Fun, cool vintage hotel experience.

I agree with the reviews that point out that the hotel is older and shows some wear. But that is also part of the charm of an "old world" experience. The breakfast was plentiful. We booked the dinner as well and recommend doing so for at least one night to enjoy both the food and the 5-course dining experience. Top notch and truly a bargain for the price/value. Servers could learn to smile occasionally, but nobody was rude and they were attentive. The grounds are beautiful, well maintained with tons of flowers and the pool was refreshing. They have a delicious coffee and cake in the afternoon if you are on site. Location is fantastic- quiet and easily walkable to town and alternatively close to a bus stop. Ample, safe parking included. I don't think I would book a week here, but for a fun "step back in time," (which we felt throughout Merano), I recommend a night or two at Hotel Juliane.

While we found the room to be fine (perhaps a little dated decor, but in a charming way), the only real complaint is that the bed was not the most comfortable. Sauna/steam area could use an update.

There was aircon which functioned well. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The outdoor pool was very nice and I was often alone in it. The pool is long enough to actually swim in, which is great! I liked having the option to eat breakfast outside or inside. The buffet breakfast was good. The location is within walking distance to town. There is also a bus stop right outside the hotel. Be sure to go to the lovely gardens nearby and also go for a walk along the river to get to the old town.

The parking area has lots of trees. There are two spots in the middle of the parking area which are free of trees - go for those to avoid washing your car.

She really was a star in explaining all information and more. The bed was comfortable as was the room and bathroom. Highly recommend Hotel Juliane as a few nights’ stay.

The 15 minute walk back up the hill from the town centre to the hotel could be challenging for some but it’s good exercise!Also, taxis were freely available if you needed a ride back.

A fine family run hotel with an excellent restaurant and very caring staff. Helped research an excellent hairdresser for my wife.

It is a bit of a hike into town, but that insures quiet. The "roads" up to the property are treacherous;y narrow.

A bit hidden away (15-20 minutes walk into town; 10-15 minutes to Villa Trautmannsdorf). Dinner felt a bit formal (4 course menu) but good value - you need to advise in the morning if you want to eat

Exceptional

Everything was superbly clean, well-presented and comfortable. All of the staff were extremely patient and helpful, even bringing me a cup of tea at 10pm! The swimming pools were awesome and everything was of very high quality, with a lovely, short walk into town. We will definitely recommend Hotel Juliane to our friends and we have told the person we were visiting to do the same.

Es ist hoffentlich nicht das letzte Mal gewesen, dass ich zum Hotel Juliane reisen konnte.

Gut: Hallenbad, welches ich jedoch viel zu spät benutzt habe. Die abgelegene Lage hatte den Vorteil, dass es ruhig war.

Mittelmässig: die abgelegene Lage, bei der ersten Anreise per ÖV schwierig zu finden. Dass ich als Einzelreisende im Speisesaal an einen 'Waisentisch' gesetzt wurde. Auch Einzelreisende sitzen gerne schön.

Summa summarum waren wir mit dem Aufenthalt zufrieden.

Die ruhige Lage und die sehr gute Verkehrsanbindung. Der beheizte Innenpool. Das Frühstück bis 10.30 h. Das Abendessen war hervorragend.

Beim Frühstück wäre etwas mehr Abwechselung schön, z.B. Quark mit verschiedenen Gewürzen, oder einmal Forellenfilets bzw. Lachs in geräucherter Form. Die Wurst- und Käsesorten waren mehr oder minder dieselben. Die Brötchen von der dunklen Sorte waren schnell vergriffen und wurden nicht mehr nachgefüllt. Die Portionen beim Abendessen waren teilweise sehr reichlich, besonders für ältere Gäste. - Im Badezimmer waren wenige Ablagemöglichkeiten vorhanden. Es wäre gut, z.B. auch ein paar Haken anzubringen. - Leider duschen manche Gäste nicht vor der Benutzung des Innenpools. Hier könnten Schilder mit diesem Hinweis vielleicht Abhilfe schaffen.

Die Lage des Hotels ist optimal: Ruhig gelegen in einem Villenviertel sind Stadtzentrum (Altstadt) und Startpunkte von Wanderungen zu Fuß (ca. 15 min.) oder mit dem Bus (Haltestelle unmittelbar am Hotel) bequem erreichbar. Wir hatten Halbpension gebucht und waren mit dem reichhaltigen Frühstücksangebot und den tollen Abendmenüs sehr zufrieden. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Die Sauna war sehr klein, Saunabesuch musste angemeldet werden. Keine Heizung vor dem 1.10.25. Es war zu kalt in den Räumen. Das Hotel ist renovierungsbedürftig. Fenster z.B. aus den 6oer Jahren. Nicht schön ausgebessert. Weißer Ramen aber holzfarbene Leisten.

Sonnige Tage im Villenviertel

Ruhige Lage im Villenviertel. Man kann zu Fuß zum Garten von Schloss Trautmannsdorf und zum Planta Waalweg. Fast vor der Hoteltür fährt der Bus ins Stadtzentrum ab. Halbpension ist empfehlenswert. Schöne Aussen- und Innenpools, gutes Frühstück, z.T. nettes Personal im Restaurant und Zimmerservice. Kostenloser Parkplatz.

Hotel an ruhiger Lage (etwas weiter weg vom Zentrum, aber das weiss man ja beim Buchen). Schönes Zimmer mit Balkon. Aussenbad recht grosszügig. Hallenbad weniger ansprechend. Restaurant mit guten Frühstückbuffet und Essen auch gut.

Wir haben nur eine Nacht übernachtet. Gefehlt hat uns etwas Herzlichkeit; das Personal war freundlich, aber aber auch nicht mehr.

Prima verblijf voor ons voor 2 nachten op doorreis en te genieten van het mooie Merano

De ligging, we hadden helaas slecht weer bij aankomst. Het hotel is op 20 minuten loopafstand van Trauttmansdorff!

We moesten bij het ontbijt al een keuze maken voor de lunch en het avond door dit aan te kruisen in een menuboekje, voor het personeel erg handig maar als he met vakantie bent is dat niet relaxed. Het personeel is overigens erg vriendelijk!

Frühstück war gut, jedoch die Anordnung am Buffet war ungünstig gewählt, um an die Frühstücks Zerialien ranzukommen musste man Schlange stehen , weil diese sich am Ende einer engen Sackgasse befanden. Toller Innen.- und Aussenpool.

Das Bett war etwas Gewöhnungsbedürftig. Knarren und Quitschen.

Gutes Hotel !

Das Haus ist zwar schon etwas älter, aber alles sehr gepflegt und ordentlich. Das Personal Ist sehr freundlich. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist reichhaltig und gut. Das Hotel ist ruhig gelegen und man ist mit dem Auto in 5 min.in der Stadt oder 20 Gehminuten. Bushaltestellen 200m vom Hotel entfernt.

Sehr sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt mit tollem Essen

Das Hotel ist zwar schon etwas älter, aber hier macht es einen ganz besonderen Charme aus. Der Pool war sehr angenehm. Unser Elektroauto durften wir am Parkplatz an einer normalen Schukosteckdose laden. Das war sehr praktisch und nett. Danke nochmal! Das Abendessen war sehr sehr gut und wir konnten draußen wunderbar sitzen mit tollem Blick auf die Berge. Auch das Frühstück war toll.

Kleinere technische Defekte (tropfende Klimaanlage), aber kein wirkliches Problem
