Droning noise (like an electrical buzz) woke us from 530 (?), could have been earlier. Tge noise continued for a few hrs and prevented going back to sleep

I hope my review will be helpful to future guests. As for the hotel itself, it is a small and very cosy guesthouse with a beautiful historic interior. The room was spacious, as was the bathroom. On the ground floor, there is a shared lounge where guests can make themselves hot drinks, as well as help themselves to cold drinks, fruit and snacks. The nearest public transport stop is about a 2-minute walk away. Overall, the hotel absolutely deserves the highest rating.

However, my stay was significantly affected by an issue with parking. When making my reservation, I stated that I would be arriving by car. The hotel asked for my car registration number and make, which I provided. In addition, the hotel’s website states that free on-street parking is available. When I arrived, I saw a no-parking sign opposite the hotel. There were only two permitted parking spaces, both of which were already occupied and remained occupied throughout my entire stay. As the hotel knew in advance that I would be arriving by car and had specifically requested my vehicle registration details, I assumed that parking would not be a problem. Unfortunately, my car was subsequently towed to an impound lot, and I had to pay a fine as well as the costs associated with the towing. I contacted the hotel to discuss the situation. In response, I was sent photographs of notices warning about possible towing and fines, which were displayed on the doors and along the stairs. In my opinion, if the hotel knows in advance that a guest is arriving by car, important parking rules and warnings about possible towing should be clearly communicated during check-in, especially when guests are checking in independently. Simply displaying this information in places that a guest may not notice is not sufficient when the consequences can include a significant fine and the towing of a vehicle. Because of this situation, I feel I have to deduct one point from my rating.

I liked the location off of bustling streets

We didn’t get washrags which was a small oversight but we made due and didn’t ask, but the towels we got, 1 of 2 had a clump of someone’s hair on it. No housekeeping to tidy.
