Absolutely beautiful place and the owners were amazing. The location is fantastic, the manor is exceptional and I couldn't recommend highly enough ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Richard and Sue, the owners, made us feel very welcome. This is a beautiful, old manor building, well over 400 years old, within short walking distance of the small, picturesque town, Hawkshead. We especially enjoyed the very quiet location, hearing sheep directly outside our room in the mornings, the delicious breakfasts prepared by Richard and served by Sue. We loved all the hiking in the area. If you like hiking, this is a fantastic location with tons of hiking (or running) opportunities. The room was quiet and spacious, and the bathroom was great as well. We had a wonderful time.

This one is more difficult. There was very little we didn't like. Sharing a small fridge with another room? There was a relatively narrow window of time available for breakfast. We tend to be early risers, but the earliest we could arrange breakfast for was 8:00 (normal breakfast service is 8:30 to 9:15, pretty late for our lifestyle). These are small nits, overall our stay was excellent and I'm sure we would love to return.

Excellent B&B in a lovely location for all walks and facilities in Hawkshead and the surrounding area. Wonderful hosts Sue & Richard could not do enough, giving advice on walks and the local area. Breakfasts were superb with lots of choice and beautifully presented. Four poster room was lovely with a huge comfy bed, armchairs and an en suite bathroom to die for, lovely roll top bath and walk in shower. Would thoroughly recommend and will definetely return.
