The size of the room and the view to lake was really great. Just stay only one night but we will come back.
The parking space was also good, and the cleanless of the room was also perfect.
Breakfast was also delicious.

The location, tucked away from the crowds. And also, cats all over the place.
Hot water pressure was terrible. Hopefully just our room. Wasn’t a deal breaker as it was super hot and we mostly took cold showers during our visit. But the hotel should look into room 11.

Great breakfast, nice staff for breakfast and housekeeping. Super helpful to have a water vending machine in the lobby. Good location, tough to get to with luggage though, all up hill. They let us store our luggage for free on the day we checked out which was very helpful!
Outdated amenities, only 3 outlets in the room and three lights in the living area.
I messaged the management during our first night as my reservation had given the option to select a king size bed, and our room only had two twin beds pushed together. I know that this is a typical arrangement for any holiday in Europe, but was confused as to why we were given the option to select a king, which was “approved” by staff. Additionally, since our room wasn’t super comfortable, I asked if it would be possible to get a room at the other hotel for a similar cost for two nights. The reply I received was curt, but informative. All the rooms at Villa Maria have twin or full sized beds. The hotel, the Continental, is $300 a night. No follow up from there, not a “if that would be good for you we can move you over and you can pay the difference”. Nothing. The hotel oversees the Villa, but really only for check in/check out. There are no staff (that I could see) in the actual Villa itself at night or after morning “rounds”. Hotel Continental staff were not super eager to help and gave the impression that the lesser accommodation (and its inhabitants) were not regarded favorably.
I think my biggest mistake was using the pictures as a guide. The photos attached to our reservation and on the listing are deceptive. We didn’t have a nice bright room or updated bathroom. Definitely would suggest a few umbrellas for the lobby due to the unpredictable weather on the lake.
