Fujikawaguchiko Onsen Hotel Asafuji

Onsen facilities were fantastic with great views and really clean. Food was really delicious and plentiful, and they accommodated dietary requirements.

Some of the group found the photos misleading and the room to be smaller than expected, and once the futon beds were arranged, there was not much room to move or to sit and socialise. Some of the group found the futons quite uncomfortable.

Very responsive via email, friendly staff, comfortable futons, amazing view from room and hot spring bath, and exceptional food.

Only thing I didn't like was having to leave.

Where to start. First of all everything was outstanding. The staff. They were friendly, helpful and spoke good English. They were very accommodating to any questions or inquiries. They also had a free Udon tasting trial, a Yukata trial wear, so that you can get to experience Japanese traditions. The hotel room. It was as described. A old-style Japanese room, modern amenities were available. Electricity was available, it had air conditioning, bathrooms were old style, but still modern. The Ryokan. It was very good, the view from the 4th floor was superb and it was open for a long time, so you didn’t feel the need to rush your experience. Instructions for people who aren’t familiar with the rules for Ryokans are also provided. The food. We took only breakfast, so I can’t speak for the dinner, but the breakfast was good. It was traditional Japanese cuisine, it was good and was very plentiful. For us after eating breakfast, we would feel full until the evening.

To be honest. I really can’t add anything meaningful as to what I didn’t like. Maybe it was a bit weird that some pieces of food in the breakfast were served chilled, but they didn’t taste bad.

The view of the room is unbeatable and you can see Mt. Fuji outside your window.

The hotel facilities are kind of old. It didn't fully meet my expectations with the price I paid. But it's understandable that the hotels in this area are overpriced, given the location.
