The big downside was we had a room with a bad view. They have rooms that face the lake which would have been much better. So if you go here, ask for the lake view. They have wonderful spas and the food and customer service is very good. Wonderful traditional Japanese food. Nice downtown area though it closes by 5 pm. Very near the train station and they have a shuttle to pick you up. The spas were very nice including a stone tub with hot water.

Honestly the highlight of our entire trip. One night and it exceeded every single expectation we had. The kaiseki dinner was absolutely brilliant. The in-room private onsen facing the lake was just incredible. And the staff were something else, so kind, so attentive, so genuinely invested in making sure we had the best time. One night was nowhere near enough but they made every moment of it count. 100% recommended. Do not even think twice about it.
