in and makes you one of their own. Many delicious foods from the local warungs but I suggest eating the food at the homestay and they will teach you how to cook it too! It is top notch. The family will give you a real Balinese experience away from the crowded streets of Denpasar and Ubud! Whether from visiting the local markets and mingling with locals, attending ceremonies and festivals, seeing the lush land with many beautiful waterfalls within a walk or short motorcycle ride, or a trip to the family rice field to hang out with the pigs, chickens, and cows amongst durian fruit, pineapple, and coconut trees!! This is a must see for the real Bali!

If you're looking for an immersion experience with a local Indonesian family then this is the place for you. Made really cares that you enjoy staying in his homestead and likes spending time with you telling stories and teaching you words from the Balinese language and culture. His family is all very nice and polite and they make delicious food. Made even offers a food prep and cooking class. He speaks good English.
As one of the other guests put it, it's a step up from a hostile. It's a good deal for the price you pay for the room, but the bathroom is an outdoor shared bathroom that I wasn't very fond of.

- The owner, Made, is super nice! Will help arrange transportation for you, teach you about the local culture & language, and provides complimentary tea, coffee, and water. He will also provide meals for an extra charge. Speaking with the owner and the other guests was the highlight of our trip.
- Has a free Balinese cooking class, we didn’t get to try it but I wish we had time to
- Room is clean, and has lots of outlets which is hard to find. Our room even had a travel adapter for electronics!
- Bathroom is also very clean.
- Provides towels, soap, shampoo
- Oh, and theres a super cute and friendly dog that you can hang out with.
- Breakfast and dinner is an extra charge, but I recommend it anyways. best nasi goreng Ive had so far
- No hot water or plumbing toilets. It’s nothing fancy but its typical for the price point and type of accommodation. Its nothing you won’t get used to.

The host was very friendly and I chatted with him for a long time. Learned a lot about Balinese culture from him. Thanks a lot for that!
The room we had had several issues: Paint was coming off the wall, no shelf-space whatsoever, dusty cobwebs on the nightstand lamps, dusty decoration pillows on the bed. The shower had only cold water and the toilet had no flush but one had to pour water from a bucket in (it kinda works but it still felt weird for me - other places in bali do not have this).
