Very fun atmosphere at the hostel, and very helpful to get you onto the tours you want (make sure to book the ATM cave tour through them as they enter the site first in the morning). Also the tipsy tubing with Bubbles was a highlight, met a lot of fellow backpackers and broke the ice on our first day! Would defo recommend!
There aren’t a lot of bathrooms/showers for the amount of guests so try to shower off peak hours.

San Ignacio is a quiet town at night, but they do have party opportunities

The hostel is great, the owner Bubbels is an awesome guy! The rooms are quiet and good to sleep, showers are hot. Behind the house is a small cute bar. The common room has an awesome view and the breakfast is just incredible. It was an awesome time staying here!!!

Great hostel, staff were super friendly and very helpful! The place has a great vibe, with lots of like minded travellers coming and going, helped by a great communal area for meeting other backpackers and grabbing a drink

Not much
I got bitten by bedbugs. Then i checked the mattress and found some bedbugs and bedbug droppings in the seams. At first i thought it was isolated, but then near the end of my stay, i talked to another guest who stayed in another room and she also had bedbugs. So the hostel is infested.
Also I once got woken up around 3 AM because an employee (or maybe it was the owner, someone referred to him by the nickname "bubbles") of the hostel was blasting music from a speaker that was next to our window on the other side of the wall. Couldn't sleep much afterwards. The hostel has quiet hours but they were ignored by the staff of the hostel to have a loud party at 3 AM.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Nice clean hostel with a great breakfast, activities and a pool table which I used daily. Damian was an awesome guide on the ATM cave tour. Thanks to Bubbles and all the rest of the crew!!!!
It was great.

This hostel is a gem! Having stayed in many hostels, I have never had an experience like I did here. The owner, Bubbles, went out of his way to ensure that we had a good time, arranged tours for his guests, got his guests involved in different activities, took us to different places to eat. The hostel was very clean and the staff was friendly. I would definitely stay here again and again if I could!
Nothing!

Really gorgeous hostel. Super friendly team working there who will help you make your plans and sort some great tours for you, directly from the hotel. Everything is really clean, the beds are so comfortable and have a little curtain for privacy and a fan each. Beautiful communal area with hammocks, pool table, games and a bar. Great atmosphere and easy to meet new friends! The breakfast included is delicious and generous. Perfect location too, just a 15min walk into town. Ending up staying 5 instead of 2 nights because I loved it here so much. Definitely stay next time I’m in San Ignacio!

Great breakfast and fun activities every evening. The owner really made an effort to make everyone feel welcome, comfortable and to have fun! Good location right next to Cahal Pech ruins. Had an amazing time on all the tours everyday, tubing, caving, waterfalls... I didn't want to leave!

Very positive experience! The hostel was perfectly clean, and the staff were so helpful and friendly. The internet worked fast. The location outside the city center is actually a big plus – the bus stops very close by; you just need to take it from the next stop, not the main one. It’s also only about an 8-minute walk to the Mayan ruins and quite close to the Iguana Conservation Project. Near to hostel you can find full meals for 8-12 Belizean dollars.
Breakfast was a great surprise: an open buffet with scrambled eggs, frijoles, toast, jam, and a wide selection of toppings for muesli + coffee and juices. For this price, it was really a very good and generous option. Highly recommended!

The free breakfast was great considering the price. Fresh eggs, cereals, bread, nuts, juice, etc. It was buffet style. The staff were lovely at the hostel. There are curtains and the room felt clean.
Small cockroaches running around the common area, but saw none in the bedrooms.

It’s a great hostel with good breakfast. The staff were really nice and the ATM tour they offered was amazing!
Nothing really negative but the walk into town is about 15 minutes and the way back is uphill (but because of this it is much more quiet than other hostels in town)

I enjoyed staying at Yellow belly backpackers. It was great to be out of the town but still in walking distance. Great to be able to walk to one of the Mayan ruins and a quick hop down the road to another. The breakfasts were nice to be able to eat when walking up and not have to go in search of food!!
Unfortunately, I got bitten a lot there. They really try everything in their power to clean well but I guess people bring in insects from outside.

Free walking tour of the town was great
Basic breakfast and not much left after 9am but enough to fuel you for the morning!

The property is beautiful, the outside area is really nice and the whole thing is super clean. The staff were great and Buddy the dog was an absolute angel. We did the ATM cave tour through them and it was honestly brilliant. Great value for money and we got there early before it got too busy and our guide Damien was super fun and knowledgeable. The rooms were really comfy and the showers had great water pressure and warmth.
We are sad we didn’t get to see Bubbles during our stay!! It would also be really nice if the bar did cocktails but the beer selection is great too.

The staff were helpful and caring, the breakfast was complete, the hostel has a nice garden to chill and where community events are organized, the beds have curtains for privacy, there is enough bathrooms in the hostel to use, they organise activities and shuttle, the facility is clean. Be aware for allergy: There are one dog and two cats, all adorables, always around.
There is a common kitchen and fridge if needed as well as washing machine service for an additional cost. I washed my clothes myself (by hands) and could dry them in the garden.
It is quite far from the center and on a hill. But close to restaurants, grocery shops, Cahal Pech, delicious cake and ice cream shops etc. So be aware: If you want to be close to the center, this is far. If you don't mind, this is fine!

We had a private twin room which was spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and accommodating. They appeared to make an effort to hold events and create a sociable atmosphere on the hostel which is great. We only stayed for two nights off the back of a long journey and boozy previous week, so were pretty tired and didn’t get involved. Boring us! It is a little out of town, but only a 10-15 minute walk, so something to consider if you want to be central. Only 5 mins to the Cahal Pech ruins though which is handy.
Nothing really, other than the laundry service was the most expensive we have paid in Central America and not worth the price. Our clothes were handed back scrunched up in a bag so all very creased and not smelling too fresh. I even questioned whether it had been done lol. So maybe go elsewhere for that.

I loved it here! The owner of this hostel, Bubbles, is so friendly and nice and helps you to feel immediately at home. He is definitely the most important part of making this hostel awesome. This hostel is super social and you talk to people very easily. It is a little bit out of town but for me it was not a problem because I like to walk and it is also nice to stay in the hostel. The activities in the evening are fun, I loved family dinner and there are a lot of options if you want to check out the region during the days. Bubbles likes freedom and creativity, so if you have an idea he is always open to see if he can think of something to make it work. For example, someone wanted to make a pubquiz for trivia night and that was totally possible.

It's cheap
The breakfast is not as described. There is basically no fruit and both days I had to wait about 20 minutes for some scrambled eggs to appear and had to be quick to get some. The milk had lumps so don't know how anyone had cereal. If you can't manage to put on a breakfast don't advertise one just reduce your rates and describe the hostel honestly. My mattress was as knackered as Joe Biden but I managed to sleep ok despite the aircon being switched off at night?
Staff seem pretty uninterested in any communication with guests unless it's to sell a tour or dinner.

Great staff, good location (town is small), good facilities, tours offered
Too few bathrooms and toilets, compounded by one taken out of commission during my stay

There was a mix up with our Cave Tubing booking .

Location is great. Close to bus station and 3 minute walk from Cahal Pech.
Staff did a great job planning events and brining people together. Sunday dinna was great!
Bathrooms were big and spacious, I never had to wait to use a shower.
Breakfast included is a nice feature.
They will organize anything and everything for you.
Jess is amazing and I had so much fun talking to her. Javi was an amazing tour guide! (And the rum punch was delicious)
Hostel is super close to a really great restaurant and place to get drinks!
My bedding wouldn't stay on the bed. The breakfast runs out really fast (as in, 7am when it is supposed to start, the eggs are already gone)
It's a bit of a walk to the main town center.

I arrived on a Friday, they had drummers come to perform, it was great and got everyone together. They didn’t keep it too long, which I also really appreciated considering I had an early morning the next day like most people. I booked the ATM caves and would highly recommend, definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Also, the beds are comfortable, the facility itself seemed clean, and the staff was helpful.
I figured on a Saturday they would have some sort of event to get everyone together again. But it wasn’t the case. It was very quiet for a Saturday night.
Just like all the other comments, the hostel is up a very steep hill, it’s about a 20 minute walk from the main center. I asked around to the locals, and they did say it was safe to walk that path at night. I personally did feel safe, but there was a couple other girls that were unsure.

Decent location, overall friendly staff and comfortable room and bed.
The shared bathrooms were ok, but not great. Almost all of them were very damp and had a funky smell to them. Toilets and sinks were clean, showers less so although it might be because they were very run down…

Friendly people, decent location, comfortable room, nice, breakfast, air conditioning, cooking facilities.
The bathrooms did not feel very clean.
