Beautiful hotel and room. Amazing 4 poster bed, plush and traditional furnishings. Amazing breakfast, so much choice and delicious fresh and local ingredients. Loved the full scottish breakfast and egg in a cup. The staff were all so helpful and friendly. Love the coo's, cat and peacock.
Wouldnt rush to have the afternoon tea again. It was nice but not worth it for the price. I think the breakfast is good and the a la carte menu looked good

Beautiful property.
Party in the events hall kept us up late. We waited an hour for the main course to arrive because of a mix up in the kitchen.

This is my favourite hotel in Edinburgh and have been lucky enough to stay a few times. The decor, staff and attention to detail is outstanding and out of this world. Still pinching myself over last week’s overnight stay where I was upgraded to the resplendent Owners Suite. I cried happy tears at the most beautiful room I have ever stayed in. James Thomsons eye for fabrics, colours and decor is perfection. Thank you so much Prestonfield for making a wee dream come true. Future hotel rooms have now been ruined as none will come close xx

Relaxing, home from home with excellent friendly staff. They were preparing for Christmas and it looks sublime. Everyone working with enthusiasm and pride for the property. Our second visit to Prestonfield House and we will be back. Thanks to Jenny (reception) for your help and to Joaquin (excuse spelling) for your knowledge of the house and its contents!

Breakfast excellent, tasting menu one evening excellent .
Staff very welcoming and friendly and extremely helpful and chatty.
Decor of hotel and rooms very opulent.
Dinner a La carte one evening was disappointingly average. Location in lovely park but nothing around hotel , good walks ,excellent buses but a walk to bus stops etc, taxi into town, otherwise good 30 minute brisk walk..perfect for exploring Arthur’s seat.

What a beautiful hotel! The rooms are luxurious, full of character, and beautifully furnished. The gardens are peaceful and perfect for a stroll. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent. Great location — you feel far away but you’re just minutes from Edinburgh’s Old Town. Highly recommended!

Incredible hotel! A unique country house hotel right in the middle of Edinburgh. You sit eating your breakfast in the most impossibly glamorous dining hall whilst looking at parkland. Meanwhile you can hop in a car and be in the middle of Edinburgh within a few minutes.
It's a really amazing place.

Property was quiet with plenty of opportunity to stroll the grounds. Staff was attentive and very accommodating.
It was a bit far of the bus route, but it was a fair trade off for the peace and quiet.

We love Prestonfield and revisited for our Anniversary. We had a lovely time. The food was superb and the suite was fabulous.
Whilst the hotel is just as fabulous as our last visit the service was not quite the same. I’m not sure if it was perhaps a bit short staffed. We have always received complimentary champagne in our suite or room but this was missing this time. This did not spoil our stay it was just something we noted.

Prestonfield house is a really unique place to stay. The atmosphere, the style, nature around — we were impressed.
The service in the Rhubarb restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. We were waiting for the service for 30 minutes. The waiters were not attentive at all.

Everything!! Prestonfield is MAGIC. The beauty of the property, the service, all of it is next level. I have stayed there twice and will only stay here in Edinburgh. There really are no words to explain how amazing this place is, you have to actually experience it.

From the second I arrived I felt looked after. The staff are amazing. The place is beautiful and I felt my dog was a very welcome guest too
Only thing I would suggest is all the pillows were very soft - it would be nice to have a couple of firm ones

The staff at Prestonfield are 10/10. They knew us despite us only staying a few nights and were incredibly kind and helpful.
The Rhubard restaurant exceeded my expectations. The ingredients are so fresh that I doubt that I can get the same taste for some dishes anywhere else.
The location is a short 10 minute drive from the center of the city and completely quiet at night except for when they have events.
The decor is really lovely and I loved the house cat and 3 cows!
The bed was noted to me as “antique.” I could feel the springs when I passed my hand over the bed and it overall it was very hard bed. If you like hard beds you’ll love it, but I’m more of a soft bed person.
The shower water temperature oscillated quite a bit which was very difficult during shower times.

Beautiful historical setting. Exceptional service. Exclusive decor and attention to detail. Quiet location.
Didn’t know where and where not to go. Lots of areas to explore so maybe a more informative greeting would be good.

A beautiful hotel in a lovely quiet location, just far enough from the busy capital city.
Unfortunately, stayed while renovation work was being carried out in the adjacent and opposite rooms. But this was well managed and caused minimal inconvenience.

The staff are always ready to meet your every need, they are polite, kind and have a way of making you feel at home each and every day. A superb sliver breakfast service in a opulent dining room with lovely garden views and in-house peacocks parading the grounds. On one side the views extend to the a golf course, to the field which hosts the bull cows and the stunning old brick coach house. There are plenty of rooms to sit have a tipple or afternoon tea or light bites in-between.
New receptionist failed to understand the culture or the place nor got a grasp of customer needs, she failed to listen and took a very suborn approach. very displeasing and disappointing indeed.
