Great value for money and the staff is super friendly and helpful

The guesthouse was located just a little up the hill in San Ignacio which was totally fine and not a long walk to be in the center. The guesthouse is great value for money as it is clean, offers coffee in the morning and the owner and workers there are so friendly. They even booked us the ATM Tour which was absolutely great. Furthermore it is great that there is a pool you can use to cool you off. I would highly recommend.

Same hotel next time

Nice and helpful personel which is great added value to this small hotel.

Can be a bit noisy during night due to dog barking and noisy vehicles early in the morning, but it was stil a god choice since the other hotels probably have the same issue. I would choose Hilltop again.

Great stay for short term. Barking dogs all night every night.

The pool was great. Owners were super nice and accommodating, especially Ronnie. Room was spacious and bathroom clean. Good location.

Barking dogs all night. Not even exaggerating!!! The owners had dogs outside our room that slept all day and then the WHOLE neighbourhood of dogs would bark throughout the night till the early morning hours. I had to turn music/ waves on just to sleep. It was wild. Was there for four days. Each night exactly the same. I love dogs but this was intense.

Really Nice!

Sonia is an amazing host. We had some nice conversations and she arrangeur our booking to the ATM cave and gave us tips on what else to do. The swimming pool is a big plus, as it gets really hot in San Ignacio. The rooms are clean and equipped with many places to store your stuff and hang your clothes. The place is about a 5-10minute walk to the city center.

Amazing, would definitely recommend!

Very kind and helpful lady who runs it! She gave a lot of tips, there were books with info, coffee in the morning, you can use the fridge, … Pool is very nice and clean! If you climb up to the second balcony you can watch the sunset 👍

The shower could use an upgrade, but it works.

relaxing atmosphere

The host is amazing. Very kind woman, very helpful. She gave us lots of info about place to eat, to visit, how to use the bus etc. She also let us using the swimming pool anytime we wanted with no restriction. I also really like the terrace and the hammock on the terrace. The location is slightly downtown but you can walk down very quick and take the bus for few BZD. The bus stops very close. Nice bakery on walking distance and the chocolate factory.

A fantastic stay in a lovely guesthouse - the best staff!

A fantastic stay - the staff are extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful and were a real highlight of our stay. The room is spacious with plentiful amenities and a very comfortable bed. We didn’t even use the pool due to our sunburn - but it looked extremely inviting!

Nothing - for those who have mobility issues it is truly ‘hilltop’ from the town centre, so is a 10 min walk uphill if going down there.

Home away from home

I love that the property is close to the highway. It made it easier to get off the bus and walk there. There is also a nice refreshing pool that is perfect for days with heat like this. Rooms are super clean and fresh linen. The Staff was amazing and made me feel at home. At the end of the day you can see the sunset from the top floor.

We loved our stay at Hilltop Horizon Guesthouse. The owners are amazing people who help you make the most of your stay with great recommendations and their warm personalities. The rooms are well appointed and maintained and the pool is lovely after a day of exploring in the heat. Highly recommend staying here as your base for exploring the beautiful area around San Ignacio.

Stay at 'the dog Momma's' place!

"The Dog Momma" as she is known because of her group that helps lady street doggies also REALLY helped me out during my stay halfway up the hill in San Ignacio. She personally took me to three places to try to get cash out or cash back because I was having difficulty with the pin on my VISA cards! This was service above and beyond!

Excellent place to stay in San Ignacio. They helped us to organise an ATM caves tour, and the company we went with were exceptional. The facilities at the guesthouse are great, and the pool is lovely. The manager is very helpful, and was always available when we needed her. Thanks so much.

A nice and comfortable stay, with really kind staff!

Due to a strike and border closure my sister and I had to find an accommodation last minute in San Ignacio and were so glad to come across this hotel. The price was very fair, there was a lovely pool outside and the staff were really kind and helpful with restaurant recommendations and letting us store our luggage. We would happily stay there again next time we are in Belize.

Great personable staff that ensures your comfort at every opportunity. The location still feels close to the downtown area without actually being caught up in the hustle and bustle. Overall this is a great value. If you want an all-inclusive resort go find something else that’ll cost 7 times as much, but if you want a good, clean, and safe place to crash after a long day of touring this is your place.

Conviviale et fonctionnelle 🙏

Premièrement, l'hospitalité et la gentillesse du personnel. Toujours le sourire et toujours près à nous aider en tant que touriste 😂 10/10. Une famille vraiment adorable. Nous avons tout aimé. La piscine sous 35 degrés était vraiment nécessaire, il n'y avait pas trop de monde, ou peut-être on a eu de la chance mais pendant 2 jours on était tranquille ! La petite cuisine est supeeeeer fonctionnelle, tout équipé, parfait pour cuisiner sois même. Il a aussi déjà des condiments de base (épices, huiles, café, thé...) et un grand frigo à votre disposition. Les chambres étaient propres ainsi que la salle de bain, clim, tvb Het eau chaude!! 👌🏽 Enfin voilà, on a adoré !

Le seul petit truc à redire malheureusement c'est les chiens qui aboyent la nuit ... Si vous êtes aussi sensible au bruit ainsi que sensible au bien être animal c'est vrai que cela rend un peu triste ... Mais c'est ainsi ! Mais avec seulement des boules quies, les nuits étaient très bien !

Sonia und ihr Sohn sind extrem gastfreundliche Gastgeber, die jederzeit mit Rat und Tat zur Seite stehen. Auch Buchungen für Transfers und Unternehmungen durchführen. Pool zur Erfrischung steht zur Verfügung, außerdem Kaffee gratis am Morgen.

Die Lage auf dem Hügel ist für weniger fitte Menschen nicht ganz optimal, dafür hat man es nach Cahal Pech nicht mehr weit.

Gute Zeit in San Ignacio

Sehr saubere Unterkunft mit ausgesprochen freundlichen und hilfsbereiten Menschen! Alles wurde für uns recherchiert und gebucht. Wirklich klasse! Der Pool ist nach einem heißen Tag wirklich super. Die Lage ist etwas außerhalb von San Ignacio aber auf dem Weg nach Cahal Pech und Xunantunich, es wehte eine angenehme Brise auf dem Berg.

La piscine est très propre et se baigner en fin de journée était très appréciable après avoir beaucoup marché sous la chaleur. La famille qui gère l'établissement est très sympatique, et ils ont pu me commander un repas à livrer comme les restaurants à proximité étaient fermés (dimanche soir). La chambre et les locaux sont propres, et l'eau de la douche chaude. Excellent rapport qualité-prix pour San Ignacio.
