The best boooking I ever did worldwide

Everything was exceptional, starting with the location: Via del Campo 5, right in the soul of the historic center, on what is unquestionably one of its most authentic and vibrant streets. Step outside and you are immediately surrounded by life, cafés, wine bars, small local shops, taverne, osterie and that unmistakable Genovese atmosphere that can’t be manufactured. Everything worth seeing is genuinely walkable. The Aquarium of Genoa is just minutes away, the San Lorenzo Cathedral is close enough to wander to without thinking, and even the beautiful San Siro Church is right there, quietly anchoring the neighborhood in history. The property itself has something rare: character and soul. It feels authentic, cared for, and deeply connected to its surroundings, not like a generic rental dropped into a historic building. Everything worked flawlessly; nothing was broken, neglected, or out of place. It was comfortable without being soulless, charming without trying too hard. Staying here didn’t feel like visiting Genoa, it felt like living it. Easily one of the best bookings I’ve ever made, and a place I would return to without hesitation.

The host! Ivo is an amazing host who will take his time to welcome you and tell you where to go and what to visit, including a bit of Genova’s history. The apartment was very cozy and had a spacious bathroom, amazing shower and everything was really neat. You counted with coffee, tea, sugar and salt.

Good apartment

First and foremost, we liked the hospitality of our host signore Ivo. He recommended a lot of interesting routes, told us where to go, not to miss the most beautiful nooks of Genova, shared some interesting history facts and accommodated our schedule both during check-in and check-out. Apartment was clean, comfortable, well-equipped.

Short indepth stay in Genova old town in authentic dwelling with modern comforts.

We were accommodated to check in early. House was equipped with basics like coffee, oil and vinegar, salt. Host included water and dolce as an extra touch. Location was superb for the old town. Beds and pillows were wonderful. Quiet nights' sleep although a courtyard was outside and beneath our windows. We also appreciated two queen beds for each adult. Hosts attended to small details with professional hospitality skills.

The space was cozy as noted and it was difficult to find a place to set my suitcase rather than laying it open on the floor. Small flat screen TV with cable network not a "smart TV". We learned to make ourselves comfortable though and adapted well.

Memorable stay

Excellent location, walking distance to aquarium, museums and major landmarks. Situated in walkable area, no cars. Host friendly gave lots of tips. Great restaurant nearby. Market just across the street. Apartment spotless clean and well equipped.

Great place for young people or families without children

The house is nice, a bit small, but clean and equipped with everything you need. The host is very nice and was very helpful with giving info about where to eat good food, what to visit and did a short history lesson for us. It's a great place for young people who want to experience the heart of Genoa.

Not related to the host or the house itself, but the area has changed over the years (it is not our first time in Genoa). The area is very loud during both day and night. Trash pick-up is happening late at night, the old streets are full and it gets loud. If you are a family with small children I DO NOT RECOMMEND staying in the city center. Wish we knew about the noise before booking.

A wonderful apartment in Genoa

We've loved our stay at this apartment and highly recommend it to any traveller, in particular families who need two bedrooms. The apartment isn't big but still feels spacious and inviting. Already before the check-in we received a WhatsApp message from the owner. Upon arrival, her father Ivo was there to greet us. He was extremely nice, showing us the map of the city, telling us stories and giving us useful tips which we used. The apartment's location is fantastic, very central with many of the city's attractions within walking distance. There are great restaurants nearby, the aquarium is 5 minutes away and the street is very calm and quite in the evening. The apartment is well equipped with two comfortable bed rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. It's just what we needed and we were very glad about the stay here.

Everything was perfect and we would certainly choose it again on our next visit to Genoa.

Lovely home in Genova’s historical center.

Our experience staying in Mr. Ivo’s apartment was more than positive. First of all, the recently renovated apartment is very charming and extremely clean, and it is equipped with every comfort. The two bedrooms are very spacious and the beds are truly very comfortable. The bathroom is small but functional and spotless, and the kitchen is spacious and well equipped with appliances and cookware. The apartment is located on Via del Campo, a very quiet street with plenty of small grocery stores and convenience shops, bakeries, cafés, and delis. It’s also just a 5-minute walk from the Old Port. Mr. Ivo is truly a wonderful person. He welcomed us warmly, generously, and with great availability. He shared anecdotes and gave us precise and thorough information about Genova’s main attractions, and he recommended a restaurant with excellent value for money. We are truly enthusiastic and grateful for this experience! Warm regards to Mr. Ivo!

Wonderful stay

The flat was great with everything we needed. Comfortable, quiet, near the port, aquarium and everything else we wanted to see. There were some sweets to welcome us (very well received by my kids)! Towel and shower gel, plenty enough for our stay. Ivo who gave us the keys, showed us on a map everything we needed to know and was extremely helpful and lovely. I would come back there anytime I come to Genova!

Great host. They where at the apartment upon our arrival and at our departure. Gave us all the explanations of facility use. Suggested to us where to go and eat. It was absolutely brilliant. Great location in the heart of the action in old Genova.

Pippee's Aquarium Home is situated right in the centre of old Genova with everything one could want nearby. Grocery shops, butchers, bakers, hardware stores, bars and restaurants are all on the doorstep. The apartment is reached by climbing one flight of stairs. Ivo, our host was really friendly and lived close to the apartment but we didn't need to disturb him during our stay. The apartment is well equipped and was absolutely spotless. We'd happily stay there again.

A second set of keys would have proved useful, though when we mentioned this to Ivo on our departure, he told us that all we had to do was ring him and he'd have given us a second set. So this wasn't really an issue at all.

Good stay in the city center

Good appartement, perfect for a longer stay since it has opportunity to cook something. Location was perfect. A lot of bakeries, supermarkets and restaurants in the neighborhood. Everything was clean. We got a good explanation about some highlights in the city. Very welcomed

The house is cosy and well equipped. The space was incredibly clean and well-maintained, with all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay. You can feel like Located in one of the most attractive and charming areas of Genoa. A special mention to the host, who was incredibly kind and attentive throughout our stay. Their hospitality truly made our visit even more enjoyable.

Wonderful location in old Genoa.

Excellent location - once I had found it. The property was quiet and exceptionally clean, and Ivo provided a great deal of information on local amenities. Once I had oriented myself, I found the flat was perfectly placed to experience the old part of the city. Easy to slip out in the morning for fresh focaccia and coffee. Good kitchen with clean, new facilities.

Difficult to find at first. It is actually a very easy five minute walk from Darsena metro station but I made the mistake of taking a taxi which was completely disorienting. The property is next to a barber shop - look out for the barber's pole!

Brilliant location and excellent host will definitely be using it again

Very good communication all the time . Very friendly host and always eager to help and please. They gave us so many tips of where to go and what to visit . Unfortunately the time did not allow us to see all locations that we would . I have no hesitation to recommend !

Very central location, Ivo welcomed us very warmly and gave us lots of tips. Lots of nice coffee places and restaurants nearby. The apartment itself has everything you need and beds were comfortable. It can be a bit noisy at night, but when closing the windows all the noise was blocked out so this was a good solution. The apartment has an airconditioning so also the heat is not a problem when staying here.

The location is amazing, one can just walk 5 minutes and enjoy the harbour. The train and subway stations are also in a walking distance. The host is super friendly, showed us the map of the city and answered our questions. He was always in touch on Whatsapp but wasn't annoying or anything. The apartment had everything that we needed: the kitchen is well equipped, the beds were comfy, we really enjoyed our stay.

The internet was slow but it's because the internet provider hasn't finished maintenance in the house. But the host provides a modem with a sim-card inside for the guests, which is very nice of him! The apartment is in the city centre where all the streets are narrow, so we only had windows in the bedrooms but not in the living room. But that's what you get when you stay in an old part of the city – it's not a flaw of the flat.

Ivo (Paola's father) met us at the apartment at the agreed time. He could not have been more helpful. He gave us a fantastic overview of the area and although we had been to Genova before, he recommended out some places that we had not heard of, that we should visit. He subsequently helped us out (via WhatsApp) with a few other questions we had later. The apartment is quite cosy with 2 rooms and was spotlessly clean. The kitchen was well equipped and had plenty of dishware and pots for our week long stay. It did not have a clothes washer but that was not a major problem for us. The apartment is located in the Centro Storico of Genova and is just around the corner from a wonderful bakery (Paneficio Sebastiano) and a great deli (Cacio & Pepe). It is within easy reach of Stazione Principe and other public transportation. I highly recommend this apartment for a relaxing time in central Genova.

Great clean apartment with super facilities and wonderful hosts. Amazing location.

Such a lovely little apartment in the heart of Genova. The apartment is newly redone and so everything functions well. Furthermore it’s equipped with everything you need for the stay; rooms as well as kitchen and bathroom. Wonderful service from both Paula and Ivo, who is always close by and will rush to aid you if needed. It’s close to restaurants and sights, and the kids loved spending time at the pool in the old port (walking distance). We’ll definitely come back, and we’d recommend it to everyone we know going that way.

Getting to the parking close by was difficult, but the hosts were also very helpful in that area.
