Great location, lovely hotel, enormous comfortable room with amazing bathroom, good dining, extremely helpful staff.

Cleaning schedule agreed at check-in was not adhered to. Corporate special offers not communicated to local staff nor set up on financial system.

Nice hotel in a great location.

Malmaison Dundee is right across the street from the main rail station and two minutes walk to the city centre, surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants (if you like Indian food, Gumnam restaurant just around the corner on Union Street is excellent). We treated ourselves to a suite, and while the hotel lobby and stairwell are sumptious we thought that our suite, which was huge, was a little bit tired. The view was great though and the bed was super comfy. Large bathroom with two showers and a standalone bath.

One of the two tv's didn't work which was no loss as far as we were concerned, and being at the front there was some traffic/revelling noise. We didn't mind the squeaky floorboards too much.

Spacious and comfortable room.

Very noisy from the pub outside. Very noisy from guests in the next room. Only 1 set of towels for 2 people. Staff didn't acknowledge you when you walked past reception.

Nice reception staff (though night reception didnt even acknowledge us coming in) nice bar staff.

Room was stuffy, small, dated, water stained with fixtures falling out by the RAWL plugs, bathroom door with chunks out of it, HUGE water marks on roof. Tenerife 3 star maybe.

Excellent Hotel

The room and bathroom were lovely and well put together. Small refrigerator in room was very useful. The bar was lovely and good fun, especially the upstairs doggy themed floor. Staff were great.

Lighting a bit dark in the room and only overhead lighting in bathroom - so hard to put on makeup!

Convenient distance from train station

Temperature of the room was far too hot and adjusting the thermostat made no difference. Couldn’t even open the window but I guess it was because we were on the fourth floor but surely you should be able to open it a little for some fresh air The lift was so unreliable wouldn’t go to level 4 so had to use stairs

Room far too hot and nothing done after asking twice (no fan at request either). Breakfast had several missing items and was cold (not like warm - actually cold)! Repeat customer and definitely noticed a decline in standards.

Really enjoyed our stay, staff and other visitors were very nice people, especially those working the nights - a special shout out to them :) Location was excellent and it was easy to get around the city to see what we intended to.

Unsatisfactory

The staff and manager Chris were extremely professional and apologetic about the issues we encountered and offered a reasonable discount / solution so thank you for that. However we won’t be staying again unfortunately and we are frequent visitors to Dundee for family .

We booked the suite but had the junior suite as the heating wasn’t working in the room. We were there for a family funeral sadly so just needed things to work and run smoothly . Our room was cold so a member of staff bought a heater up . Poorly designed and the dim dark lighting in rooms make it impractical and difficult to do the basics like have and get ready/ put make up on as no natural lighting or mirror with a desk ( and this was in the junior suite so not sure if it’s less functional in regular rooms !) . Workmen outside our room in the morning dealing with the scaffolding made for a lack of privacy surprise so we pulled the curtains in an already badly lit room the room .

Was my birthday would have been nice to be offered a room upgrade as we are loyal and regular customers. Scaffolding outside and front door out of order. Cocktails overpriced at £15 although the young man with long hair makes delicious cocktails. Bathroom not as clean. Hair behind toilet seat and empty pill packet unger toilet roll holder.

Ideal for our visit to Dundee Rep and the V and A

I thought the bed was very comfortable, though my wife didn't agree, and the room overall was perfect for our stay. The shower was powerful and hot, while the dinner in the restaurant was very good indeed. The check in staff were friendly and helpful, as were the restaurant staff, and the location was perfect for our visit to Dundee Rep and the V and A.

Pity that there is no parking, not even a facility somewhere nearby, and also a shame that there was no bottled water in the room (although most mid-range hotels seem to have given up on that these days).

Should have been better, I was generally uncomfortable

Good location , friendly staff

The room was hot (over 26 degrees) I put the aircon on to sleep but it would switch itself off after a few hours. I woke up sweating. There are no hooks in the bathroom to hang towels , the bath is small and yet it is to make an inconvenient shower. Finally the lighting is dark, there are times when you want to see what you are doing
