Garni Residence Trocker

Garni Residence Trocker was our base for exploring the western Dolomites. It’s a little farther from the main tourist hub of Ortisei, but I actually recommend staying in Castelrotto. It’s less busy, peaceful, and has a lot of charm. From the hotel, it’s an easy walk to the village centre, where you’ll find several restaurants open until around 21:00, as well as a supermarket, pharmacy and gelato shops. The hotel itself is very good. Our room had a balcony with chairs, perfect for relaxing after a long day. Parking is convenient with easy elevator access. There’s also laundry facilities, a rooftop area with jacuzzi, pool table, and a good breakfast. Overall, we had a very comfortable stay.

The breakfast was nice, but when staying several days, eating the same selection every morning becomes a little repetitive. It would be great if some of the buffet items could change every couple of days. One important thing missing from the room was a hot-water kettle. There was no easy way to make tea or coffee in the room, which we definitely missed. The rooftop jacuzzi is open only from around 13:00 to 20:00. Unfortunately, we never got to use it because we were out exploring during the day and usually returned after 20:00. Especially during summer, keeping it open until around 22:00 would be fantastic for guests returning from a day in the Dolomites.

A beautiful and stylish hotel in the heart of the city. The healthy breakfast was excellent, and the rooftop jacuzzi and relaxation area were very comfortable. Check-in was easy, parking was convenient, and restaurants as well as a great ice cream shop were just a short walk away. We really enjoyed our stay.
