Our few nights away

It was in a really good location but next to a really busy road. The house was spacious and had everything you need for your stay. Directions on the email to the parking space were really good.

Being on a busy road so the front of the house was really noisy. Could do with blackout curtains as the light from outside made the bedroom light. It did look like it's been a student let also.

Perfect place for our group of mature ladies😊

Location,short walk into city which was ideal for our Xmas shopping trip. Plenty of space and having 3 bathrooms was a bonus👍

Nothing really,one of the group commented that a mirror in the largest bedroom would have been a good addition as nowhere to blow dry hair.

Comfortable and convenient but let down by constant traffic noise from the main road.

Very central with the main shopping streets a few minutes walk away. Free parking at the property. House was well equipped, clean and comfortable. Good communication from the hosts.

The house was on a very busy main road and the constant traffic noise made sleep difficult even with ear plugs. The bedrooms were spacious but the beds were quite small, a king size or even super king would have fitted comfortably.

Mattress on middle floor uncomfortable. Showers would run very hot if someone else was showering. So timed a shower 🧼 bearcat time

Great stay, excellent location and would recommend this place

The location was excellent as we went to Chester races, the kitchen was well equipped. The lounge was a bit small but tbf we tending to sit around the kitchen table so it was all good

It was ok. Needs to be cosier.

Neighbour sat on garden bench seemed to be taking a video or photo when we getting out of car. First evening of stay a woman was knocking loudly at the front door shouting it was her house let me in. It was quite scary it was 9.45 in the evening. Stair carpet was quite dirty and walls needed a paint. To many air fresheners around the house. It also smelt a bit like a sewer. Toilet roll holder in en-suite was very rusty. The house felt a bit souless.

Perfect for a short city break

Excellent, central location. Very short walk to the centre of Chester and the race course. Plenty of space, large bedrooms and kitchen/dining area.

The property is located on the main road through the city so the rooms at the front are quite noisy. The hot water system does not allow multiple showers to be operated simultaneously. Disconcerting when you are in the shower and the water flow stops!

A great location

The location was perfect, a short walk to the town centre, and with great restaurants nearby. There’s plenty of room in the house for 6 adults, and extra car parking next door. Owners are really responsive and quick to reply.

Weekend break with friends

Lovely house in a great location. Big, plenty of room. It was a bit chilly in the kitchen but comfortable everywhere else. Take your slippers and be prepared for lots of stairs. We had a great time. The house is well equipped. Would have liked an easy chair in the bedroom and it would be good to take the masking tape from the ceiling lights ... finishing touches do matter. Recommend Chester and this house is a really good base to explore .... especially as it has a parking space.

Lovely spacious property in an excellent location for Chester city centre.

Great property with 3 huge bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The main bathroom is huge and gorgeous. Located just on the edge of the city centre so great location. The property is on a main road but we weren’t bothered by noise at all. Great size kitchen with everything you need. Lovely living room. plenty of storage in all rooms. Communication with owners was great. We saw the cleaner when we arrived and she was lovely and very helpful. Would definitely recommend this property. We loved it, so much so we booked again for next year before we left.

Excellent location a couple of minutes from the town centre. Large rooms. Well equipped.

Minor thing but parking was tight. Difficult to get turned around in the narrow road. Second car had to be parked in a car park.

Lovely property, friendly and helpful owners, great location - a very enjoyable stay in Chester.

The owners of the property were extremely friendly and helpful and easy to get hold of - it is a lovely house, nicely decorated and extremely clean with a very well equipped kitchen. The location was perfect for us as it was very close to town and the cathedral as we were staying in Chester for our daughters graduation. It was an added bonus to have a parking space next to the property and was surprisingly quiet at night considering it was situated by a main road. We would not hesitate to stay again or recommend this property - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cromwell House in Chester.

The only comment I have is that the bedrooms are split across three floors - to access them you have to climb flights of stairs so this property would not be advisable for anyone with mobility issues.

A beautiful place to stay in Chester!

What an amazing place to stay!! The location is amazing, having the parking space was so helpful and really easy to find. The house itself is beautiful, really well equipped, huge bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms. The kitchen is a brilliant large communal space and having the patio outside was a lovely extra. The owners could not have been more helpful and checked in during our stay to ensure everything was ok, which it absolutely was. The beds are beautiful and really comfortable. A really short walk into the town centre which makes it an ideal location for whatever you are in Chester for. We will 100% be back and would recommend for everyone.

Location excellent for city centre. house spacious for the whole family . Kitchen superb for family meals. Beautiful house as in promo photos and exceptionally clean. Wish we had found games room earlier for grandson there again we might never have seen him again !

Parking at property - down a back alley but ok once got into it. Tight squeeze to get out even for mid size car due to other guests. Parking at nearby car park better.

Superb

The property has been decorated so nicely and is a lovely place to stay. It is round the corner from the high street so an ideal location for us to explore Chester. Everything we needed was provided for us - kitchen equipment, towels etc. Very pleased overall.

The only downside to this property, nothing to do with the owners, is that there is a large building site opposite which made for a lot of noise. This did not bother us too much as we were out a lot and I know it is only temporary, but if you were in a front bedroom it was loud in the morning.

Passable

Good location for town, but on a very busy dual carriageway overlooking a building site - not good when it’s warm and you need the windows open. The property was not clean, there are a number of fixtures and fittings in poor repair and the beds are old and uncomfortable. The photos do not reflect the property itself. In my opinion this property is overpriced and not flexible as they do not offer free cancellation which was an issue for my mums birthday as we had no choice but to move the booking due to Covid.

Excellent location

The house is an excellent location - a 2 minute walk in to the town centre and with its own parking space it was easy to travel in and out of Chester. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and perfect for families. Having a washing machine and dishwasher is always a bonus with little ones! We also hired the hot tub which was lovely and everything was made easy as far as it being set up and collected again.

Unfortunately, it does need a bit of TLC. We found the downstairs “games and cinema room” to be extremely damp and therefore unusable. This was a shame as it was one of the reasons we chose this property. There was also a lot of rubble/dust over the floor from the walls. There was a dehumidifier but it didn’t seem to be helping anything. As our stay went on we also noticed damp in the upstairs bedroom and found small issues such as bedside lamps not working and drawers handles coming off when used.

Comfortable, clean, spacious, lovely.

Such a lovely place to stay. Great amenities including high chair, cot (we always bring our own travel cot mattress as the standard ones are not comfortable) and kitchen bits for kids. Rooms felt luxurious. We loved the place and are looking forward to staying again.

Nothing within the properties control. It is on a busy road and there were works going on as some other reviews have mentioned. We really weren’t bothered by this, baby slept fine at night and during the day. It’s a lovely property.

The property was ideal for our needs, very clean and great location

There are currently building works across the road which started at 7am so we were up early but it didn't spoil our stay
