Nice and relaxing in a large comfortable bed.

The room was lovely and warm. The comfortable bed, breakfast, staff, especially Darren. Very pleasant member of staff going that extra mile taking my bag to the car- in the rain! Great location and plenty of parking. Must be very picturesque in the summer as next to river. Must return.

Would 100% recommend this hotel - Lovely stay

The staff were absolutely excellent, so welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you. The decor in the rooms was fabulous and loved the chocolate chip cookies, such a nice touch! The breakfast was also lovely and great value for money.

Our room was an absolute furnace and we couldn’t turn the radiators down but it was late so we didn’t bother the hotel staff. However our family stayed next door and they slept wonderfully so could have just been a precious guest cranking up the radiators!

High quality pub, restaurant and bedrooms - an impressive and welcoming place to stay.

An amazing stay. Staff were attentive and excellent - especially Hannah and Dan. The food was exceptional (breakfast and dinner both of an incredibly high standard), the bar/table service was spot on, and the log fires were always burning! Our bedroom was well presented and provided a good bit of space to relax in - with a really comfy bed too! We would highly recommend this place and will not hesitate to return - we will be back!

Beautiful spacious room with lovely decor and immaculately clean. Lots of little things that made this a very special stay. Staff are fabulous, efficient, professional and friendly. Nice country pub atmosphere. Good food and excellent breakfast. Free parking on site. We will definitely visit again.

Staff and welcome, room, bed comfort. Superb breakfast, clear sourcing of ingredients and quality of everything was first rate. Good beer and sensible non alcoholic options.

Tired shower, drain smell in bar (very slight and repeated outside / adjacent next to the teepee in the garden). Dinner was ok and clearly the chef can cook, steak was overcomplicated by a sauce that didn’t work. Breakfast coffee was a bit tame compared to the excellent food.

Really good value for what is essentially 3 rooms (bedroom, bathroom, lounge room) with the bathtub as the star. The pub down stairs had great atmosphere and fantastic food for breakfast and dinner. Currently very Christmassy. Easy to park. Friendly staff

A wonderful boutique pub

From check-in to check-out The Trout at Tadpole Bridge was excellent. Our room was lovely and welcoming - the heating was on, bedside lamps lit and the radio softly playing, it set a wonderful tone for our two night stay. Breakfast was great, with a wide choice so something for everyone and we ate in the bar too both nights. We would definitely book again.

The staff were so friendly, the service was very good and the dinner and breakfast we had during our stay was superb. The room was lovely and the attention to detail of giving some homemade cookies was thoughtful as well as the voucher for 2 complimentary drinks at the bar. Also was kind that when we left we were offered complimentary takeaway tea or coffee never had that anywhere before and felt that was a very nice idea.

A few walls in the bedroom looked in need of some re-painting just some light remedial works but this didn’t put us off the room or our stay. The room and breakfast was excellent value for money!

Beautiful room and amazing breakfast

The property is lovely and very easy to drive to after visiting Oxford. It’s decorated beautifully throughout including our room. It was amazing value for money as it included a very generous breakfast that was perfect. Coffee was also great. Had a lovely meal in the evening and a drink by the fire afterwards. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. Lots of little perks and added touches which really made it special. Would happily stay here or in any Butcomb hotel again!

Lovely stay, good food and good service

Good car park size, nice building set by the Thames and on a quiet road. Very comfortable pub and eating area tables. Very nice room, quiet, good size large bed and comfortable. Tea and coffee in room. Nice large shower room with the considerate addition of a rubber shower mat to use, as the shower tray was smooth and can be dangerous. Very nice coked breakfast, sour dough toast, lovely fruit smoothie served, my grapefruit juice was of high quality which makes a change from a lot of lower quality juice served these days. Very good service.

For me there were one too many faux plants in the room, not necessary in my view as the room was nicely decorated a few less would of been fine. The only gripe I had and was surprised to find, there were a lot of down lighters in the room with ONE on off switch. Two bedside lamps with shades which cut out too much light, so by the bed area there was inadequate light. There was an angle poise lamp on the desk by the door, so if you switched of the over bright down lighters, the room was then too dark, as the distance between where the bedside lights are placed, and the angle poise, just made the room too dark. A simple dimmer switch on the down lighters would of solved this issue, or place better bedside lamps in the room that give a better level of light. I mention this as the room was so well appointed, I was surprised this level of detail was not considered and for me, over looked in the design planning stage. Other than this, we had a a very nice stay.

Amazing Short Stay with High Quality

Breakfast options were delicious, room was very comfortable with a lovely balcony including a small bridge & river view. The bathroom and the soup, shampoo options have a high quality. Staff was very helpful and lovely.

Everything was perfect the only thing we can mention is slippers in the room was missing. It will be nice two have slippers.

Relaxing break in lovely pub accommodation

Lovely room with everything that we needed and it was nice and quiet. The staff were very friendly. We also had lovely food on the Sunday night and 2 X breakfasts. Excellent value overall.

I found it hard to find my way back there driving in the dark after a full day out, but that was down to my poor night driving skills as it was pitch black and I'm used to bright city lights!

What a find! We chose it for the location to break a long journey and had no idea it would be so special. Really nice spacious room with bath, separate space with sofa and television and a private roof terrace. If only we were early in the year. We had a small supper of starters, which were delicious, with some nice wine. Breakfast was good, it came quickly with lots to chose from. Would strongly recommend.
