Charming B&B Stay Near Ypres

I arrived much earlier than the standard check-in time, but was kindly welcomed in, given my key, and provided with all the necessary information about the hotel. Since my room wasn't ready yet, I was asked if I wouldn’t mind waiting until 2 PM. That was no problem, as it gave me time to go out for lunch. When I returned, I was shown to my room, located on the ground floor. It was a well-equipped space with a lovely bathroom. The B&B also offers a beautiful rooftop sitting lounge, where I was able to enjoy the afternoon sun for a while. In the evening, I relaxed and watched some TV, as cable was available. The night wasn’t entirely pleasant for me due to a rib contusion, but in the morning I went for a short walk. Upon returning, the host was already preparing breakfast for the guests. Each table was set with a wide variety of options—fresh bread, buns, croissants, cinnamon rolls, and a selection of spreads, meats, and cheeses. There was also coffee, tea, and orange juice. A buffet offered even more choices, and guests were asked how they’d like their eggs prepared fresh. The owner was very knowledgeable about the local area and its history, and kindly offered to share more if I had the time. Unfortunately, I couldn’t take him up on it as I was in town for work. After breakfast, I checked out and was warmly wished farewell. All in all, this B&B is a wonderful place to stay if you’re looking for a getaway near Ypres. My only small suggestion would be to improve the parking situation, as spaces were a bit limited.

Exceptional in every way!

We loved B&B Afrodite. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming, the room was spotless, the shower was hot, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was fantastic! It was also close to so many of the WWI sites and memorials we wanted to see. We've stayed at a few places over the past few weeks and this was far and away the best. If we ever make it back to that area, we will book again!

very cosy B&B super clean and relaxing close to Ieper and parking spot available decorayed with taste very beautiful special mention about the old stuffs from WW1 at the entry. Owner were super nice and friendly

The host Heidi was very welcoming. Very comfortable bed and a superb shower. Breakfast varied and plentiful. Rooftop garden for sunny days.

Ik was hier om een deel te nemen aan een feest. Ik ben een bejaarde vouw die nog moeilijk te been is (rollator). Ik kon op de benedenverdieping slapen in een kamer die prima is voor mindervalide bezoekers. Een meer dan prima ontbijt kon ik nemen in een ruimte met enkel 2 trapjes naar beneden. Erika

Verzorgde B&B met zeer vriendelijke uitbaters, de sauna is een echte aanrader. Zeer uitgebreid en verzorgd ontbijt, ideale uitvalsbasis om de streek te bezoeken. Wij komen zeker tetug. Top, Top, Top.

Nette kamer-Goede ligging om om de streek te verkennen

Goede locatie met top onthaal en dito ontbijt!!

Heidi & Dirk waren heel sympathiek en niks was hun te veel bij aankomst vroegen we naar extra ijsblokjes voor in de wijn en die hebben ze met plezier gegeven zelf met een extra ijsemmer. Evenals het ontbijt was zeer lekker met streekgebonden confituur en heerlijk appelsap om nog maar over de lekkere eitjes te zwijgen.

De kamer waarin we sliepen was heel warm en de badkamer zat toch wat ongedierte zoals spinnen en vliegen. Maar wat ons het meest heeft doen schrikken was de staat waarin het terras was. Houten planken zaten los en vijzen staken met de kop erbovenuit . Het trapje naar het zwembad was ronduit gevaarlijk om er heen te gaan. Zwembad was ook niet zo netjes. kortom het terras had zijn beste tijd gezien en geen plaats om kinderen te laten rondlopen en zeker niet blootvoets.
