Comfortable, convenient, restful place with lovely hosts.

It was nice and open. The kitchen had all that was needed. The bed was very comfortable. Outside there was a good sized deck and lawn edged with beautiful mature trees that screened everything. It was 4 mins walk to the lovely beach and shops. The hosts were absolutely lovely, kind and helpful.

Charming garden studio near a beach

It was a charming little studio with everything that you need for a holiday. Hosts were friendly, accomodating and generous.

We normally sleep on a firmer mattress but that is a personal preference only. Maybe another motion detect light in the middle of the staircase leading down to the studio?

This was the perfect place to stay and relax after a busy schedule!

Kathy and Hec were so nice and welcoming. They were the perfect host. The studio was spacious and clean! The location was great… a short walking distance to not one but 3 other beaches. Many eateries, grocer and gas station were just down the street! Everything you need was close by.

Peaceful and easily accessible location close to the beach. The property was beautifully presented with everything we needed for our stay.

The only surprise for us were the stairs to be used to access the ground floor flat. As it was ground floor, I didn't think that there would be stairs. If they are in the photos, I didn't connect them as the access to the accommodation.

Absolutely loved my stay! Gorgeous, clean and cosy place with lovely/friendly hosts!

Was everything I needed and more. Such lovely and friendly hosts, who even welcomed me inside to meet their cat! The place itself was gorgeous and exactly like the pictures and how all the positive reviews have described it to be. It was cozy, cute, comfortable and had excellent water pressure/temp, clean soft towels and bed/bedding. Included kids toys, books and everything you need on the TV, as well as being beautiful themed/decorated. Was also provided a complimentary bottle of wine and a block of chocolate in the fridge, (and later a sneaky bag of chips 😁)! The deck/outside area was beautiful and peaceful. Overall a very well put together and thoughtful place to stay, 10/10 would recommend and would definitely stay here again! Thank you Kathy and Hec 🫶🏻

That was an awesome experience of hospitality, that exceeded all our expectations.

For us this place became the best place to stay we have ever been at. The studio is equipped with everything you need, for any kind of persons or families. Kath and Hec - the landlords - meet you with warm and care, and they will always be there to help you with any issue.

Exceptional

This was one of the best bnb like places we have ever stayed. The location was perfect and walkable for many necessities, 20 minute drive from the downtown, and the hosts were fabulous. The room was much larger than we expected. It was just me and my husband and it was very spacious. The host surprised us with a welcome gift. The bathroom facilities were perfect. The towels provided were fluffy and comfortable and if we hadn't brought shower items they had plenty of shampoo and soap. We were able to get our laundry done, and the host offered to dry our clothes for us if we were not able to hang dry them. The parking situation was great. The property is down stairs with a separate entry so it was nice to feel like when we came back late that we were not bothering the household. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, cutlery, cooking pots, and tea! Wifi and television was provided with the stay - we were able to see some American shows as we wound down for the night.

The facilities available, you can actually cook a meal that isn't just scrambled eggs or something like that. The location was good as a nice and quiet area but still close to the beach, restaurants, shops etc. Close to motorway so easy to get to further away places too. The hosts were understanding when we had to change check in time on the day due to a cancelled flight.

The only downside was the distance I had to travel was further to see family as they are in south Auckland than if I stayed elsewhere but all the things I liked about it is what helped me decide it was worth the extra travel time

Comfortable studio in a great Auckland suburb location, with top hosts

This is a very comfortable studio in a great location; it is within easy driving distance of Auckland city centre and walking distance to stores, restaurants, the local beach and playground. The studioo had all the amenities we could have asked for, from a great stock of food staples for cooking to beach towels, things to occupy the kids and power sockets! We didn't want for anything. Kathy and Hec were kind and accommodating hosts. They answered all our questions and met all our requirements including a children's cot for our daughter. Really thoughtful, friendly people with good and timely communication to us before and during our stay! We couldn't recommend it enough.

Absolutely 10/10!

We loved EVERYTHING about this property!! It felt like a real home away from home (but still felt like we were on holiday!). The studio is perfectly appointed with absolutely everything you could need during your stay. It was super clean and comfortable and just had a lovely vibe to it. The garden of the property is stunning and we made great use of it wether it was for eating out, sun bathing or drying laundry. Kathy and Hec are just the perfect hosts - always there if you need anything at all but not over bearing. Fantastic with our kids too. We got along really great and have definitely made some friends for life. Mairangi Bay is such a fantastic area to stay in - we were so close to everything it’s unreal! Only a few minutes walk away and you can be at the beautiful beach, the amazing kids park, food shops, eateries and even a pharmacy. It was great being in such a gorgeous little beach town but then also being so close to the city centre (which was only a short Uber ride away!). If we ever make the 11,000 odd mile journey to NZ again I would without a doubt come back to stay here. We will miss it.

Loved this accomadation.

The Whitby Studio is a cosy and very comfortable suite which is fully self contained. The village and Countdown grocery store and bus stop are 5 minutes walk from the house. Mairangi Beach is another 5 minute walk in the opposite direction. The location is perfect. The private back garden is lovely. The hosts, Kathy and Hec are very accommodating and friendly. We highly recommend this suite.

Best studio ever!

Everything! This place is just the best ever! It's super close to gorgeous beaches, great shops and supermarket all within short walking distance. Kathy and Hec are the ultimate hosts who make you so comfortable you don't want to leave. At night time it is beautifully quiet and serene you would not believe your so close to Auckland city! Can not wait to go back but will be booking through their website next time. Thanks so much Kathy your an absolute star!
