Such An Unexpectedly Nice Stay!

Lovely gardens, tremendously lovely staff. I booked last-minute and the room rate was so reasonable, that I thought it might be bare bones and drab, and I also arrived super late, past midnight. But the security guard was watching for me and took me straight to my room that was all prepared with the lights and air-con (A/C) already turned on -- it felt very welcoming and home-y. Having a la carte breakfast options that they bring to you to eat on your private terrace with a garden view was such a treat!

The bathroom is a great size, but a little dark

Great gardens, nice pool, very relaxing. Breakfast was excellent and served to the cottage veranda. Pool was very relaxing, shaded and spotless. Property is slightly outside Ubud which is good as Ubud was a bit manic. Local restaurant across the street from the entrance had vary good food at local prices. Locals were dining there which is always a good sign.

Great value, but...

Great location, isolated and quiet, next to the monkey sanctuary (and the monkeys are definitely visiting here),, very nice swimming pool

Crappy WiFi (when it worked at all) Loud and drunk guests (at least I think they were guests) drinking in the swimming pool a full afternoon and evening, and the personnel did nothing to moderate them. Events like this definitely defeat the purpose of this place.

Absolutely fantastic

I absolutely loved this place. First, it has a beautiful garden and a nice pool. It's located in a quiet side street and you don't hear a lot of traffic noise. The staff are super nice and helpful without being intrusive. The banana pancakes for breakfast are amazing. The rooms are clean (ask the staff when you want them cleaned, they don't do it automatically during your stay). However, this guest house's best feature by far is its location right at the edge of the Monkey Forest, so it's a short walk to the entrance (ask the staff for the shortcut through the forest, the official route from Google Maps is MUCH longer). But, you don't even have to go into the Forest to see the monkeys, as they come by for a visit by the pool pretty much every day (they're not allowed to stay for long, though).

Only very minor details. The rooms could use more power outlets and the WiFi signal could be stronger (works well in front of the rooms, but not inside the rooms or near the pool).

A lovely & quiet environment close to Monkey Forest & main Ubud shopping

Nara Ubud Cottage has an extremely relaxing & beautiful garden environment. I enjoyed my daily yoga on the porch looking at the garden in rain or sunshine.

Comfortable basic accommodation

Nara cottages are set in a beautiful garden and can use an exceptional pool close by. The staff are very friendly. The air conditioning works well and the shower is good. It is in a very good location off the main road in Nyuh Kuning. It is very good value for money.

The room while comfortable is very basic. There is no mosquito net and the bed linen is clean but very old with some stains. We were there five days and the room was not serviced. I would be prepared to pay a little more with a mosquito net and new linen.

Beautiful stay in nature

In a really pretty setting. There is a path next to the monkey forest for a quick cut through into the Main Street. The staff were super friendly. The bed was comfy and the shower was hot with good pressure.

The bathroom needs an extraction fan installed.

Lovely accommodation

Lovely room and bathroom. Check in was smooth. The pool was lovely and quiet. The accommodation had pools with fish and frogs, presented a very peaceful serene atmosphere.

A little hard to find the accommodation. They also charged us a surcharge for paying by card.

Nice garden and swimming pool. A quit place to relax from the busy Ubud streets. Children could feed the fish in the pond. Additional breakfast could be ordered to be served on the terrace.

Bathroom had a bad smell. Close to the monkey forest so be prepared that they visit the garden. No fridge in the room.

I like the quietness and the sound of the water flowing, the free wifi, and also the laundry service.

I would appreciate if a kettle, some basic utensils like glass and spoon, and a pair of slipper are provided. I was there to work and only had some time to eat breakfast in the room before breakfast time. The weather was cool and so as the floor, a pair of slipper would be nice during the cool season.

The location is perfect! 20min walking to the chaotic centre, yet so quiet and calm. Hot shower always a bonus 😊 Great swimming pool. Good breakfast. Wifi works well.

They close the swimming pool at 18h already, so you can't use it once you're back from town or day trips 😔 A real waste.

Nothing . Location is not properly communicated. Very interior.

Room is not clean and bathroom also. Bath room window is open. There is no window cover.. Bathroom door haven't any lock. Very bad property. No body available in the night time.

Beautiful stay. Ideal to set up as base for your time in Ubud and relax by a pool

The location was ideal for a quieter stay with only a short walk into Ubud central via the monkey forest shortcut. Lots of nice places to eat nearby too so you won't go hungry. Staff were pleasant and helpful where they could be and the swimming pool was perfect in either rain or sunshine. Room is basic but comfortable. AC working but does blow straight onto the bed.

The bed cover could have been nicer. It was thin and small for 2 people to share. AC unit couldnt be adjusted so was only one level that was pretty strong and loud.

Beautiful property with an amazing pool. The staff at Nara were wonderful, always full of smiles and helpful advice. Rooms are nice with a great high pressure hot shower.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The doors into the room and bathroom were very loud when opened and closed. It had the bare minimum. The only toiletries was 1 pump soap in the shower. The bed was uncomfortable and really squeaky as you moved in it. The front door locked with a padlock which was frustrating. The lighting in the bathroom was very dark. No bar fridge was annoying also.

Decent stay with pool

Friendly staff. Big swimming pool and the outside was very nice with ponds and trees.

Hard to find the location as it's quite far down an alleyway. The hot water didn't work sometimes and the bathroom didn't feel clean and had water or mould damage on the roof. The lighting in the room was very dim.

Great value for the money: walking distance from the city center, beautiful garden and pool. Quiet and peaceful place aside from the road. Friendly staff. Room big enough.

still feel good

we stayed two nights here.the swimming poor wad very cool, we enjoyed a lot there, and the staff was quite friendly,. offered us hot water for making tea. garden view was nice too sometimes the monkeys come. the location is good too, very close to the monkey forest.

the bed is easy to make noise if the people is heavy and have moves. several spots were found on the bed sheets, which could not be cleaned, since it was rainy day, no alternative , but they changed next day.
