Absolutely stunning location! In the trees, beautiful pool/breakfast. We hired a bike from the shop nearby, which was arranged for us and taxis if we need them.

A beautiful slice of paradise in the jungle
Everything was so well thought of, the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, the food was amazing too and we ate here often.
It felt like a piece of paradise in the jungle, away from the business of Sairee beach and the resort was just beautiful.
It's the best place we have stayed on our travels and we will 100% be revisiting when we come back to Koh Tao
Everything about the resort itself was perfect but the only thing we'd say is that due to the location (which is beautiful) you really do need a scooter and if you're going to drive one, you should really be experienced (and where a helmet). The roads were unfortunately really busy when we visited (due to it being high season) and so we chose to use the bike less than we wanted to.
Taxis are expensive (starting at 300bht one way, for any distance) and there's not many of them.

The Lodge is locted at a beautiful place with wonderful views. Staff and management are super friendly and give support wherever they can. Very calm and 100% privacy with a beautiful pool. We spent three weeks in Thailand and visited many high quality lodges. However, Eco Tao Lodge (especially Lodge no. 10) Was the best one of all of them; even better than Cape Shark Villas, which made it to the second best place we stayed at.

A romantic and relaxing stay!
The staff was friendly, and the manager was helpful and understanding.
The hotel has a romantic setting because it's a small hotel and everything feels personal.
The view from the room and the pool is beautiful.
The food was delicious, with plenty of choices.
Near the hotel (20 min.) there is a beautiful beach called Tanote Bay. A very beautiful spot for snorkeling!
Koh Tao Island has many elevation changes, so to reach the hotel or to go on excursions you always need a scooter or taxi.

Amazing accommodation in the heart of the jungle with incredibly friendly staff, great amenities (pool, view, restaurant,…), comfortable rooms and delicious breakfast. Overall we loved everything and would definitely book again.
Some days there is a jungle party nearby, so if you are a soft sleeper you can hear some noise

Pretty, but not much to do

Nice secluded location for couples, but as friends travelling together we felt a bit out of place
Power cuts out every 5 minutes at night, room was quite stuffy so we didn't sleep well.
Location is very remote, hotel small and not much to do.
Taxi prices were pretty extortionate – we were 6 people going to the ferry on the last day and they charged us 150 baht each (so 900 baht total for a 6 minute journey). This was actually a taxi organised by the hotel!

Relaxing time at Ecotao
We had a great chilled time at Ecotao lodge. The staff were really friendly and helpful with nice food available at the restaurant.
We enjoyed relaxing at the pool with a nice view of the sea and the room was comfortable with an equally impressive view.
Quite a few power cuts but nothing that impacted our experience. Would stay again for a couple of nights!

Heavenly view from our room and the bathroom. Bed was spacious and comfortable. Room was very cosy anf the staff was very hospitable. The only downside was that we couldn’t smoke in the balcony but other than that no complaints

A hide away. Very nice and quiet surrounded by nature. Comfy beds, loved laying in the hammock watching the sea.
Restaurant and swimming pool also very nice.
The only thing would be to be aware that you have neighbors who you will hear when both on the balcony.
I would have loved to sit on the balcony in the evening but couldn’t because of mosquitoes. Would be nice to have a anti mosquito coil on the balcony.

Everything was excellent- the location in the jungle, the room (huge), the cleanliness, the eco approach, the staff and the owner. As a solo traveller the layout and size encouraged connections with others. I particularly like the hammock on my verandah. Big thank you to Nine, Cami and Yves- a very impressive lodge

The location in the jungle, the wonderful view, the facilities of the lodges and the friendliness of the staff were simply unique. Yves, the owner, gave us great tips for the island and was also a huge help with personal requests. We can recommend the accommodation 100% and will definitely be back.

A little haven of peace surrounded by nature and friendly people.
EcoTao Lodge gave more than just a place to stay. Incredible location with stunning views away from the hustle of the main resorts. Cleverly designed to give you a sense of privacy but with a friendly communal space too. The lodge/room was very comfortable and well appointed with a private balcony with its own seating and hammock ... perfect for chilling after a day out or reading and having a drink. Great shower with views too! Air con really helped stay cool along with the fan was welcome.
Loved the pool and the area around it. Easy to find that sunny spot or a shady retreat whenever needed. Again, well placed fans and mosquito coils helped to avoid getting bitten! The attention to being eco friendly made a difference from eco friendly toiletries, to no plastic bottles and the clever use of waste water etc.
But the best thing ... the wonderful staff team really made me feel relaxed and very welcome. Great communication from the reception staff before arrival including making arrangemenst for transfers to and from the lodge. Very accomodation with booking trips, tours, cooking classes and taxis throughout my stay, and always a friendly 'good morning' each day. Olivier (manager) always took time to check that everything was good but also to have chats with when by the pool/bar making it a much more personal experience. And I keep the best till last ... the bartender (so sorry that I can't recall his name). What an incredibly skilled, friendly and interesting man he is. Brilliant hand made cocktails, very attentive making sure fans were well positioned and orders brought to the lounger/tables, but the chats we had were amazing ... he has such a generous spirit and attitude to life and he was great company. Thank you to the whole staff team for making my stay a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience.

There was nothing that was negative. Some would find it too far out of the resort centres and a reliance on either taxis or hiring a scooter but that was what I wanted on this stay!

Comfortable stay with a very nice view
Prime location! Very nice view from your balcony in the midst of the jungle looking out over the ocean. Shower was great/clean with the same view as mentioned before. Room was clean and tidy (not a lot going on than the necessities). The manager gave us a good introduction upon arrival.
The cabins were spread out well and separated enough but the room below us impacted the view a bit, we asked to change room but it was full. When we walk from room to exit, you have to walk through the restaurant and pool area where people are eating/swimming which is a bit awkward but didn’t really cause us any issues. You pay for the view. No coffee machine but also no milk for the instant coffee

This place was absolutely beautiful. The staff were amazing, the views were spectacular, and the place was spotless. The owner even went around to each guest greeting them, which was a lovely touch. Very reasonably priced for what it is. The spa treatments are also great value. The pool area is also beautiful, overlooking Ko Samui and Ko Phangan.
The menu was a little limited and food was basic. But it was still good!
- Strange smells when you turn on the tap or shower in the bathroom
- Lots of mosquitoes
- No room service (you had to walk to reception for questions)
- Pricy stay for the facilities you get
- Unless you rent a scooter, it is difficult to get around the island. Taxis to and from this location cost upwards of 300 baht each way for a 5 - 10 min drive

Beautiful hotel a bit higher up, but still within walking distance to the beach (long walk).
The room were very nicely built, right in the djungle but with modern amenities and comfortably. The view from the restaurant/Pool was amazing. Food in the restaurant was very good and staff was super nice. Would stay here again!
We were unlucky to have a party close by on our first night, which made it impossible to sleep, even with earplugs. These parties take place once a month at some location close by, it was just bad luck for us. The second night was blissfully silent with just the sounds of nature around us.
