For one night it was fine but wouldn’t stay again.

Staff very friendly, good meal and breakfast. Good shower, clean and decent pressure. Comfortable bed and pillows.

Windows cold and draughty, had to close the curtains as soon as I arrived. Also noise insulation not good. Mould on the window frames. Had to use aircon to heat the room. Room a bit bland, functional and corporate.

It was okay if you don’t mind being in the middle of nowhere

But this hotel said it was close to Sheffield Arena. I should’ve done more research before booking as public transport links are practically non-existent. Taxis are few and far between when it shows on and the walk from Sheffield Arena is 45 minutes

For the price I wanted a better experience. Staff were amazing.

The staff are really helpful and friendly. The bathroom was clean

The room was cold and although an additional heater was provided it didn't do much. The furniture is dated. The mattress was well used with some roll-together action going on. The shower was fairly weak.

Accessible room not provided despite booking confirmation

Very friendly staff. Nice breakfast.issues with booked room - We were offered the chance to move after first night but we were only staying 2 nights so it seemed a lot of upheaval. We were given 4 drinks vouchers and staff were lovely.

We booked an accessible room with a walk in shower in August. Confirmed this by message in August describing the accessible needs. We then confirmed by phone the week of our stay. Upon arrival we were told no accessible rooms were available despite booking and confirming 5months previous and the week of our stay. My mum could not access the shower and as the room was not accessible she struggled in the bathroom as there were no handrails in the bathroom at all. Not at all accessible. We were only staying 2nights so had to accept the room. We were offered the chance to move after first night but we were only staying 2 nights so it seemed a lot of upheaval. We were given 4 drinks vouchers and staff were lovely but it's not really acceptable to not have the accessible room we booked available given we booked in August and had the room confirmed in August and again in Jan. Very disappointing. My mum had to struggled to use the facilities and as I say could not use the shower in the end .

Comfy hotel near the motorway and arena

Good to have restaurant on site. Room was good size with comfy furniture. Heating is adjustable. Location is quiet near the motorway, and 3 miles from the arena

More plug sockets, especially near the bed Remote has several buttons that are unreadable Restaurant is good but expensive, £12 for breakfast

Fab comfortable and affordable hotel highly recommend!

Everything! Clean comfortable. Lovely spacious rooms and the bathrooms are fab. Staff are excellent very friendly and positive. I’ve stayed here twice and will again in the future no doubt. Breakfast was fab all cooked freshly and the bread was amazing!

Two tiny moans. The fridge in the room has nothing in it (not an issue) but makes a hell of a lot of noise. I had to turn it off in the middle of the night. And would be nice if there was complimentary water in the rooms. But that’s it!

Just about adequate but the room was disappointing

The location was easy to find. The bar area is pleasant.

The room was disappointing. The heating in the room did not work. The coffee / tea making facilities were poorly stocked. The drawer kept rolling open. The kettle auto switch off did not work and so it almost boiled dry. The drinks prices were very expensive.

Cashless venue takes away rights of consumer

Room.was nice size

Sewer smell coming from shower. Old toothpaste left in room. No more fresh bread left at breakfast. Soulless bar and breakfast area. Wa tried to pay cash for drinks unable to. The barman who was young told us the inners had decided to go cashless. Will always phone ahead in future for mercure hotels not taking cash as its an absolute no no to not have the choice as a paying customer. Wouldn't stay again.

Could have been better

The room we had was very severely affected by the noise from the Rail/freight compound to the back of the Hotel. This nose was constant all night and the double glazing is poor, so it was very noisy, hence a poor night’s sleep.

Very clean hotel. Lovely breakfast and for the most part lovely staff.

Such a clean room, fantastic breakfast. The man that was working the bar when we arrived at 4pm on Sunday was so helpful and friendly.

The next man working the bar when we came back from the concert at 11:30pm was so rude and miserable. I actually felt as if I was interrupting him doing nothing by daring to ask for a bottle of coke.

Nice place just abit out of way.

The hotel was really nice.. the bed was really big and comfortable.....The staff were also very friendly.

I found a couple of long dark hairs in the bed. And a big dust/spider web in the corner of the room. When we went down for breakfast. The sausages didn't look cooked(very ermmm white) the bacon was either really undercooked or really overcooked..so we didn't really eat anything even though we had paid for it.

It was easy to find

It wasn’t the cleanest, and the pillow on left side was absolutely disgusting. We also messaged the property before arriving and we were told we would have a smart tv, which we didn’t so nothing much to do as we were just surrounded by warehouses and too far away from the city centre.

On arrival having paid for the room via Booking.com I was asked to pay again. After showing proof of payment the receptionist still did not believe I had paid and even took photo of the confirmation and then asked.me to check again with reception in morning. As there was a long queue behind us this was very embarrassing. He then just put our room key on desk and said no more. He never explained about registering the car in ipad but by chance I saw this. He never told us time of breakfast or where breakfast was and as we had early strats we didnt have breakfast. I think the worst check in I have ever had. We visit Sheffield 2/3 times a year, we won't be staying here again.

Lovely hotel

Fantastic bed and pillows. Very clean and the bathroom was lovely - especially the shower. Lifts to all rooms easy access to all areas at the hotel. Free parking lots of spaces. Great heating and air con in the room which you could very easily set to your choice.

A little far out the city but the pros out weighed that.

Ideal for a short stay and located well for accessing Sheffield centre.

Ideally located, public areas were clean and modern. Free parking was ideal. Bed was comfy and the room was spacious.

During the night it was quite loud (not sure if this was another room’s aircon/extractor fan but it was all night) and although it made us think it was clean, the hallway and room smelled quite strongly of bleach/cleanjnf product.
