Food was exceptional, staff attentive and friendly, great wine list and local ales and the room and the bath was perfect after a long day of walking!

This place has become a chic boutique hotel and restaurant, no longer a true Lakes inn. Looks like the interior designer had a field day with the decor and books/ornaments. Food too expensive for an inn in the Lakes - I don’t doubt the quality but felt I was being told to eat healthily and fashionably with pretentious menus and ingredients. No welcoming lounge. To be fair, the bedroom was very comfortable and couldn’t fault the staff.
