Check in was good (Thanks Vanita!). Room was comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. Requested extra towels which arrived promptly. Room warmed up once heating turned up. Bed was very comfortable.
Travelling with senior lady, bed was a bit too high for her to get into but we managed!

I have stayed at this hotel 4 times now and its always been great, until this last time. wont be staying again.
The hotel keeps introducing charges, there is now a charge to park your car and they also take a £50 deposit on arrival WHY?
They say its so that if you want to charge anything against your room, well I don`t , I pay for it as I go so no thanks....they say if you don't accept you cant stay. its just a scam to take £50 off every guest save it in there bank and then, when you check out they tell you the £50 will be back in your account in 3 to 4 days WHAT! I wont be staying here again.
On top of that our room , the fridge didn't work and the heating didn't work, we complained and was upgraded into a 3rd floor room, which was better, but having to move everything is just unacceptable. I would avoid this hotel and find somewhere else to go.

It was welcoming and the staff were lovely the entrance was clean and tidy and the room was good everything was excellent the food and pool excellent

the staff were friendly and very helpful all staff were attentive and professional the hotel was spotlessly clean.
the food in the grill bar was of very high quality and the menu catered for our different diets.
we had three rooms as my nephew decided to stay the night all of our bed were very uncomfortable four of us had a very restless night tossing and turning to get comfortable. all of us had to take pain relief during the night and in the morning due to back ache .what should have been a relaxing stay was quite stressful and we did not feel rested. we had journeys home of over 200 miles and we were very fatigued by the time we reached home.

Was comfortable.
Not an easy check in.
Room was not finished: all plugs were off, bin was not lined, tissue box was empty.
We stayed for 3 nights and housekeeping did not come in to clean room, replace towels or tea and coffee, empty or line bins, replace toilet roll or even make the bed.
Check in staff did not tell us about the access to amenities: gym, pool etc and we were only told about it on our last night when it was too late to make use of them.

A big spacious reception lounge and friendly staff at the reception desk. It was also nice to have two proper beds for the four of us in our stay. Usually when booking on other hotels we find ourselves with one bed and a sofa bed.
It was advertised that the pool was open until a certain time and yet upon arrival we were told that the pool was already closed which was a bit disappointing as my children were excited about the pool. We thought paying extra for the usage of pool was a good deal but no, we were let down.

Only thing I liked was the convenience
The staff could barely be bothered with you. The tiles were mouldy around the bath and a bit of bleach would have been good! The heating didn’t work in the room no towels in the room pool was cold not very welcoming and the breakfast was terrible! It wasn’t overly expensive but for a Marriott I expected better.

Very very dirty rooms, dirty showers with mold on shower and hair everywhere . Room AC/heater not working they have a portable heater that doesn’t even heat.
Breakfast is not good and the bottom area is cold with portable heaters again which are tiny and can’t even heat the space.

Glitch on check-in. no extractor fan in the bathroom, so room steamed up, as the window doesn't open. No horseradish sauce, odd for a place that offers steak. Breakfast rolls and croisants old, verging on stale.

The food wasn't as good as we’d hoped. No breakfast tea at all, no Marmite, food placed into dishes with lids so went soggy and tasteless due to steam, hot plates would be a good idea instead.

I would have given 9.0 but I clearly remember asking about parking and was told to pay £7.50 only to get a parking charge notice of £100 a couple of weeks later. I called the hotel and was told 'we will cancel this charge'. I have just received a parking charge notice REMINDER and it is quite frustrating and distressing that guests have to go through the harassment from parking eye for a service already paid for. Marriott needs to sort this out please and sync your systems for future guests.

Ordered luxury hot choc x 2 at the bar as a treat, then they realised no marshmallows available, the staff didn't really know what to do, didn't really know what to offer as an alternative so I said not to worry.
No biscuits in the room for coffee ... we've stayed in other 3 & 4 star hotels, where there are complimentary biscuits.
No lattes were available for breakfast, and when a staff member was told the milk had run out, he said to use the other area.near the cereal.
Its sometimes the little things that make it better, but saying that we would come again .overall we had a good few days where we relaxed as a family

The hotel has always been great, the breakfasts are excellent, and the pool and facilities are also great.
I have stayed here several times but never paid for parking until this last visit, why!!!! The price of the hotel should include parking and it not be a surprise when you arrive. The breakfast on our second day wasn't ready at 7am , no coffee or fresh bread,so a little under prepared.
