Great location, large properties, reasonable price
A bit cold, but an extra blanket makes the job

Great location for exploring the city center. Wifi works fine . Charm of a old dutch house with some modern comfort (good shower, good bed). Nice view of the canals
A/C for heating not straighforward to use

Very clean and central. Beautiful room! Smooth check-in process
Electronic keys are a bit worrying if you accidentally leave your phone in your room or lose your phone then lock yourself out. Not sure how I’d have got back in

Couldn’t work out the hearing so room was cold

The room was beautiful, size is great, very clean, a complete kitchen, nice shower. Very central.
It was very cold, I tried to change the temperature of the room but it didn't change. The isolation from the windows is terrible, so probably that is why the room doesn't keep the temperature. As the isolation from the windows is very poor, you can hear all the noise from the street. The hotel is in Leiden's city center, in a street with restaurants and coffees, so there was a lot of movement of trucks and cleaning cars before 6am.

The room is very spacious and feels very private and comfortable.
If you need a space to work, the small living is perfect to accommodate this need.
The rooms were a bit cold and, I tried to message the property asking about the heating system, but nobody replied. In the end I figured it out by myself.

Super room, great views, nice touch providing ear plugs.
Even though the bed was comfy, they could invest in better pillows as they were very lumpy. Towels were small, old and rough. Couldn’t control thermostat.

The spacious apartment was fantastic, lovely views over the canal, great shower with heated bathroom floor, kitchen, TV, comfy chairs and up the spiral stairs a comfy bed.
The only thing was having to swipe on a web page to get into the main door on the street and to your room. In theory it's useful, maybe if they had their own app but when I needed to get in, the page wouldn't load and I had to go back to the WhatsApp message they sent the link on and try it again.

Smooth check-in, stylish rooms, fully equipped kitchen including a coffee machine, and a perfect location.

Beautiful place, right in the center of town, easy to walk around to places.
The radiotors made a little high pitched noise, but you get used to it quickly. Id still go back, it's lovely.

They allowed me to do an early check-in out of need, which I really appreciated to avoid dragging the luggage around.
The rooms are big and lovely, amazing amenities and have a great view of the city. The fact that they're right in the centre of Leiden is a plus, no need to walk long distances for a drink or to buy in a supermarket.

The location is the top quality. Then the fact that I had a triple-window room overlooking the canal, Fantastic.
This "staff-less" model fits with the times of Internet-everywher, QR codes, etc. but it is *BS* when you are a travelling guest at commercial hotel/BnB. Their Internet collapsed at 1 minute past midnight and I was on the street for 90 minutes. Unable to enter, unable to speak to anyone. Only through some Herculean telephoning and screaming into voice messages did someone eventually get on their bike to open the establishment at 2a.m. They did eventually refund me for the trouble but it was a horrible keyless experience.

An amazing find; absolutely fabulous. We had a wonderful view out over the canal and the streets below, and were delighted to be in such a central location in this very manageable, walkable, charming city. We had the 'Roald Dahl' room on the 2nd floor which was very well appointed with both a microwave and a two-ringed inductively couple hob. Bed: large King-size and extremely comfy. An Albert Heijn supermarket is only three minutes away for all your eat-in food needs. Local eateries- what can I say? So many great cafes within 2 minutes walk. We had a particularly great evening meal at Scarlatti's, and we really enjoyed our Rondvaart 1 hour canal tour (office 1 minute walk away), which gave us a different view of this charming city. Rijksmuseum Boerhaave was fantastic (science material), as was the Rijksmuseum Oudheden (antiquities museum- allow some time!).
The lounging, low-level chairs were great, but two functional chairs (foldable?) allowing you to eat at the table would have been helpful. Are we unusual in wanting to have some meals in the apartment? I don't think so; eating out all the time is expensive!
I was initially bothered to realise that the town hall bells were chiming every 15 minutes (throughout the night!), but I had the impression that after about 11pm the volume reduced- also the windows and shutters in the apartment really cut down the sound to an almost imperceptible level. I never heard them through the night and my sleep was not disturbed.

Noisy hotel, we couldn’t sleep very well. We were in the loft and the staircase is really narrow and a long way up. We didn’t feel that the hotel was really clean. It needs some TLC. On the second day the cleaner didn’t make our bed, she didn’t go to the bedroom level.

Great location. Comfortable room. Tea and coffee.
The soap was outside the shower cubicle. So you have to get of the shower cubicle to get more soap.

Lovely room with great view of the canal, clean and comfy bed. Even though it is staffless everything worked very smoothly.
Didn’t realise just how noisy it was going to be - loud neighbours in the bar next door with music playing until 3am until I had to go and ask they stop, then market setting up from 6am - didn’t get much sleep!

Excellent location on the canal and close to restaurants and shops. Walking distance from attractions. The room was beautifully decorated and had a modern bathroom and kitchen. Responsive host.
Narrow winding staircase was difficult to navigate with heavy luggage. However, help was available when I checked out.

Beautiful hotel in perfect location right in the centre of Leiden. You step out of the hotel and are surrounded by lovely restaurants, shops, canals, bridges, supermarkets etc. We were at the back of the building so didn’t hear any noise and didn’t affect our sleep. The decor of the hotel is stunning and amenities make for a very comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend and would book again.
The lighting in both bedroom & bathroom weren’t very bright for putting on make-up but that is a very minor complaint. Make sure you have mobile data for the keyless entry on the main front door. The stairs are narrow and steep for luggage this wasn’t a problem but just be aware.

It was central to everything
Very clean
Great view over the canal
Beautiful room
Would definitely stay again
No lift and having to carry a suitcase all the way up the winding spiral stairs to the room on the top floor!
It would have been good to have a mirror in the bedroom there was only one mirror and it was in the bathroom. This would be useful especially if there is more than one person staying in the room
There was no iron in the room, it would have been useful as we were attending a wedding.

Location, staff assistance, house keeping everyday,
Weekly markets right outside door, walking distance to station. Had the perfect room with small kitchen. Beautiful view. Thank you
Had to carry suit cases up stairs and you need wifi to enter property. Though would not have asked for another room or place to stay. It’s was fantastic.

The location, venue, views, facilities, and room service were exceptional. Communication with management was easy.
Even though the security system (door entries) was a brilliant system, I myself wasn't equipped with data service to allow entry. However, the WiFi only just worked outside the premises enough for me to log in. Just took a little time. Recommend having own data.

Beautiful old house with a wonderful suite/room on the top floor and attic. I think I was lucky to meet a member of staff given it is generally staff free! But he was incredibly helpful in pointing me in the direction of the municipal secure bike parking just over the street. Highly recommended.

The stairs up to the room but that is what it is and can't be altered. A small price to pay.

Great location.
Lovely room.
Staff took our bags in before check-in time.
Cleaning of the room leaves a lot to be desired. Dusty, floor hadn't been hoovered/swept. Toilet hadn't been properly cleaned. Only got new towels one day out of three. No replacement toilet roll. Cards for previous guests left in the room.

A very charming room, very centrally located, with lots of good restaurants just around the corner. We loved the place and would happily choose this hotel when we come back to Leiden.
If you have any trouble walking I would not choose this hotel because it's not easy carrying a suitcase up and down the narrow staircase. We also questioned if there was cleaning every day since the cleaner did not show up a couple of times, or maybe we didn't hear them knocking the door. There was a also a problem with the heater for a couple of days, so no hot water and no aircon but we were properly compensated for that so I would say this was handled well by the management.
