Great location. Looked great from the outside. Lots of tea/coffee available in room.
It was in need of repair. The windows were taped shut with masking tape, but not fully closed, which meant the room was cold and the wind moved the curtains. The smaller shower head leaked constantly and the larger shower head didn't work at all. The entrance was usually locked, with a sliding door which didn't have a handle, making it awkward to open. The restaurant times were erratic, we tried to use the restaurant but it was never open.

Beautiful building and location is great
Walls were paper thin between rooms it felt like next door were in our room.
Room was huge but unloved - this was functional space that was not inviting at all.
Old shower , old unmatched furniture with some ikea leftover shelving and screening up in front of an old bar area.
There are some fabulous features such as stained glass windows but they were almost covered up and forgotten

The building itself is lovely and the location is fantastic. Staff also friendly and welcoming on arrival.
It’s not a boutique hotel. The fixtures and fittings are poor quality. The bathroom, whilst clean, was very disappointing (think 2star hotel)…and the shower didn’t work. The bed was small and duvet more akin to something you’d expect in a youth hostel.
We were in room 203 on the 2nd floor. You can hear neighbours very clearly and kitchen extractor fans must also be close. No

The hotel is a converted church and the owners have gone to a great deal of trouble to maintain as many aspects of the church building as they can, for example there are several stone columns in the rooms and lobby areas and beautiful stain glassed windows throughout.
the room itself was reasonably spacious and the bed was comfortable.
Situated in a very convenient location for all the shops, pubs and restaurants. Would definitely recommend
The shower tray in our room didn't drain quickly enough which meant water would overflow if you stayed in the shower too long.

Good position near train station, pubs and restaurants. Nice welcome and the bedroom and bathroom were big, clean and lovely and warm.
Bed was a decent size and very comfortable.
Nowhere to park - we paid almost £20 for one night in a council car park.
The bar/restaurant area was very basic and looked more like a student bar.
We paid extra for a luxury bedroom and it was big but very basic (random bits of furniture, no pictyres in the walls, hosputality tray the same as a Teavelodge). The bathroom was the same - huge but basic with very few toiletries and just a cheap shower above the bath. No surfaces in the bathroom to put anything on, so everything ended up on the floor!
Bar closed at 5pm because of the time of year and there was no breakfast available because the breakfast chef had left. No staff around in the morning and everywhere was locked up which felt a bit odd and more like an Airbnb than a 'boutique' hotel.
Overall a bit more luxury and more guest facilities needed for a boutique hotel.

Fantastic location
Window in room didn’t close properly - noise from road/passers by.

Spacious, and warm bedroom, big bathroom and comfortable bed , well cleaned
The armchair was looking a bit tired and worn, one of the curtains had a broken hook which let the light in
No breakfast chef available

Centrally located, big, bright rooms (3rd floor) and friendly staff.

Nice to be in a historic building
This is not 'boutique' - this is old and tired and in need of a big refurb. Not smart or clean or tasteful or classy

Location was great, bit of a walk from the car park so if you have mobility issues worth thinking about where you can park.
The shower needed a warning sign as the water went from cold to scolding quick, so did the hot tap. The shower was difficult to get at a bearable temperature.
There was no-one there at check out and it wasn’t clear what to do with the key, we just left them on a table near the door but didn’t seem to safe.

Room not made up upon return after day out and about.
Once this brought to staff's attention, they quickly and graciously rectified issues.

Poor furniture and only one small chair in a large kingsize room for two guests.
No breakfast available.

Nice staff, great location, clean room- all the basics you would expect in a hotel room.
Intermittent WiFi, advertised as boutique hotel but fell short in that the finishing touches were absent.

Beautiful old Church with some extremely unique features. Great TV all Networks. Some very thoughtful touches in the rooms, ear plugs , blind folds…Lovely towels and GREAT HOT CHOCOLATE!
Good location for town centre
I only met what I assumed was one of the owners working on a turret room, very friendly.
The hotel is currently under renovation so common areas were disappointing and non existent when it came to a reception. The young guys renovating were great but the rooms are very basic, sheer curtains, (hence the blind folds), lumpy bed, lumpy pillows and the bathrooms were obviously an after thought, ours was too small and badly thought out! - I think if they upgrade bed/pillows/carpets and changed the curtains it would go a long way to put some warmth in the rooms but currently they’re overpriced for what they offer!

Problem with hanging clothes up in the room , hanging rail over the fridge can’t use it .

Lovely property! Very close to the station and the town centre.
We were in room 402 which was lovely, but unfortunately the very old stain glass window which was beautiful wouldn’t close, which meant I was kept awake with the noise outside through the night and into the early hours of the morning. The draft didn’t bother me because the curtains were so thick.
We also had a green light that which we couldn’t turn off as it was a fire light, but it was really light in our room. Which was very annoying

Friendly greeting and helpful staff
The room was cold in appearance, big and empty and I did feel it was rather expensive for purely a room overnight. The restaurant was uninviting in appearance

Close to town and railway station.
One of the two rooms we booked had no functional heating. It was one of the coldest nights of the year so far. The room was freezing.

The location was great although it was not easy to stop outside the hotel for unloading. Rooms were comfy and we loved the unusualness of the building and amazing stained glass windows. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
No carpark was a down side and I probably would stay somewhere else if travelling by car. The residents bar area was still under construction which was a shame.

This hotel is fantastically situated near the train station, next to the castle, a few mins walk to the prison and less than 10 mins walk to Theatre Severn. It is right on the edge of the shopping area, and has great pubs and bars close by. The room was very clean and comfortable, there is a restaurant on the ground floor that serves food from breakfast though to evening meals.
Just be mindful that parking is not available, but you can drop your bags and park with lots of car parks not too far away.
The stained glass windows are beautiful but don’t shut completely, it’s quite noisy being so bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper!

The location & it being a church was absolutely stunning. The bed was very comfy. Bar area was a lovely space & the staff were lovely.
The only thing that let it down was the bathroom was very compact & the temperature on the shower was either ice cold or scolding hot regardless of the temperature you put the dial to.

We loved the quirky nature of this boutique hotel. We also loved the position in the town. We were delighted to be upgraded by Ryan after an issue with the heating in our booked room. Ryan above and beyond to contact us whilst we were out and to wait up for our return.

Quirky hotel in the centre of Shrewsbury. Staff really good - Ash was very helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Good tea and coffee selection. Good shower with plenty hot water. Really good location.
Bathroom a little snug, so you have to maneuverer a bit to get in and out, but that is due to the building being and old church. Short walk to the multi storey car park - but you could drop off first at the hotel if you had lots of luggage.
