Great location and good value.

Host family was lovely, and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. It is an extremely convenient location to catch a ferry or drive to the CBD (ex. we caught the early morning ferry from the CBD port to go hike on nearby islands). Great view of Sky Tower from outside. Great value for money, considering the location. Very clean and comfortable.

It's a homestay, so shared toilet meant occasionally waiting for someone else to finish up, and eating areas are also shared. You can hear people in other parts of the house. But: for the value and location, it is very good.

Andy and his family were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Their home is beautiful and thoughtfully equipped with everything you might need. The view from our room balcony was breathtaking. It was a pleasure staying with them and will definitely come back here if I visit Auckland next time.

Amazing value for money; lovely welcoming family!

Andy and his family were all so welcoming, they really went above and beyond and made us feel at home! The room has a lovely balcony with table and chairs that has a great view across Auckland. The room was spacious, bed comfortable, bathroom clean, there was a walk-in wardrobe, and the kitchen has everything we needed. Incredible value for money!

Impeccable, friendly, and warm

My stay at Andy and Daisy's home in West Harbour was a pleasurable experience. From the moment I arrived, they and their sons were very hospitable. I enjoyed many a conversation with them and they taught me the way around the public transport system (I would highly recommend the ferry). Coming home from competition late at night was no worry and coming home to a warm shower and amazingly comfortable bed was second to none. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to travel to Auckland.

A gem in West Harbour

We stayed in the deluxe room with a terrace, and a beautiful view over the harbour to the city, Skytower and Harbour bridge. Our room, ensuite and shared kitchen and living areas were spotlessly clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The family made us very welcome.This homestay was excellent value for money.

The location was peaceful, the facilities were comfortable, cosy and clean but the icing on the cake was the incredible view with our own little deck to sit and enjoy it all! And our hosts were friendly and hospitable!

Quiet place to stay.

The family was very nice. They made sure I had everything I needed on the room (fan, heater, tissues, water, TV, internet, Netflix, hangers, towels, shampoo, etc.) The room was very clean. The view from the room is amazing.

It is easier to get there if you rent a car. Public transportation would also take you there but it would take around an hour from city center.

Great room, beautiful view. I'd have liked somewhere to work on my laptop or an armchair in my room. However I think I misunderstood and didn't realise the family don't use the lounge and table near the kitchen. So those were available to me if I'd wanted. Also if the weather had been nicer, there was a lively little table and chairs on the private, covered deck outside the room. Both father and son carried my case to the car for me, which was very much appreciated.

The "Panorama" room is part of a house and has a private toilet. There was no stand for suitcases in the room. The rest of the rooms in the house are rented to other guests. There was a little mess in the common area. The kitchen is shared. In general, there is no sense of privacy and independence.

Wonderful home, amazing views and a lovely host family.

Location was brilliant, amazing views of the Auckland harbour/skyline, but away from the noise/traffic of the city. We travelled between Auckland city and north shore, so Andy’s house was perfect in the middle. The house was lovely and comfortable, there was a seperate lounge shared between us and one other room, which was nice to have a bit of privacy. Massive outside deck with table/benches to work in the day/relax in the evening. Breakfast was provided, along with all the tea and coffee you could want. Finally, the host family were amazing. Andy, his young son Alan (the little property manager), plus the whole family, were just wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. They were happy to offer suggestions/help, or leave you alone, as you prefer. All in I would definitely stay again.

We stayed here for two nights and absolutely loved it. The view is amazing and everything was very clean. The hosts are adorable! When we arrived they were very welcoming and they always wanted us to be happy and feel safe in their beautiful home. Highly recommended!! We’re definitely coming back.

Warm welcome at west harbour

The view, as advertised for the panorama room was absolutely breathtaiking, with a wasteful view of the city and surrounding nature. Andy and Daisy were incredibly friendly and eager to help when we approached them. Tidy and comfortable surroundings.

The advert was a little misleading, and reading other comments I believe a few people have felt the same. We expected private access to a bath, and a private living area/kitchen.

Basic accommodation, OK. Lack of attention to detail.

Pleasant hosts, close to where we attended a wedding.

Thin walls, could hear people in the next room. Wall between bathroom and toilet is only 3/4 high - awkward when a stranger is using the toilet while you are using the bathroom. Bed headboard very uncomfortable and not enough pillows to lean against, have to sit on bed to watch TV.

Beautiful homestay

Andy and his family are the most wonderful hosts! They are very thoughtful and go out of their way to help. They are delightful to chat with, and also graciously give guests space and privacy, both in perfect measure. The "Sunny" room we stayed in was very clean and beautifully lit with natural sunlight. The shared kitchen and other facilities are also clean and very good quality. The views over the water toward CBD and the Sky Tower are extraordinary. We were so pleased with how quiet and peaceful the place was, we couldn't hear any street traffic at all. Also, the wifi was good enough that I could work on my laptop even from the "Sunny" room. This is such a great homestay, we will definitely come back the next time we need a place in Auckland.

Hosts are amazing. They are such a wonderful family. Very welcoming and hospitable. The room was very comfortable with a beautiful view of downtown Auckland.

The neighbor was noisy a whole night because they were partying a lot. We were there for holiday season so maybe that’s why. And the room can get quite stuffy. But they provided a fan when we mentioned it.

Wonderful stay in a family house, don't expect hotel layout. Clean, quiet place and neighbourhood, great view of city centre across bay from kitchen, room equipped with big TV (didn't watch anything), electric blanket, good Internet connection, separate external access, towels provided. Close to a bus stop. Close to a ferry stop. Friendly and helpful hosts. Kitchen equipment and utensils, and other household items made available

Only a minor issue during a great stay: Room could have a couple more accessible power outlets near bed. Location is great, about 10 km from the city centre, but using public transport it's at least an hour trip. Great location for outbound car drivers, though - no traffic at all!
