Rosehall Hotel

A beautiful garden at the entrance already tells that the owner takes care of the hotel’s comfort. My room was cozy and bright with a large window. The separate bathroom was a bonus!

The location is great, the oldtown is 15 minutes by bus, 25-30 on foot. Holyrood park and nature is a 10 minute walk. Super convenient for all purposes. My room was a good size, the information about checkin and checkout is timely and sufficient, the manager reached out to me on whatsapp to check if everything was okay (response time to my messages was super quick, helpful assistance was always at hand). I encountred four people altogether on the hotel premises and everybody was polite and friendly, I felt safe. The building is kinda old and in need of some reno but still charming and perfectly functinal. Overall it’s a good enough budget option.

I had a separate bathroom from my room, which is a bit uncomfortable to navigate. I knowingly made the compromise because the price was good, but still, just be mindful that it’s a but inconvenient. There’s also reception and no locker room for baggage. Having an entry code to the property and leaving my suitcase at the front desk with a bike locker worked, I didn’t have technical or security issues. But I do prefer to front desk service. Again, a sacrifice one makes for the budget fare.

Traffic noise from the road Would have like some softer lighting and a bedside table

Facilities are old, extremely loud traffic noise, could hear every guest around me, and miserable bed in terms of comfort. Difficult to sleep.
