The King's Arms

This is a lovely historic hotel in a stunning setting. It is expensive but hotels in the Lakes are more expensive. The lovely room was very clean, quiet, well equipped & the large bed soooo comfortable.The bathroom facilities were excellent. We enjoyed our choice of breakfast. All the staff were so helpful & polite. They have really thought of everything to make staying here a most enjoyable experience

The bedrooms were comfortable, clean and the interior design was top notch. The food was absolutely exceptional. The staff were lovely.

Nothing, everything was excellent.

Ollie was very welcoming and always very jolly and helpful! The rooms were fantastic!! We stayed in rooms called Henry and James. Each room has a unique boutique decor and ours was incredibly clean, the bathroom literally gleamed! Henry had gorgeous characterful low beams and low doors - fine for us, but taller people might struggle. Hawkshead is a lovely village and we look forward to coming back. We wouldn't hesitate to rebook The King's Arms, or to recommend it to anyone else.

My only point of improvement would be the breakfast. I asked for soft poached eggs with my smoked salmon - the portion of salmon was very generous, but only one small egg that was set, not soft. However, when I asked for an additional, soft poached egg they were happy to oblige. A small recommendation - some pea shoots or rocket would have been a nice addition too!
