Il Nido Di Asia

First of all I just have to say the host is amazing! We have been travelling for almost three months now, and his service was just way beyond anything we have experienced other places on our trip! He personally met us when we arrived, was available for any questions we had during our stay (he even offered us to come by his shop for some aperitivi which we unfortunately didn't find the time to do), and helped us get to the train station on our last day in Cortona. It can be a bit tricky to arrive at the premises without a car as the bus only takes you so far and you have to walk for a few minutes on hilly cobblestone. But we only found this to be a charming part of the city's nature! As soon as we were settled, the location is prima for exploring Cortona, with lots of really good and charming restaurants nearby and the main square(s) within a short walking distance. The apartment itself is charming as well. Maybe not in the most modern or pristine condition, but comfortable and cozy! Nicely decorated with books and local pieces of art :) We were a bit unfortunate with the weather being quite chilly, and unfortunately the central heating wasn't available so early in the season (city policies I think) which made the apartment a bit cold. It is situated in the basement of a brick house, which means it keeps out the heat very well and there is very little sunlight warming it up from the outside. This is probably not a bad thing in the summer though! Just be prepared to bring sweaters and maybe some slippers to stay comfortable in the evening, especially if the temperatures reach below 20 degrees.

The listing said that there was a washing machine available, which it unfortunately wasn't. This was not a big problem though, as there is a laundromat just a couple hundred meters away. Also the wifi only works in a few areas of the apartment and the cellular internet connection is generally quite poor. We had to work from the apartment a couple of days which proved to be somewhat of a challenge. But this was something we were aware of beforehand, and we managed by switching up on who got to sit in the kitchen where the wifi signal was strongest! Cleaning and the kitchen equipment can be improved a notch.

La posizione è perfetta, il posto è piccolino ma adatto a 3 persone c'è tutto quello che serve dalla TV al phon alla cucina attrezzata

Il problema di cortona è la connessione, nn c'è campo per i telefoni. Ma la struttura è dotata di wifi

Paolo was extremely helpful, and went out of his way for me as I arrived. Lovely bathroom, comfortable bed, great location, quiet area.

The cigarette smoke in the shared entranceway, no doubt drifting down from upstairs. Nasty. There was no bidet, Wifi only worked in some areas. This is a nicely restored apartment but with cheap furnishings (the plastic trashcan in the kitchen was a real pain to use.)
