Extremely disappointing stay at a festive time of year.

The look of the property is very nice.

I did not like the freezing temperature in the room upon arrival, nor the dripping taps in the bathroom, nor the mold around and under the bathtub, nor the disgusting coffee cafetiere beside the bed.

The period features and classic style of the room. Very clean. Although small, had everything we needed. The gardens are beautiful. Fantastic, friendly staff and wonderful breakfast. Allowed us to have an early check in- thank you!

TV didn’t work. As it’s an old property, could hear people in other rooms (although this wasn’t too loud to really disturb us)

Relaxing and absolute bliss.

Warm friendly welcome. Unbelievable service. So helpful. Welcome treats in our room. Lots to see just short drive away. Blenheim palace, Diddlysquat farm, Rousham House and Gardens, the Costwolds and more. Excellent restaurant, locally sourced produce, listed in the Michelin guide for the quality of the food. Excellent bar food. Gardens immaculate. EV CHARGING point. Plenty of room in the carpark. Jim the owner was an absolute ⭐️

Overpriced poor value , stay in town better option

Comfortable rooms and bed

Owner and policy of booking . Better restaurants in town and very overpriced . You try and cancel a full 8 hours before a lunch reservation they charge you 25 pounds per head even when the restaurant is not full. Have to purchase an over priced set menu better off staying and eating in town . Only two beers on tap and overpriced . Owner tells the same joke to all customers.

Good, but not perfect which for the price it should have been.

Breakfast was good. Wish they did unsmoked fish. We were served with a smile and waitress was friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

One of the chaps on reception was rather abrupt and unwelcoming. But chap who escorted us to our room was charming and kind. Our room smelt very musty and damp but that was our only complaint.

Great and memorable time, very enjoyable.

Atmosphere, luxurious room, added tea's and sherry. Food is superb, very close rooms to where you eat, lovely setting. Wife liked the large bed and mattress , very comfortable. washing bath and shower excellent size.

Personally I had no issues. Wife bemoaned emergency green light above door although it didn't affect her sleeping. The wash basin sink cold tap she couldn't turn on and the water was not as hot as she wished for the bath, although I put that down to others also using the water at that time as there was five other couples staying adjoining to us.

A very comfortable stay! To be recommended!

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay - Killingworth Castle fitted perfectly with our plans! The room was very clean and warm - the breakfast was excellent. To be thoroughly recommended!

We were not aware that the kitchen closed at 6pm on a Sunday! We were fine but I do think this needs to be flagged up by the property when booking for a Sunday evening. There is no other obvious eating places nearby!

Fabulous place for a comfy stay with excellent food

We had a great stay where the staff were very friendly and welcoming, the food was excellent and the bedroom clean and cosy. We weren't aware of the quality of the restaurant before booking and were pleasantly surprised!

Better sound insulation in the bedrooms would have been a plus as can hear footsteps etc.

Room was good, unfortunately sleep was disturbed throughout the night by what sounded like a very noisy/broken pump of some sort which reverberated throughout the whole room intermittently.

Lovely warm place to stay with staff whose welcoming attitude added to our visit.

Our room in the building next to the pub was cosy, had high beamed ceilings and was clean and tidy. Breakfast was excellent and the pub was very cosy, warm and inviting

The car park exit was steep and on one occasion I scraped the underside of my car on it, second time around I exited with much more caution and was able to not experience this issue again. The bedroom room lighting could have been brighter.

Very memorably and enjoyable stay.

The location was beautiful, was quiet and peaceful, lovely room and was good value. All the staff I came in contact was very polite and friendly, and nothing was to much trouble, the food was exceptional too. I would definately recommend for a short break.
