We stayed here in October 2025 for four nights. This boutique hotel shares a building with a small coffee shop and bakery, where you can conveniently charge items directly to your room. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance of many restaurants and tour operators. The staff was friendly and helpful—especially Carrol, who checked us in. The entire property was exceptionally clean—so much so that I wondered if we were the first guests to stay in our room! The welcome drink was a lovely surprise after a long day of travel, and the bar area was very nice. There’s a water purifier in the shared hallway, which was perfect for filling our reusable bottles. The area was quiet, and it was wonderful to enjoy coffee on our private balcony each morning. Free parking on the premises was another big plus. The only (very minor) downside is that the bakery/coffee shop doesn’t open until 8 a.m., and there aren’t bulk coffee or breakfast options early in the morning. However, there’s a single-cup coffee brewer in the room, and staff are happy to provide extra coffee packets. We’d absolutely stay here again—highly recommend!

Very nice stay. Close to many things in town but we had a rental car for farther away tourist spots. Friendly and helpful check in process. Welcome drinks, clean room and seemed very safe. One of the best things is they had a water filter station in the hallway. Was so nice to refill water bottles and not have to buy water every day. Nice large rainfall shower. Nice size tv in the room that you could put your Netflix or Prime accounts in. It’s not a resort with a pool but we throughly enjoyed it. There is no elevator which was fine for us. There was a refrigerator in the room. You did have to turn it on if you were going to use it. Very eco friendly. Would stay here again.

The perfect place to stay in San Ignacio! You can easily walk to the main streets of town, and it's only a short drive to places like Cahal Pech and Xunantunich. The staff was wonderful, and our room was a crisp, air-conditioned oasis after being out in the sunshine! Our room had a balcony, but there's also a nice shaded sitting area by the bar. Although we felt pretty safe anyways, they do have security after 8pm, which made us feel even better. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel, and I would definitely stay here again if I revisit San Ignacio.

Excellent property. Room was great. Very clean. Hotel staff was really helpful with restaurant recommendations and doing what they could for a late check out. Multiple restaurants within walking distance. Welcome drink was a nice surprise! Calpech was walkable, but would recommend taking a taxi to get there and walk back. The walk to get there was all up hill and it was hot!

My 5 night stay at the West House was fantastic. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating. They were happy to give recommendations or call ahead to set a dinner reservation for you.The room was spotless and the king bed was super comfortable. Water pressure and temperature were great in the shower. They offered a filtered water station out in the hall. This hotel is right on the outskirts of the little pedestrian business area, less than a 5 minute walk. This is as close to a 5 star experience as you can get in San Ignacio without staying at one of the resorts.

We did not arrive at the hotel until 8pm to find out that the front desk has closed, but luckily, the security guard was able to let us in…be aware that front desk closes at certain hours and the front door is locked at midnight for any late arrival. This small hotel was and still is newly constructed so it is very clean and well maintained without a moldy smell like you would find at older hotels. The hotel is located within a residential area so it is very quiet and only a 5 minutes walk to the town center. Room size we got was a good size with a small balcony area, unfortunately, it wasn’t too private, so we didn’t spend much time out there. Comfortable beds with very clean linens. Excellent working air conditioner and a small refrigerator. Hotel has an outdoor bar and lounge area on the second floor that we hung out a few times..Saturday afternoon has a live music dj with a great blend of tracks. Hotel could use some additional amenities like an outdoor mister at the bar/lounge when it’s 90+degrees and 80% humidity, have the check in desk opens slightly later, and definitely a small in-room coffee maker.

No elevator. Had to carry all cases up and down. Shower turns cold after first person to shower. Then need to wait 2 hours . Rooms were large, but they should put more seating like small sofa and coffee table. Location is good, in town of San Ignacio. Tiny village.

I was very pleased with our stay at West House. The establishment is new and exactly as pictured. I absolutely recommend this hotel for anyone to stay at. Pros: Near the center of town and within walking distance to many restaurants and other popular locations. The staff is amazing and offered great recommendations for restaurants, tours etc. Thank you Carroll & Jenny :) Evertything is brand new and clean, the decor is nice and modern. A small coffee shop downstairs called The Daily Grind serves great coffee and dessert. The patio area is relaxing and we enjoyed a few nights lounging and listening to the music. The only downside is that if you're interested in a pool the hotel does not have one. Aside from that we loved our stay and would certainly go back in the future.
