In need of repair
Great location. Looked great from the outside. Lots of tea/coffee available in room.
It was in need of repair. The windows were taped shut with masking tape, but not fully closed, which meant the room was cold and the wind moved the curtains. The smaller shower head leaked constantly and the larger shower head didn't work at all. The entrance was usually locked, with a sliding door which didn't have a handle, making it awkward to open. The restaurant times were erratic, we tried to use the restaurant but it was never open.

Disappointed
Beautiful building and location is great
Walls were paper thin between rooms it felt like next door were in our room. Room was huge but unloved - this was functional space that was not inviting at all. Old shower , old unmatched furniture with some ikea leftover shelving and screening up in front of an old bar area. There are some fabulous features such as stained glass windows but they were almost covered up and forgotten

Disappointing
The building itself is lovely and the location is fantastic. Staff also friendly and welcoming on arrival.
It’s not a boutique hotel. The fixtures and fittings are poor quality. The bathroom, whilst clean, was very disappointing (think 2star hotel)…and the shower didn’t work. The bed was small and duvet more akin to something you’d expect in a youth hostel. We were in room 203 on the 2nd floor. You can hear neighbours very clearly and kitchen extractor fans must also be close. No

Very attractive hotel near the centre of everything
The hotel is a converted church and the owners have gone to a great deal of trouble to maintain as many aspects of the church building as they can, for example there are several stone columns in the rooms and lobby areas and beautiful stain glassed windows throughout. the room itself was reasonably spacious and the bed was comfortable. Situated in a very convenient location for all the shops, pubs and restaurants. Would definitely recommend
The shower tray in our room didn't drain quickly enough which meant water would overflow if you stayed in the shower too long.

Good location but too basic to be called boutique
Good position near train station, pubs and restaurants. Nice welcome and the bedroom and bathroom were big, clean and lovely and warm. Bed was a decent size and very comfortable.
Nowhere to park - we paid almost £20 for one night in a council car park. The bar/restaurant area was very basic and looked more like a student bar. We paid extra for a luxury bedroom and it was big but very basic (random bits of furniture, no pictyres in the walls, hosputality tray the same as a Teavelodge). The bathroom was the same - huge but basic with very few toiletries and just a cheap shower above the bath. No surfaces in the bathroom to put anything on, so everything ended up on the floor! Bar closed at 5pm because of the time of year and there was no breakfast available because the breakfast chef had left. No staff around in the morning and everywhere was locked up which felt a bit odd and more like an Airbnb than a 'boutique' hotel. Overall a bit more luxury and more guest facilities needed for a boutique hotel.

Lovely stay in this well positioned hotel
Fantastic location
Window in room didn’t close properly - noise from road/passers by.
