Pleasant enough for a meal and good value

Parking is always a bonus. It was a spacious public area. The bedroom was adequate and the bed was reasonably comfortable. Good shower too.

It was a little tired in the public area. While the food was superb, it was nearly cold on Saturday night and so was breakfast on Sunday morning. A HOT cup of tea at breakfast would have been nice but the staff didn’t seem to understand the importance of boiling water! It was a little chaotic

Over priced, lack of care, awful food and staff who couldn't care less.

Location was dodgy as Swindon is not a safe place in my opinion. Breakfast was pre order but they didn't know the order and had to go out for milk.

THE NOISE. Not the disco, that was no problem. The empty bottles being recycled in the early hours was way too noisy. They didn't listen after we should out the window several times.

Good location, basic room which was cold

The staff were lovely. The room was clean and had been updated slightly. Free parking on site. Good location. Nice bar area. Good breakfast (food).

The room had a draught from the window, the curtains were 2 inches too short for the window and the draught was awful, the radiator made a clicking noise all night, the pillows weren't comfy, the bed was very small, the sink was in the room not the bathroom. The breakfast was lovely but the tea was awful, using the coffee machine for hot water doesnt work and the coffee was very dated and luke warm. We were told we were the only guests but doors were banging at 6 am!

Excellent weekend

The vibe in hotel was amazing, the room was lovely, gorgeous big shower, very good bathroom mirror. The bar and hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The bar turns into a nightclub after 9.30pm ish, very good prices for food and drinks as a guest of hotel you get 10% off. Very good stay will definitely return

Perfect for a short stay, if you don't mind the noise

Stayed here for 1 night, great location for Old Town, loads of great restaurants, bars and pubs nearby. You should not stay here on the Friday/Saturday unless you want to hear the music from the disco below all night (3am-ish) though that didn't affect us as we were out. The room was small but very clean, perfect for a short stay. The only thing I missed was a full-length mirror.

The breakfast is preordered at check-in, we were asked what time we'd come for breakfast (it is served 9-10am) we said 9am, and were at our table for 35mins before our 2 breakfasts arrived. Once they did arrive they were nice, albeit a little cold. The tea and coffee station didn't seem to have any hot water for making teas, though it had teabags. There weren't any staff to ask for help The step up to the shower in our room is a bit of a hazard, we stubbed our toes many times as it just blends in with the floor. The shower gel provided said it was hand wash.

A fine stay in Swindon.

Location is good, pretty impressive looking building. Choice of breakfasts was nice, one of the better pubs doing food. Room was a nice size, looked newly freshened up and modernised. Plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits etc in the room. Good shower pressure. Friendly staff checked us in, and those working the bar in the evening (however lacking knowledge of the ales on tap was a bit odd). Music and events were advertised but thankfully the evenings were peaceful (good soundproofing?).

Steep stairs to the rooms upstairs via heavy doors. Some miscommunication regarding serving of food, already stopped by 4pm and not the original 5pm. Some staff friendly, others not so much, came across as if we were bothering them for food or drinks, maybe depends on day vs evening, or weekend vs weekday staff. One member of staff actually questioned that we were staying at the hotel when it came to the ordering of breakfast.

Very clean & tidy. Staff were all young and very amiable. Breakfast was first class. We visited an event on the Ballroom which was fantastic.

We realised it would be affected by noice as a nightclub till the early hours. They had placed ear plugs by are beds so they knew too. It wasn’t to bad well slept as very tired. Might have been different if we hadn’t been tired.

Almost perfect

Excellent breakfasts. Really nice staff. We were staying there because they were hosting a wake for a good friend of ours and everything was handled really well.

For the sake of your health and sanity stay away from this hotel at weekends, even if offered free.

Despite the warning at time of booking that there is a "disco" until 03:00 on Fridays and Saturdays this does not begin to convey the utter assault on the senses of the full blown night club on 2 floors throughout the hotel. The noise levels in the bedrooms surpassed description and the whole hotel shook as if in light earthquake mode, all until almost 04:00. In 40 years of international travel I've never stayed in anything remotely close to this level of severe discomfort, actually closer to torture. For the sake of your health and sanity stay away from this hotel at weekends, even if offered for free.

Great location to the Old Town area of Swindon. Close to bus routes and easy walk into the Town Centre. Lovey area for restaurants. Full English in the morning,but could be organised better. All in all a good stay...

Breakfast organisation - could be better. Milk ,hot water should be out before guests arrive. Would be nice to know what's included for a Full English Breakfast to avoid waste..

The rooms were cosy. Bed was clean and comfy breakfast was amazing

If you want an early night on the weekend its not for you but we loved it.we are 58 yrs old and loved the 80s songs they blasted out till 2am.breakfast was 5 star fully recommend.

Avoid it unless you are there for the nightclub

Although in retrospect there was a message (deep into the email) about the attached nightclub we were not aware when booking

In the end we decided we could not stay as the receptionist confirmed that the DJ was likely to stay on till 4am and the room we were allocated would definitely hear the music loudly . I am really disappointed this was not clear at the time of booking .. there was no way I was going to stay there and at this point appear to have lost my money

Brilliant breakfast! Really professional, helpful and friendly staff. Beautifully clean room. Fan sound outside room and because it was hot weather we had the windows open.. The staff gave us ear plugs which really helped. The room was lovely but quite cramped and the tv could not be seen from the bed near the door - the these were not issues for us as we were out and about most of the time. Excellent value. Disappointing. Great staff, impossible to sleep due to noise.

It was a very warm day, but temperature in the room was uncomfortably high, & no possibility of ventilation due to extreme noise from the rear terrace. Additional noise due to DJ in the main bar. I ended up only using the room to take a shower at 11:30PM, then decided to drive home instead of staying. I pre paid, so probably the most expensive shower I’ve ever taken. Sleep would have been impossible.

Lack of Sleep 😢😢

On arrival we were asked if we really wanted to stay, thought strange. Had no time to try and book somewhere else anyway. Was informed there was a party on upstairs not far from our room till midnight and the pub turns into a nightclub after 11pm and stays open till 3am. Nightmare. Surely this should be shared with customers prior to booking. Should of asked for some sort of compensation hardly any sleep whatsoever!!!

Nice pub/hotel with friendly staff.

There was a nightclub until 3 am. My room was just above the beergarden with lots of very noisy people which made it difficult to sleep. A very hot night and no airconditioning didn't help either. Breakfast didn't start until 9 am.
