Gorgeous rooms with beautiful views! Staff were attentive and kind. The area was fun and plenty to do in sight of Mt Fuji without having to go out to the other attractions. Dinners were beautiful and felt incredibly high end with our party in a private room and our own server. Breakfast were a perfect mix of Japanese and western offerings which catered to all of our party’s tastes.
The futons and pillows in the Japanese style rooms were probably the least comfortable in all of our experiences. The futon was egg carton kind of foam, which was not as comfortable as a the flat futons we slept on elsewhere. The laundry facilities are also very limited, so prepare for competition for coin machines if that is a need.

Onsen was great – combination of outdoor and various indoor one with massage chair. So relaxing
The lake wiew was great
Nice bathroom area (spacious with chairs)
First of all, the staff – I feel they had a lot of beginners who were very nervous (and I felt so sorry for them) and lack of coordination somehow.
Second, just the general feel of the hotel (expecially comparing to other ryokans I stayed at) – felt detached, plastic in a way. Like you see it is nice, but no warmth or what....
Third, the food – while it looked amazing – was ordinary in taste somehow...
