The staff were great, good secure building and great location.
Sleeping in the top bunk but they fixed that and got me a bottom bunk.

Great location
It was all good
4.0 / 10.0
It was located in the main area of San Ignacio
The bed was very unstable, so every time someone moved, the whole bed would shake. The mattress was covered with a plastic sheet and a regular sheet on top, but because of the plastic layer, the sheets kept slipping out of place, which made it quite uncomfortable.
The male staff members were always friendly, but I found the female staff less welcoming. They didn’t greet us most of the time and didn’t seem very helpful when we asked questions. They also kept saying that cash was preferred, even though there is a card payment terminal available.
Before check-out time, staff would enter the room loudly to clean the bathroom and slammed the doors, which was quite disturbing. The bathroom door itself made a lot of noise, so you could hear it every time someone used it. The bathroom lights also couldn’t be turned off, so there was always some light shining into the room at night.
There was also no real atmosphere in the hostel, but that might have been because it wasn’t very busy during our stay.

Good value
Great location
Neat space and design
Helpful staff
Wifi weak in dorm
Can be noisy due to bar, movie nights, etc. Very much a social hostel, which isn’t my preference

The staff is great ! You feel very welcome from the very first moment!
They helped me out with the arrangement of my tours and they also did my laundry (for just 15bzd).
The location is just great. Very close to the main commercial street of San Ignacio.
The atmosphere was chill and I think everyone in the hostel could feel that.
They have a few cats that they take care of and they go around the hostel. They are adorable.
I also liked very much their kitchen. It is well equipped, it even has an orange juice squeezer (they offered oranges for free! How kind if them!), it is very spacious and it is outdoors, meaning that you can have the views and the clean air from outside as you cook and clean your dishes. The temperature is just perfect outside so for me cooking and cleaning felt less of a chore being in an environment like that!
In my dorm, each bed is surrounded by curtains, a very important detail that provides some valuable privacy.
Plug socket next to your bed is another element that makes your experience a bit more comfortable.
My dorm has room for 10 people and just one bathroom. This was a bit stressful for the times that everyone had to get ready for a tour or for a check out approximately at the same time.
There is another bathroom available at the common area of the hostel, but I don't think that this is enough either. This one is for the usage of all the guests of the hostel.
The bathroom is lovely and cleaned regularly, but the water of the shower was cold every single time. Despite the nice temperature of Belize, personally I couldn’t stand the temperature of the water in the shower.
Last but not least, the internet was not stable and it was slow.
I don't know if these issues can be fixed, but I believe that this is a good hostel and the people working there are in good spirits.

Location.
The guy staff member was very stiff with information about how to get to flores by public transport just suggested to book it through the hostel. The private room location is through the main dormitory and it's noisy. The bed had a mosquito net , which was a must as one of the closed windows had loads of cracks and no net. No hooks.

Location was great. Nice and close to town
Bed sheets - too thin and bottom sheet did not stay on so constantly exposed the plastic sheets covering the mattress.
Staff were pretty average with check out staff still highly stoned!

The hostel was nice and the staff was helpful. Fun activities and a clean kitchen were bonusses as well.
Noisy environment because the spaces are very open and you just hear everything. There is also not much to do so I would not recommend staying more than 2 nights.

5 dollar discount on ATM tour, clean, good facilities, very central, free welcome drink at the bar, etc.
Honestly, this could have been a nice hostel if there were other young people staying there, but I decided to move because there was no one young.

Lovely bar, good kitchen superb location and kind staff- even gave a free welcome drink at the bar and made popcorn for film night.Fror tours they offer a little discount and they are with a great tour provider. ATM caves was simply breathtaking! Oh and free avocados, spices and even green oranges- new to me were on offer. As we're sweet cars who liked cuddles. Thanks so much.
Needed a clean, someone to sort the kitchen daily and wipe down sides, clean toilets and make up empty beds. Please don't let this put you off.

Great social spaces, nice view from bar, very friendly and helpful staff, short walk to town centre, decent bathrooms.
Kitchen is a bit small for the number of beds, and we were allocated beds far away from where the AC was despite it being a mostly empty room.

Staff were really friendly and helpful, tours from the hostel, private room was good. Nice upstairs area and good central location
Nothing
6.0 / 10.0
The location is good, but anyway San Ignacio is so small (and is also the only safe, at least during the day, place in Belize mainland). The place is fairly clean and the kitchen is fully equipped (there is also some free fruits). The hotelier was responsive to the messages on booking.com app prior to my arrival, which is very important for the organization of the stay: there is nothing to see in San Ignacio itself, you have to use this place as a base to explore temples in the area, some of which can be visited also on you own, while for some others you need a tour (the hostel provide several of them, which have to be booked ahead). Bear in mind that no tours go to El Pilar as it is just way too risky for attacks, while the situation has improved for Caracol, for which there is no more armed car escorting tourist vans along the road like it was until the near past (now the temple is full of soldiers and the road is patrolled, but you are no longer escorted in columns of cars). Xunantunich can be reached by public bus (2,50$ each way) and you can go to Cahal Pech just on foot.
It is more a party hostel which is not my thing, but that’s a matter of taste. The real problems are others. The aircon in the room was way too strong: luckily, I got a bed in the mezzanine where the temperature was bearable. The are only very small lockers for valuables, not for the luggage) and almost all beds have no privacy curtains. Also, the elephant in the room: tour prices. The hostel will give you a discount with their friend tour company, but still the prices are crazy. They really take advantage of tourists.

Location and staff. Amber is awesome, she answers all the questions and helps with tours, laundry and anything else.
I stayed in the private room and above is dorm and when people walk it can get noisy.

Price and location
The springs came through the bed; the private room was not private but rather inside of a dorm; the staff was constantly smoking weed and evangelizing at the bar; the kitchen was a constant state of mess, mostly due to the staff cooking and leaving their pots, pans, plates, and food all astray; locals were hanging at reception smoking cigarettes and selling drugs—again, mostly to the staff
Not at all an inviting or comfortable space. Would not recommend.

Great location. Decent communal areas. Staff were friendly.
The whole property felt like it was in need of some serious TLC. The private room we booked was very dirty. The sheet was stained so we asked for a new one and the new sheet was also stained. The floors hadn’t been swept and the bathroom was in need of a deep clean. There were mosquitoes all over the room constantly and there was no way to fully close the windows in the bathroom. The curtains were somewhat see through so you didn’t really have any privacy. The bed was also very uncomfortable. The room we had is not pictured on the website so not sure if we just got unlucky but would not recommend.

Really nice atmosphere and the staff went above and beyond to help me out.

Good central location in Cayo, staff was friendly and had good recommendations for activities. Kitchen was nice with lots of spices to use. The private room was a bit outdated and the bed quite small. It has a a mosquito net but it’s at the end of the bed so can’t reach the other end and had a bunch of holes in it.

Quite a basic place with all the essentials, clean bathrooms and nice staff
Showers were only lukewarm at best. Though they offer breakfast, this is not a offering done with any conviction.

- the staff was really nice and helpful
- the kitchen was big and well equipped
- amazing outside area
- great location
- great activities in the evening
- the dorm had an aircon but my bed was under the roof it was boiling hot and nothing from the aircon came to our sleeping area. Because the stairs were really tiny it wasn't possible to take my backpack to my bed. (Note alle of the other bed would have been waaaay better, I was just a bit unlucky)
- the bathroom doors are quite thin and one can hear everything at any time

Good location, nice interesting building with different levels and places to hang out. Staff were friendly. My dorm room area was spacious.
Free rum punch which was good for socialising although the music was hideous and far too loud so we couldn’t chat! Then a film was put on so that was the end of any conversation BUT they served free popcorn which was fab!
My first night’s bed was so uncomfortable I had to change - they accommodated this and I slept much better!
The whole place needs a good clean. All the floors and surfaces are very dusty. Kitchen is a bit cramped and tired, and signs are needed to ensure people clean up properly after themselves. Needs a bit of an overhaul.
6.0 / 10.0
1) Beautiful birdsong in a tree on the property.
2) Oranges you can juice yourself, with a vintage-style juicer.
3) Hot and cold water refills.
4) Ample kitchen space.
5) Nice common area to hang out and make friends.
6) Easily accessible from the bus station, and surrounded by restaurants and grocery stores.
7) Sam who works as staff there was excellent, super helpful and friendly.
1) I was in a double room that had to be reached through a dorm, where internet did not reach.
2) The large wooden windows did not shut, scraped the ledges leaving powdery flakes and left space for mosquitoes.
3) Although there is a large mosquito net, it is cumbersome to get in and out of.
4) The receptionist took a 10 dollar deposit for an activity for the next day, there was no way to inform about cancelling it, and when I didn't go, the money was not returned. Also a little curt and unfriendly.
5) Copious leakage from the ceiling during rain and after, in a mouldy pool on the wooden floor.
6) Badly-designed space with difficult to access switches and charge points.
7) Mouldy, overused, cramped bathroom.
8) A very large part of the property is for a DJ-bar and chilling, but I didn't find it as welcoming.

Did all the basics well. Lower bunks had a curtain (not the top), plenty of plugs, lockers, water, and a nice upstairs area. It was cheaper booking ATM through them than direct with the tour provider. The location was central. The upstairs area is pretty nice although it doesn't seem to catch the breeze. Dorm A had AC although there was only one unit for three conjoined rooms so some beds would be blasted and others not reached much.
Be really careful with your laundry - luckily I had walked through the back and seen some of my pieces hanging up because when I asked at reception they just gave me the rest of it without mentioning them. Also some pieces had fallen in the dirt under the clothesline.
I booked a shuttle to Belize city through them that was pretty terrible - 9.30 pick-up only to drive us around the block to the office (literally a 4 minute walk on Google) where we waited 45 minutes for the shuttle to arrive from Guatamala. We missed the 12 noon ferry that some people had booked and it was all such a waste of time when I thought I'd paid for convenience - should have just taken the public bus.

Incredibly friendly hostel staff, Paydro, Ethan and Brodie were amazing. From Paydro's tattoos to nice hostel excursions to rum punch and evening activities, this hostel has it all. Clean and great facilities with great A/C in the rooms and nice location to the centre. Would highly recommend to any form of traveler.

The location was awesome and the staff was very kind and helpful.
Could be a little cleaner and to change the temperature on the shower you have to be quiet tall. I could not reach it and had to take an ice cold shower.

chilled vibe and good location
it smelled a lot of cat poo at the entrance. Kitchen quite dirty. Also, I believe the private room is too expensive. Operation wise it was a disaster

The hostal is a great, safe and central location. The building is so pretty, cozy and with a lot of common areas where it's easy to socialize. The staff is great, all the volounteers are amazing!
Nothing, everything was great!

Good location and good communal areas
The staff are horrendous. I chose to check out early because I felt so uncomfortable staying there. On my 2nd night at 1am one of the staff members (who had previously checked me in but had no other interactions) came onto my bed and woke me up my scratching my arm and shining in my face the Bella’s iPad. He was asking me to ‘go to his spot and chill’. Tired, shocked and shaken I obviously said no and he left but the following morning repeatedly walked past my bed staring at me. When I complained to the manager he lied and told me the guy didn’t work there and just hung out there (am obvious lie as he had checked me in, taken a card payment and showed me to the dorm). When I pointed this out the manager said he must have got me mixed up with someone else, gave no apology at all and didn’t offer to deal with the situation in any way. Avoid this place unless you like creepy guys who come onto your bed at night!

Loads of great areas to chill with hammocks. The staff were really helpful. Laundry service was a good price and quick, also smelt super clean and fresh. Amazing location, close to all restaurants. Perfect place to chill for a few days.
One toilet wasn’t working for the first day so was a bit inconvenient as there was only one other in on the ground floor. Luckily it was fixed fairly swiftly. Fans we’re pretty noisy in the room but did keep the room cool enough to sleep. Not really big cons though I would happily stay again!

the owner is the best guy ever! he hosted us like family. the vibes in this place are amazing and he organizes different activities every night for us.
the kitchen is well equipped
the private room has no private shower or restroom which was a little uncomfortable but it was fine

Good location, easy to walk everywhere. The staff was really nice and they give you great tips for tours and places to see around town. Bare in mind that it's a party hostel, so if you're not into partying and drinking, it might not be for you.
One of the worst dorms I've ever slept in, my bed was in the middle of the room straight next to the bathroom. I can normally sleep anywhere without any issues, but this mattress was the worst I've ever slept on (other guests were saying the same). I've left after one night even though I've paid for three.
