1) It is right by the water...breakfast by the window was a lovely picture

1) one of the bedsheets had a red stain and the hotel seemed worse for wear

The room was clean and spacious enough for a triple and the room amenities were acceptable (though both a safe and a mini-fridge were missing). The view of the bay from the dining room was pleasant, and the breakfast was sufficiently rich and varied, though certainly not exceptional. The best thing about the building is probably its location, which is strategic for exploring the Isle of Skye and close to both a good-sized supermarket open from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and a petrol station with a small shop attached that's open 24/7. This way, even if you unfortunately run out of food after a certain hour in the evening, you won't run the risk of going hungry.
The building is clearly outdated, likely dating back to the 1970s or 1980s: as a consequence the overall appearance is very dated. The staff could certainly be more courteous and helpful, given that the general feeling was often that guests' requests were perceived as a nuisance.
