Good breakfast, very nice room and bathroom, and good facilities. Also a great location.
Airconditioning/heating system was difficult to regulate and made a lot of noise.

breakfast à la cart with few but original options. Not very copious, but quality is very good.
Very narrow staircase.

The room was well laid out and very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was small but the shower was good and the water toasting hot.
The location is central and convenient for the university and town centre.
The stairs are extremely steep and extremely narrow. They are not for the faint hearted or anybody with mobility issues. Carrying a large suitcase up would be extremely challenging, and there was little help available.
The road is busy and was very noisy with a lot of vocal passersby (I was there on Friday and Saturday night so maybe it is quieter midweek). Consider bringing earplugs...

I can confirm all positive comments of others. We had a lovely stay, the location is fantastic, we loved the spacious room and even while it was getting cold outside, the heating in the room was more than adequate: super comfy. It's the perfect location from where to stroll around the wonderful center of Leiden, and if you're done walking around, there are some fantastic restaurant options just across from Ex-Libris, so easy and enjoyable.

Very good location. Wonderful breakfast options. Pleasant and helpful manager/owner. Comfortable room, with Air-conditioning and a great bathroom. Comfortable bed. We enjoyed that there were two TV's available. Good WIFI as well. All of the center of Leiden was in walking distance. Plenty of shops restaurants supermarkets and even the Market were all very close by. Parking also available for those with a Car.
We did miss some appliances that could have improved our stay, such as a microwave, fridge and utensils.

Quiet and comfortable. Great location.
Good communication with the hotel
My only issue was the stairs which were very steep and narrow with a suitcase

Really cosy and quirky

Nice, large rooms. Very comfortable bathroom.
Sound isolation was poor, anyone moving in stairs or other floors make huge noise. Also street noises come through (..but luckily it was a quiet night).
Stairs were terribly steep, difficult to take luggage to the room.

Fabulous location, really clean and comfortable.
Friendly staff.
Great attention to detail.
Stairs are very steep, so not for anyone with poor mobility, but not a problem at all for me.

Location, beautiful room, good bed
It might be challenging for some people due to steep stairs, for us it was not an issue.

Great location
Just watch out for steep Dutch stairs

Location good for us.

My room was very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The bed was comfortable, and I had a great night’s sleep. However, the stairs leading to the room might be challenging for someone with mobility issues. The hotel is in a great location, close to everything Leiden has to offer. Breakfast wasn’t included in the room rate, but the selection was good and the food was tasty.

Room was small but very comfortable.
There needs to be a better description about the stairs. If you are older or have large suitcases, it would be very difficult to get up the winding narrow stairs.

Notifications on how to enter, room was ready and as expected.
Sound proof windows. Climate control made our stay during hot and noosy night very comfortable.
Tea making facilities appreciated!
MINOR issues.
Mail said parking was 28, however price has gone up to EUR 30.
Staircase is very narrow, not suitable if you’re suffering from mobility issues.

Charming boutique hotel at heart of Leiden! Very close to museums and the university, at the heart of everything on a lovely, cobbled street. Really loved it!

The location was perfect as we were participating in the half marathon. There were plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance.
The staircase was incredibly steep, our room was on the second floor and there was no lift.
No help was offered to take our luggage to the room.
7.0 / 10.0
Comfortable bed, great location, well equipped room.
My room was on a second floor. Physical access to the room is uncomfortable and dangerous because of the very steep steps and very narrow stairwell, especially when carrying luggage.
Although check-in was very easy and convenient, I did miss having personal contact with someone at check-in.
The bathroom is pretty but very small. As the door opens against the rest of the bathroom and hits the sink cabinet, you cannot pass around it to get into the shower if you're inside the bathroom. Instead, you need to get out of the bathroom and open the shower door in order to get into the shower. This is a small detail which can be easily improved by changing the swinging direction of the door.

Location in the old town, beautiful area and character
Again location, your in the student area. Bed was comfortable but one person had to climb over the other, bathroom was cramped, hard to open shower door once in bathroom. Not really a true hotel, not much contact with anybody, more a room in a house. We coped with the stairs, but be warned and had no help with luggage which was fine for us but others may struggle.

Bed was very comfortable, location good, breakfast was also good and served efficiently.
The stairs!!! Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay would have had second thoughts 🥴.

The property and atmosphere is very charming and cozy and the location is super convenient in the heart of Leiden historical district. The room was vary nice and comfortable, quiet at night, with a nice desk that was very useful for my work trip. Its size exceeded my expectations. The bed was also very comfortable.
Being the building historical, the staircase was very steep and narrow. It was not a problem for me but it is not easy to climb it if you have a large suitcase.

Fint rum, nära till allt.
Breakfast not included, bit noisy.

Fantastic location, walk from train station, in historic part of Leiden. Lovely, well-appointed room, all the conveniences. Enjoyed the breakfast in the pretty breakfast room.
There’s no reception desk or person to greet you and provide advice. Also, anyone with mobility problems would struggle to climb the tiny circular staircase. Street facing room can be noisy (pub on street corner). Garden room was quiet.

The room was very lovely and cozy. We stayed in a suite which had a little more room and if you’re a couple, I would recommend it. The bathroom was really nice and efficient and the shower had really good Water pressure. If you know about Dutch stairs you’ll be well prepared. We didn’t have too much issue and my husband is in his late 50s and I’m at 40s. Packing large suitcases might make it hard to get up the staircase.

The location was great.
The room was an attic which was very difficult to climb. Stairs were too steep to carry bags upstairs.
8.0 / 10.0
Comfortable and well-appointed room. Excellent position in the old part of the city. Breakfast was available but I did not take it.
The staircase was very steep and twisted and the steps were not wide enough to put your feet on. Of course the house was old, but a more precise indication should have been given to warn clients. There was no clear indication on the website that there was no reception desk and access was by door code given before travel.

Fabulous location short walk from station, beautiful room, well designed and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed. Lovely restaurants and bars nearby. Owner really helpful throughout.

We loved the location of the hotel, the amazing shower and the comfortable bed. The room was large and had everything we needed. We enjoyed a lovely continental breakfast on our first morning; the owner was friendly and welcoming and he was happy for us to leave our luggage in reception after checking out, so that we could continue exploring the city. The hotel is situated in an attractive and quiet, yet central, part of Leiden. We would happily stay there again!

Excellent location for exploring Leiden. Very clean and comfortable room. Appreciated small refrigerator for wines, and coffee-making facilities. The availability of breakfast at the hotel is a "plus", very handy on days with a busy travel agenda.
We chose an inner courtyard view thinking it would be quieter with less street noise, but found that a neighboring bar was hosting a King's Day party on their adjacent courtyard. Ex Libris informed us that the bar had promised the very loud "music" would end at 10 PM, and somewhat miraculously, it did. Based on other reviews, we expected the staircase to our first floor room to be narrow and steep, and it was; but carefully lifting suitcases up a couple steps at a time worked OK.

Great location, spacious room with nice touches!
The stairs may be an issue for some guests and the sound travelled a lot between the rooms/hallways
9.0 / 10.0
Large bed, quiet room, small hotel overall with private feeling
Drain of the shower was clogged. The staircase is extremely narrow and steep, beware if this may be an issue for you. (E.g. larger luggage, etc.)

The room was ideal... comfy seats at the end of the bed for watching tv and the bed was super comfortable!!!
Would have preferred a more expansive breakfast. Although the yogurt and fruit was good, there wasn't enough granola and it had way too much cinnamom on top. Luckily the bagel was really tasty.
