Great place, beautiful concept, perfect location, helpful staff, totally recommend.

The location was perfect in the old town near all the sites and close to the port and aquarium. Great value and great staff communication. We were able to store our luggage before check in at 8.30am and then before midday got an early check in which was much appreciated and made a huge positive difference to our day. The room was very clean with a very reasonable bathroom in a wonderful old building (which has a very small lift). They offered daily room service and provided snacks, water bottles, and a kettle.It’s near good cafes and restaurants. We were very impressed with the Albergo Etico concept which makes these hotels very special. Totally recommend.

We liked everything but would suggest toppers on the mattresses to make them slightly more comfortable/less springy. And a small fridge would also have been useful. Otherwise the rooms were as described and met our expectations.

Great location and amazing staff!

The staff were wonderful and very welcoming, always happy to help. Communication over booking.com was swift and instructions to find the hotel were easy! Great location, about 15min walk from the train station. They looked after our bags before and after our stay. The room was spacious but not large, just enough for a couple suitcases and racking to store clothing. Bathroom was good but it was located in a seperate room down the hall.

Doors and floors were very noisy, especially when unlocking doors as it echoed through the hall. Keys get stuck abit in the locks. The room we stayed in had a seperate bathroom located at the end of the hallway, it was only for us to use which was good. However, the shower could have used a deeper clean. Walking to the bathroom at night and having to unlock the door was loud and there was another room beside it which we were worried about disturbing.

Booked two nights, left after one night.

Nothing good.

Difficult to access and find the room. Dark room with an old bed, apparently assembled from parts of other old beds. Dingy atmosphere. The neighbourhood felt unsafe. Saw nothing to support its ethical pretentious. I would not have stayed at all if it wasn't too late to find somewhere else.

Beautiful building

Beautiful old building with many lovely features. We enjoyed having such a large apartment to ourselves, with excellent facilities. Communication was excellent and staff at the reception were friendly, allowing us to store our bags after checkout.

Disappointing

The bathroom is big and comfortable, providing enough toilet paper and wonderful showering. Air conditioning is working with cool enough for extremely hot weather, but its out looking was likely broken. Location is quite good as it is around town centre, 10-30 mins walk for most of scenic spots, and it is closed to train station and filx bus spots (10-15 mins walk with 15-25kg luggage).

There isn’t having any reception staff in the hotel (there is a reception indeed but have no one there for 3 days). As you need to communicate with staffs through WhatsApp and phone call. Room and private toilet was separated, and there was another room between the room and the private toilet which isn’t private and safety. Room was small for two people with their luggages. The room had provided coffee machine but it’s not working. There isn’t any room services.

This is a very old building that has been very well preserved through time and owners. It is located in the heart of the Old Town, just a walk from the docks, a minute from the Genova Piazza Principe Train Station, seconds from taxi and bus stops, and surrounded by excellent restaurants, and in sipite of this, it is a quiet comfortable place. Furniture, walls, floor, and bathroom are clean, comfortable, and nice. Excellent relation price-product!!

The elevator (lift) keeps a nasty-stinky oddor that probably comes from underneath the building, and the elevator itself is a very small thing not good for a big guy! Although stairs are a bit complicated; signals with room numbers and arrows will do it for a straight walk to the rooms, specially for those who prefer not to use the elevator.

Check in was very difficult. The signage is terrible. The check in desk is behind an unmarked door in a very windy building. It is marked "3rd floor" in the lobby, but be aware they mean American 3rd floor. Once you get to the correct floor, none of the doors are marked for the apartments. We had to call the number provided and they met us in the hallway. It's room 11, by the way, hopefully it will help someone else. The room was clean and location is excellent.

The host Paolo upgraded us to another apartment which was free. Modern apartment in a historical part of Genoa and close to harbour where you can see alot of cruise ships and there is plenty of restaurants

For us it was a bit of a cultural chock to expirience that mostly beaches in Italy is private and you need to pay for 25-40€ per day.. we visited some public beaches which was ok. Though we will never go on beach vacation in Italy. Shopping and dining and sightseeing in Italy is ok. In Genoa is parking difficult and expensive compare to Germany/France.
