It is spacious! With an opportunity to live like a local Japanese and play with retro gadgets. Arcade game, video games, piano are there for you to use. Everything works well, and gas heaters were provided in many rooms (which were very helpful in Spring weather). Amenities and towels are given. The cleanliness is quite good (although not “sparkling clean” which is understandable with the retro-style house with tatami and paper doors). Even our kids (those have allergy and they can easily got itchy when exposed to the dust) are fine with the level of cleanliness. Good value for a place to stay in Kawaguchiko!
Downstairs is a little bit cold in the night and morning (it’s about 6-8 Celsius outside) and you’ll have to walk past those cold corridors to get to the restroom. The windows are equipped with window blinds, in which some of them can be operated with difficulties. They also can only partially block out the outside light and we ended up waking at 05:00 am because it is bright in the room. Would be better if the host can install blackout curtains, especially in the bedroom!
