We stayed in one of the cabanas on the hill below the main hotel that sit above San Ignacio. It was a private spot that was exceptional for the view, its comforts and amenities. The bed was ok - not super comfortable but we were able to have decent sleeps. The ensuite was great - clean, good size, excellent shower, The porch was very large with two chairs and a hammock. It was enclosed so that managed the mosquitoes very well. The pools at the main hotel are great - two are beside the main bar and overlook the third pool. All have great views of the city. We did not eat at the restaurant there but it looked good FWIW! The coffee shop onsite is nice and is super convenient. The check in and check out were quick and staff was friendly. We had a rental car and that makes the location (at the top of a pretty steep hill) very nice; backpackers or travelers without transportation may find it inconvenient. Sunsets are beautiful from the large veranda on the main building. The Cahel Pech Mayan site is a 5 minute walk away and sits on the same hill as the resort - it is stunning. The grounds are well maintained and there is ample parking at the resort.
We had a cabana that was at the bottom of the property so that is quite a walk up and down steep paths to get to and from. If people have mobility issues - or a lot of luggage - consider requesting a cabana closer to the main building.

Breakfast was excellent!
Got a little chilled in the room. Needed a bit more blankets

The property is very nice secluded gives you that nature jungle vibe but still close to everything!
They put us in a bottom cabana the view was covered by a fence and the walk wasn’t pleasant..

The room and bathroom were both clean, tidy and very well provisioned. The bed was very comfortable. The view from the balcony was wonderful. Definitely worth the stay.
My only possible gripe was that the room was located above the kitchen and so the noise from food preparation, serving and clean up could be heard. However this was not too disturbing in the grand scheme of things.

Great location
We stayed in the thatched villas overlooking San Ignatious. Lots birds and high up you could see for miles. Great restaurant with lots food and courteous people.
Would recommend the single thatched roof villas.
The highway to Caracol is now paved all the way!
The air conditioning was hard to adjust and it got too cold at night.

Bed was comfortable. Restaurant staff was nice. Plenty of parking spots available.
View from the bungalow was barbed wire fence and some bushes. AC was not working properly and made rattling sound. Curtains cover only half of the windows so impossible to sleep after sunrise. We had to wait half an hour past the check in time because the room was not ready. No apologies for the delay. After the wait there was additional 10 min wait for someone to go check the room for some reason.

The views, the wide open set up of the resort, the Christmas decorations and ambience in general … so beautiful
slow restaurant service and also slow concierge communication

Cahal Pech was the perfect place to stay for the San Ignacio portion of our Belize vacation. Situated near the downtown/market area, we were close to everything! Before we even arrived, my communication with Alicia was top tier! She helped make our trip for 11 people simply magical, creating a custom package for our group that included shuttle from Belize City, breakfasts, tours and a fire pit dinner. Her constant communication helped ease my fears traveling to a new city. In fact, ALL STAFF that we interacted with at Cahal Petch were top notch. Regardless of the time of day, the front desk staff were all smiles and happy to help with whatever need we had (an extra blanket, towels, taxi to the market, you name it, they helped!). Joel remained a familiar face each day for our tours and made sure to check in. Speaking of tours, Cahal Petch has found THE BEST tour guides! Erik brought the ATM tour to life for us with his deep knowledge and love for his country. The next day, Ethan shared his love of birds and waterfalls as we toured Caracol and Big Rock Waterfall. Restaurant and bar staff were kind and Israel made a remarkable impression on us as a solo server for our fire pit dinner.
While I can't think of anything I didn't like, just a couple of things to keep in mind - the jacuzzi is not heated, the hotel rooms do not have a coffee maker, and the wifi is not very strong - but, why stay in your room on wifi while on vacation? Get out and explore!

It has a pool, location somewhat central
Looks like they are more interested in selling you packages (transport, tours, meals) rather than providing a good service . Internet never worked in our room. The hotel needs a lot more TLC

Both the location and the room were amazing! Staff is friendly and super professional.
No mini fridge. The pool is too small for a swim and no drinks are allowed either. Room has very small innofensive insects which can be off-putting.

The location is the best for views of the surrounding country-side and access to the archeological site which is a very short walk from the hotel. Staff were great at the front desk and spoke perfect English and Spanish. The small pools are a lot of fun and the food was very good. Service at the bar and restaurant were excellent and not pushy. We rented a cabana and it was beautiful. We only stayed one night as a transition from Caye Caulker to Tikal.

Free parking in front
We got a cabana farthest from hotel even though closer ones were empty.

Set in beautiful surroundings of nature. Peaceful sun room attached to bungalows with hammock to relax in. Wifi and aircon worked well. Spare bed linen/blankets available by request from reception if the night time is a bit cooler. Water stations available around the restaurant areas to refill your bottle for free. Fridge in room. Breakfast was good.
The walk to main areas of town is 20-30mins. I consider myself pretty fit, no issues walking down, but the hills on the way back are extreme, so you might end up getting taxis back.
The bungalows have thatched roofs and when it rains heavy, lots of bugs fall through (there is a fabric sheet to protect them falling on you whilst you sleep and housekeeping automatically came in to clean them all up)

We were blown away by the room when we arrived- we stayed in one of the Tiki houses and the veranda with a hammock to sit outside without getting bitten my mosquitos! The room itself was beautifully furnished which made for a lovely romantic stay.
The pools were also great, the moment we arrived after a hot and sticky journey- a dip in the pool was exactly what we needed!
Great location too for fabulous restaurants/bars and of course the Cahal Pech ruins which are next door
Absoutely nothing

The huts are good, the building itself has a motel feel.
There was a bug infestation in one of our group’s hut and we were accommodated with another room but it felt like a downgrade.

In my opinion, this place is underrated. It is in a great location overviewing the city and a great place to hang out, chill out and relax. The view is nice, it is next to amazing Mayan ruins, the staff is friendly, the restaurant and bar are good, they have a souvenir shop which offers great cappuccino.
The lower pool was not very clean when I visited. The upper pool next to the bar was fine. For the facilities to be great a gym would be nice.

Amazing views (overlooking San Ignacio). Room was a good size. Did not try try the breakfast (we ate in town, highly recommended).
The mattresses on the beds were horrendous. If not too soft, the springs were very apparent and left us with sore backs afterwards. Nothing else was of issue.

The property was absolutely gorgeous and the staff were the friendliest out there. It was a great location amongst the town and offered great tours. The rooms were clean and incredibly comfortable!
The food was kind of expensive and for the price that we paid, we wish breakfast could have been included

We enjoyed our stay in Cahal Pech a lot, we would specially recommend the excursions organised by the hotel (the excursion package is a very good deal). We appreciated the restaurant at the lodge, the food was quite good. Overall, the hotel has a lot of charm and it provides very good value for money.
The cleanliness of the rooms could be improved, the floors and the surfaces were never fully clean. Even though, it is quite hard to achieve that with the material of the cabana roofs.
The wi-fi quality is quite poor from the rooms (very good from the common areas).
The AC during the day is not very good, since the cabanas are not well isolated from the heat.

Restaurant food very good; nice view from high on the hill; excellent to be so close to Cahal Peche ruin; Bed very comfortable. Very clean room.
No drinking water in room. Sink and shower did not drain well. AC just ok-kept temp tolerable but not exactly cool in 90's temps outside.

The view at night is beautiful. It is located on a very high hill. I didn't have breakfast there because the options were limited. The room was okay. I expected it to have a small refrigerator, but that was lacking. The A.C. was also dripping in the room, causing the floor in the bedroom to be wet and messy.

The view and ambience that it offered.
We faced some minor air conditioning set backs with the room but the staff was quick to have it resolved.

We loved pretty much everything. Everyone was really nice. Our room was pretty clean. Also the hotel was great in general, nice views. The beds were really comfortable, we had a sleep so good we didn't hear our alarm haha.
The only thing we noticed is that our room (205) didn't have a trash can outside the bathroom.

the view at the hotel was beautiful the pool was great also the food was great too the rooms are comfortable , inliked that our food didn't take long or our drinks
I didn't like that there was no bottle water in the room or coffee , I got a room I didn't book for . but the room was still ok

Food was good. View was spectacular. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.
There was specialty coffee on site. You just had to find it. One of the excursions we booked through the resort was disappointing as the guide was quite standoffish and didnʻt provide information at Tikkal. We informed the concierge. The other excursion we booked to ATM was excellent.

The view
The staff were not friendly or seemed to not notice us, especially in the morning when trying to get coffee. We had 3 in our room, and we always had to ask for extra towels. When asking for pool towels, they ran out. The headboard was detached from the wall. I didn't have hot water both mornings. The air conditioner barely put enough air out to cool the room. This used to be one of our favorite places, but sadly, this will probably be our last visit after 21 years. We couldn't find anyone to even discuss a few issues, and the front desk didn't care.

Was beautiful setting upon the top of the mountain and close to the Mayan ruins which you could walk to and there was virtually no one else there. The staff were hard working and super friendly and helpful.
It’s in need of some TLC some septic smells behind the Kitchen when you take that path and loud partying patrons kept us awake late one night. There seemed to be no security to tame them down or encourage them to stop when inappropriate sexual advances in the hot tub were observed that they took over for hours one day.
