Great location, easy walk to historic centre. Very clean and well maintained. Friendly helpful staff. Good communication when contacting the hotel. Paid the extra for a fresh continental breakfast with good coffee. Didn’t drive but there’s a well lit multi storey car park within a 2 min walk.
No lounge area to sit in after 9pm when the bar closes. No milk with tea coffee making in the room but staff provided a small jug when requested. Stairs to first floor may be a problem if you struggle with a suitcase, especially the rear night stairs so ask for a ground floor room.

The location was ideal for walking around the town. The staff were friendly. The hotel was clean. It was great to be able to leave our bags after checkout so that we could make the most of our final day in Leiden. Our diet (vegan) was well catered for.
More light in the bedroom by the mirror - it was dark.
In room 11 the shower leaked under the door making the bath mat soggy. The toilet seat was loose. We didn’t report either.

Beautifully decorated, comfortable room with a view of a windmill in a cosy hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was good as it was just a short walk from the railway station and the city centre. The on-sute cafe was a great place to get lunch. A perfect place to relax after 14 hours on a night train!

Welcoming. Central location. Next to a windmill, old town gate, and canal.
2 pillows per person. Both pillows rather high - I like a squishier pillow. If you’re going to have 2 pillows per person, supply one bigger/more solid pillow and one swishy pillow. If

The room temperature was cold and I did not like 2 comforters on one bed

Our cozy room was on the main floor, overlooking the terrace and a canal.. Since we had a lot of luggage, we were glad that we did not have to climb any stairs. The room was small but clean and well appointed with every convenience that one would expect. It was quiet and very comfortable.
We would have liked a table which we might have used for our computers and possibly more places to hang clothes.

Better access to refreshments for room out of hours would have been appreciated

A small boutique hotel, with casual reception and vibe. The hotel was an old barracks and there is a real feel of history around you. The breakfast was delightfully served, with plenty of delicious options to choose from.
Rooms felt small, mainly due to the bath in the room, which is in addition to a shower area. Our room was on the ground floor and felt a little exposed.

the room was spacious; the location was very good; the bed was very comfortable; the shower was great (good water pressure)
that the room was in a park is both good and bad; the outdoor cafe was right outside of my room, so that was somewhat inconvenient; young teenagers congregated in the park late at night and can be rather noisy at times

Heritage building in a beautiful historic town, with an excellent modern renovation, friendly staff, close to rail links

Great character property, ideally positioned, staff were so helpful. I travel every week and for once couldn’t fault it
If they could have stopped the rain and wind the day i arrived it would have been great.. otherwise no issues.

Outstanding breakfast. Wonderful staff. Great location.

Great central location . Comfortable character rooms and friendly professional staff with excellent English.
Rooms were too warm at night and the public areas outside were very very noisy . Breakfasts were delivered on a wooden plank with a fixed selection of food thus lacking personalisation and limiting choice

Charming and nice attraction to details. Staff was friendly and helpful. Setting was everything you expect from Netherlands—canal, city gate, windmill, bridge.

There's anything in particular I liked. In fact it's just an ordinary hotel, with a larger room than the average, within a stylish environment, but nothing that makes this a truly boutique hotel.
The hotel is centrally located, not far away from the train station and this is surely a bonus.
There was not a personalised service, unique character, or insider knowledge that are the basic treats for a boutique hotel.
The best advices received were to eat at other restaurants from the same owner.
We came even on the king's day, and up I didn't ask later in the evening, we were not even told why everybody was going around in orange t-shirt. We initially thought at a football match.

The Hotel is in a superb location. The bed was very comfortable. Most of the staff were friendly.
The hotel said it could provide a gluten free breakfast so the bread was changed but nothing else. As I don’t like cheese and can’t eat eggs this left me with little choice from the platter and it worked out to be very expensive. I would have liked some fruit. I didn’t like the room. There was very little storage - we used a suitcase on the luggage rack as a dresser. The lighting was gloomy particularly in the bathroom. The ammunition cases as bedside tables didn’t work as tere was barely room for a glass of water, spectacles and a phone. Servicing the room involved emptying the bin and tucking the duvet in, no cleaning. We were concerned about what we would do in the event of an emergency when there was no one there at night as the emergency number for the Netherlands does not work on a UK phone.

Interesting minimalist industrial mode, in keeping with the building's original function as a barracks. Metallic stairs. Open freestanding Bath in bedroom . Beams.
The staff in the downstairs cafe ( original barracks mess) were excellent.
We agreed the room could be cleaned every other day in exchange for a drink voucher.
We were there for three nights. The bins were changed only once with no extra attention. Cleaning regime could be tightened up.
Design wise, a ladder for clothes storage is not sufficient ( no bathroom hooks or closet drawers only an open hanger stand). It looked great but was not practical.

Shower area was a little small but not a big issue.

Central location - comfortable bed and clean.
You need to carefully watched out for the beam in the bedroom - very low and you can hurt your head if getting out of bed in night.

Too much for two persons. Very nice yogurt with jam and crunch. We’d rather have two small juice of each instead of two big ones
I couldn’t get any cappuccino around 20:00 because the machine was already cleaned. Bad service because it closes at 21:00.
No garbage bin in the room.
The general room was almost always empty. Like there were no guests at all.
