Good apartment but difficult access

The apartment is fine overall. It's not amazing, but it has two bathrooms which is very convenient, and the bedrooms were tidy with clean bed linen

The access is really complicated. The street is pedestrian and the neighborhood didn't feel very nice. We arrived at night and had to leave the car far away. There was also a march, so it took us almost two hours to get to the apartment. Carrying the luggage was almost impossible since you have to park far and then go up several floors by stairs, something that isn't mentioned before booking. The kitchen is poorly equipped and the chairs are in bad condition.

It was quite hot with lack of air con so we had to open the windows but it was quite loud all through the night.

The location was as planned for our arrival by train and departure by cruise ship.

Drop box key not suitable for foreign visitors not having communication access. Need to give out security code earlier, for drop box. Need to clarify which exit to take from main station, side entrance not main entrance. Not for elderly people, as three flights of worn stairs to negotiate. Shower was a bit of a let down. Doors were off the runners, and were duck taped up in a semi open position. Cleanliness of cutlery and crockery was dubious. The freezer compartment of the fridge was so iced up it wasn't possible to open the drawers, or even close the door properly.

I loved the culture mix on the street. Proximity of the train station makes travelling very easy. Also the food and breakfast options around are really cool! + the flat is pretty big

Very good

The apartment was clean and everything you need was their. Host send excellent directions, also checked again if we are happy. Close to train station and also to harbour.

There were lots and lots of steps, and painted black. No easy to get our luggage up and to see the steps. We were all over 60years. I will stay there again if it wasn't for the steps.

The location is central, so everything is inside of an about 10 mins. walk through a very picturesque city, with medieval streets next to the town-center, which take you to the sea. The fact that the neighbouring is populated by a good number of Marocchini, who by-the-way work in the Harbour is only adding to the exoticism of the city. Travelling is, after all, about new experiences! We spent several days at the property, a large party of two parents with four children (3-14), not to mention my mother-in-law! Even she was hard to find anything to criticise and was in admiration of the apartment, huge and well furnished, with that touch of beauty innate to all things Italy and found some museums to spend time visiting. When not at the beach, the children went to the huge Aquarium - although they enjoyed very much spending time on the Galley, and I (Dad, that is), was so pleased to oversee them all! My favourite past-time, tough, I fully confess, at a café's table (Hb Café 1969) or at the restaurant. I'll try a separate review for the restaurant though ('E Prie de Mä' - in the Genoese dialect), which was far beyond expectation. The peak of our stay at Genoa was, however, the boat trip to Portofino: over one hour each way and then simple things like ice cream, walking around meeting other people and enjoying the weather. I know there are people who when about to start writing a review would feel all of a sudden sharp critics of the immigrants in the area, or about a sink in need of attention. As far as I'm concerned there is a fair balance between what you pay and what you get.In this respect it seems to me that our stay was huge value for money and we had a tremendously helpful guest.

Superb

The apartment is very well situated, close to the train station and the cruise terminal, which was perfect for us. Alessandra is a wonderful host, she sent us useful indications to find the location fast and helped us with a lot of info about the city. Behind that strange door there's a great apartment, spatious and very well equipped. There are 2 bathrooms, very useful when you are travelling with 3 other people :). Don't be afraid of the immigrants living in the building, they are ok and civilized, even if they spend their time outside of the building in the evening. We had no problems and we felt safe there.

Slightly difficult to find the apartment as Google shows the wrong house. It is better to us Hotel Albergo as a point to locate the apartment.

Nice appartment in a multicultural area

The appartment has two bathrooms! Very comfortable when living there with more than two person. Alessandra, the host, was very gentle and helpful. She gave us many tips for what to see in Genova or recommended us some good restaurants. And she replied very fast in whatsapp:)

Esperienza Terribile!

La proprietaria è stata gentile nel permetterci di anticipare il check-in di un'oretta, alle 14:00 anziché alle 15:00.

Casa terribile, al terzo piano senza ascensore (non specificato nella descrizione della casa così come segnalato anche da altri), in un contesto vecchio e sporco, abitato e frequentato solo da immigrati, extracomunitari alcuni dei quali tranquilli e gentili, altri invece (la maggior parte in realtà) molesti, ubriachi dalla mattina alla sera e aggressivi fra di loro, infatti ci sono state risse proprio sotto casa. Tornando all'appartamento è vecchissimo, sporco (uno dei due bagni inutilizzabile per la puzza di pipì persistente!), senza acqua calda nel bidet, doccia con ruggine e con aggancio doccino rotto. Porta d'ingresso stile cantiere (foto), come se non ci fosse, muri sporchi e rotti, lenzuola e tovaglie vecchie e sporche, mobili rotti e materassi molto scomodi! Che dire, un'esperienza assolutamente terribile!

Nefasto

La propietaria era muy amable y estaba muy atenta. Los baños eran lo único que estaba reformado. La estación está cerca.

El barrio era bastante malo, no es recomendable ir por la noche (las dos noches que estuvimos hubo peleas debajo de casa). No es un barrio familiar. La puerta del apartamento era de madera y parecía muy insegura, solo tenía un cerrojo y no daba seguridad. La lavadora no funcionaba correctamente y desaguaba en el suelo, y no había tendedero. Hay una cama que no se puede usar de lo vieja que esta. Y no habían enchufes cerca de todas las camas. El apartamento estaba muy viejo y necesitaba urgentemente una reforma (salvo los baños que si lo estaban). La relación calidad-precio es pésima.

Il check-in è stato estremamente rapido e comodo grazie alla gestione online, che ci ha permesso di arrivare senza stress e di accedere all’alloggio in totale autonomia. Il gestore si è dimostrato fin da subito molto disponibile e attento, rispondendo prontamente a tutte le nostre richieste. Ci ha fornito preziose indicazioni sui parcheggi nelle vicinanze e ci ha consigliato diversi servizi utili in zona.

L’alloggio presenta alcune criticità che sarebbe opportuno sistemare. La porta d’ingresso, piuttosto datata, risulta difficile da aprire, creando qualche disagio all’arrivo. Uno dei letti aveva problemi strutturali, ma, dopo averlo segnalato, il gestore si è mostrato disponibile e ci ha assicurato che sarebbe stato sostituito. Anche il box doccia di uno dei due bagni necessita di qualche intervento di manutenzione. In generale, la casa ha del potenziale, ma richiederebbe qualche importante miglioria per garantire un soggiorno più confortevole.
