A hidden gem
We spent 5 nights at the Laelia Villa, and wished we could have stayed more. The view and the pool were stunning. The villa in itself was very comfortable, spacious, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Kit and her staff were absolutely exceptional, very efficient and thoughtful! The location was perfect, just a short uphill walk from the lively beach town, with the beach, dive shops, great restaurants, etc. all within easy reach. Yet the villa still feels peaceful and private, topped off with a stunning view.

Fantastic and good value for money
We were in the only room without a pool which we knew from the start. The view from the room is truly amazing and we were not disappointed at all with the room or the location. Our overall stay here and in Koh Tao was great and we were more than well looked after at a very affordable rate.
It is true that the property is at the top of a hill but we knew that from the start and it should not put people off. we are both in our 60s and managed the climb easily on several occasions and when we could not the taxi ride was very straightforward. The property is also very close to the beach and a that end it is very beautiful and quiet

It’s on a very steep hill and about a 15 min walk from the main part with all the restaurants but the view is sooo worth it. We are fit and like the exercise but if you have mobility issues then maybe not for you or a scooter!!

Very happy times
Amazing staff who helped us with everything, especially during the heavy rainfall on our departure day when we didn’t dare to ride the motorbike back to the rental. We felt very welcome here. Communication with the staff was easy whenever we needed to ask or arrange something. The room was clean, the view from the villa was amazing, the garden was well maintained, the pool was cleaned every day, the room was of a decent size, great shower. You simply have a feeling stay in not necessary to go down (you can order food, anything you need).
In some reviews, people complain about ants, but at the end of the day, you need to consider that you are staying on a tropical island surrounded by lush gardens. This naturally means that you may occasionally have ants or geckos in the outdoor living areas near the pool.

A great villa in the perfect location.
A great villa to stay in if you want something thats not in the main park of town and want some piece and quiet. Its 5mins to the beach and 10mins into the town and restaurant's.
I was worried that it might be a little too far out of town, but as the previous reviewers have said, its really close.
The views over Sairee beach and bay are incredible.
Kit the property manager was brilliant and so helpful throughout my stay.
The mattress and pillows were a little firm but this is just a personal preference. Otherwise theres nothing not to like.

My recommendations are as follows : A basin where the water doesn’t stop after 5 seconds and the water in the basin wasn’t hot.

The place is comfortable but looks tired…with a few minor changes, it could be fabulous! Beach towels were more like blankets than towels???

Amazing stay - connection with nature
This was definitely the best stay on our way around Thailand! Villas are very nice, modern and private, own pool with view is just amazing!
The best thing is definitely connection with nature, which you can feel all around - lot of palms and plants. We really recommend this stay if you are looking for little escape from city rush.
Villas are pretty away from city centre, so it’s definitely better to have scooter. But Ko Tao is not big island, so you are everywhere in few minutes.

The Vila itself is beautiful, the room is nice and clean and a good size (for couples) and the shower is wow!
the view is incredible, it overlooks the whole of koh toh and the pool is also great! the staff is sooo nice and helpful ! I think it’s worth the money :)
The only thing is that it’s got a lot of stairs, it was fine for us but take that into account. Location wise it’s a few mins from everything by scooter, also worked for us but take that into account

Panoramic views, refreshing plunge pool
Everything is built to enjoy the sensational view - a panorama across Koh Tao. And as the sun drops to the horizon and the colours blaze across the sky, you’ll be delighted you chose Anankhira.
Jumping into the little infinity plunge pool after walking back from Sairee beach is such a reward!
The bed is comfy, the AC is ice cold, the room and bathroom are nicely appointed. It feels like a cool little hideaway from the world, but within striking distance of the beach.
Fridge, microwave, kettle all provided in the neat little outdoor area.
And it’s nice to have the option to pet the resort’s friendly cats if you want, and see the cute little / naughty squirrels 🐿️
It’s about 6-7 minutes walk through another resort to the beach and about 15 mins to town, but it’s pretty easy along the beach and a very nice walk.
Not a huge neg but for a property in this price bracket and this far from the town, it really should include a breakfast option and it seems like they could easily offer a simple fruit / eggs / cereal combination.
And no restaurant but easy food delivery available or you’ll probably find yourself walking into town anyway.

Good place to stay
We had a lovely stay – our host went out of her way to ensure everything was smooth and enjoyable. She even arranged a taxi to collect us, which was much appreciated.
The property is on a hill, great views but access is via a steep road. Not a problem for us but could be if any mobility issues.
As we had a late ferry, it was incredibly helpful to have secure luggage storage and access to shower facilities, allowing us to make the most of our final day. Thank you for your kind and thoughtful hospitality – it really made a difference!
Be aware the location is a short walk away from the main town - we generally always took taxis

Shoddy. Paint spots on stairs. No kettle, outside lights did not work, kitchen cupboards did not close, toilet seat was incorrect size, kitchen tap was loose. Toilet door did not close , no architrave around doors. Very shoddy appartment for the cost .

Amazing views, comfortable bed and loved the private pool
Due to having a private pool we felt that clean towels should be provided daily. We requested more towels as one of ours got wet in a storm, and a lady at the reception was rude to us and said towels are replaced every two days due to being environmentally friendly. We appreciate this but for the price of the accommodation, using the pool daily and our circumstance it’s not unreasonable to ask for clean dry towels.

Great value - private pool close to town
I stayed in the Blue Lotus Villa. The views were GREAT, but definitely a hike uphill. The pool is incredible and the villa is very spacious. It feels very private, even though there is another villa next door. The kitchen has minimal cooking utensils, so don’t expect to cook any large meals. I only used the upstairs bedroom / bathroom, but there is a downstairs set too. The shower water runs through the whole bathroom into a drain under the sink, so the bathroom stays wet for awhile. The shower pressure isn’t great, but good enough. Views from the main bedroom are FANTASTIC to wake up to. The villa felt very clean! Air conditioning works great and perfectly blows onto the bed at night. Staff provides a good amount of water bottles daily. Also, I accidentally locked my things in the safe and someone was there very quickly to assist. The staff helped carry my bags up to the villa upon arrival. They can help arrange a 300 baht taxi for pickup upon arrival via ferry, and offer complimentary taxi upon check out.
However, there were a LOT of bugs. I woke up with a lot of bites - which is probably to be expected in Thailand, in general… but, there were visibly a lot of bugs. Specifically, large ants throughout the main bedroom.
The bedroom had two larger towels in it, which is good for me to shower (one for body, one for hair). If I had someone else there, we might’ve wanted another towel. Also, would’ve been nice to have some separate towels for pool usage.
I read in reviews that there is daily breakfast, but didn’t receive any information about this upon check-in, so I’m not sure if that was available or how it works. Regardless, I was awake early every morning for diving and probably would’ve missed it.
It is very close to town, but the walk is a little treacherous. The main road is not well lit and there is not a safe walking space. Then, the road to the villas off of the main road is not lit well, very uphill, and not smoothly paved.

The view is pretty special. The staff were first class. Everything was clean and tidy. Loved our stay there and will more than likely be back some time in the future
Close to 200 steps down to the main road but taxis were available and we hired motorbikes so it wasn't really an issue. Definitely worth the climb for the view

The located is far from the noise of Sairee beach. It is quiet and secluded. Great views.
From the beginning of our booking experience I feel that we were mislead. The pictures on the booking.com website feature the newer properties on site and our Villa Mokara was an older villa. It was a disappointment on arrival. No official check in, minimal information given. The villa is old, outdated, with drab brown decor including brown sheets. Everything was in need of an update. The furniture was damaged with darned section on sheets. Photos available see below. The outdoor living area of the villa meant that you had to share a space with ants and squirrels. I did not expect this as photos on booking.com show villas with indoor living areas. The reception area was also run down and staff not forthcoming with any advice. We had a lovely time on the island thanks to a friendly taxi driver who saved the day and advised us on activities.

Nice place, not all rooms have pools
- The room is very nice
-The view is great
-All staff is very nice and helpfull, especially Kit.
-Bike rental shop just at the bottom of the hill provided an excellent service
-We expected a kitchen and a pool, our bad, we did not pay attention to all the details but be carefull, many, many pictures of pools but they are private pools for some villas, not all room had pools.
-Very strong smell of perfume in our room
-Towels are brown so never washed in bleach, after one shower they smell
-Somewhat far from centre, you need a scooter to get to anything

Really Nice pool villa! We were a family of 4 and we loved every minute of our stay. San the taxi driver is the best to go up the steep Hill but eventually we also did it ourselfes by scooter! The view over the Bay is phenominal! And Kit the manager will help you within minutes. Perfectly equiped kicthen and a large fridge! Go and see for yourself! 🥰🤩🙏

We stayed in a villa, we enjoyed having our own space, Kit was lovely, if we needed advice she would help us.
There is a lot of bugs, especially late in the afternoon when the mosquitoes come out but we were provided with big spray and mosquito coils.
It takes about 10-15 to walk into town and there’s is steep hill to walk up/down, you either need to hire a scooter or catch the taxi back each night which costs about 300 THB.
The Vila is expensive for what it is - but I think most accomodation is expensive in Koh Tao. The other Villas looked a lot nicer then ours.
